I was born in 1958. I’ve seen every episode and I am still watching it today
Lol! Me too! 1958. Hard to believe, Eisenhower (President of the USA) and Andy Griffith. Arguably, America in her prime.
1958 too, I was actually there about 10 years ago and could not believe the place, REALLY AWESOME.
I was born in 1963 I grew up watching Andy Griffith and I still love this show I watch all day
# 9999 x 999 x 999 x 999

I'm with you 1963, same year here👍
Same here !
@@mp3032 Same with me too!
Thank you so much for Sharing. I still love to watch the "Andy Griffith show". ❤❤❤
I was born in 1953. I love the Andy Griffith Show. I watch it when I can. They don't make shows like this anymore. ❤❤
We can see how Andy Griffith got his inspiration for the show. It's so beautiful, and just imagine what it must have looked like back then. Welcome to Mayberry.
,,🙏🙏🙏👑👑💐🥀🌺 🌺😔😔
I just found this, and it is great. We live just north across the state line near Fancy Gap, and we go to Mt. Airy regularly. I was glad to see the class picture. My wife's aunt (Edna Surratt) is number 24, standing directly in front of Andy. Her grandfather worked with Andy's dad. I grew up in the 80s, and Andy was on TV at our house every evening at 5 o clock. We still love it. I wish they made great shows like that now. Excellent video.
I watched every episode of Andy Griffith Show and still watch the re-runs. Wish it was a nice day. But, great video. Thank you.😊💙💙💙💙💙💙
I was born in 1950, Andy was the best darn show ever, I still watch it to this day!!!
I watch The Andy Griffith Show every night one at 8:00 and one at 8:30 pm i love it. Thank you for sharing.
Andy and Barney were 2 of the goats of television
I WAS BORN IN 61 IN THE CAROLINAS THIS IS A GREAT COMING BACK HOME MEMORY FOR ME THANKS
I love the Andy Griffith show. I would love to live there. What a beautiful town. You done a great job.
This video was wonderful!! I was born in 58' so this was my era of television growing up, and the Andy Griffith Show was top notch. It's still one of my favorites. I felt like I was walking right beside ya during this tour and enjoyed it tremendously. These were the innocent days of TV when simple comedy was at its finest. It's so different today. Wow, it brought me so many great memories. Thank you for doing this. I give it 5 out of 5 badges!! I want to go here so bad now!! I'm saving this video to my favorites so I can look back on it and remember the tour guides name and the bed and breakfast place and other things. Who knows, maybe I can even make it out there in September. I just LOVE this video!!!
I was born in 1972 but I still watch it!!!😎💪🇺🇸🙏🙏
Hello there thank you for the tour. God Bless
I was born in 57 and grew up watching it. My parents spent most of my childhood lives going through Kentucky and Tennessee and North Carolina and I'm from southern Ohio
Absolutely I'm only one year older than you I've watched The Andy Griffith show from beginning to now!😊
I was born in 1958 too so. Great times!👏🏻❤️
We still watch the Andy Griffith show and so glad it is available on tv
What a nice memory to have and the stories written for the show had pretty good guidelines of how life should be
What a special time I’m glad I grew up with this type of show
Thank you so much for posting this video! I grew up watching the reruns… I adore the Andy Griffith show!
That sidecar….”Citizens Arrest! Citizens Arrest!!”
😂😂😂😂
So blessed that we live just minutes away from Mt Airy. We visit quite often. Was there just today.
Love the gentleman and his details of the show, stone, city and Andy. Thank you for taking us along, sir.
Born in 65 .i remember getting in a bit of trouble like a boy does and my dad saying you watch Andy Griffith so you know better so now you are grounded ! Thank you DAD miss you
Town in Jackson county Tn Granville Tennessees Mayberry town check it out it's nice there.they have Mayberry Lucy days in April also .
I grew up in a small town, in Western Md. Still live here, raised 3 generations here. Just like Mayberry. Back in the 60s we even had a Barney. A town cop that looked & acted like Barney. We akso had a Floyd, the barber. 🤣🤣
Great video! I've visited Mt.Airy, and it's a wonderful experience. I was fortunate enough to visit the museum when Betty Linn, Thelma Lou, on the show was alive. I met her. She was wonderful, very down to earth, and made each visitor feel like family. Can you imagine her thanking you for watching the show and hugging you. I had that pleasure. It's something I'll never forget. If you like the Andy Griffith show, please visit Mt. Airy, North Carolina 😊❤
Stirs-up good childhood- to-adult memories.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. 😊
“NIP IT….NIP IT IN THE BUD!”
THIS IS A GREAT TOUR VIDEO !
THE BEST !
Great video, the part where you held the phone up to your head and spoke into the ear piece had me rolling. Keep up the great work.
Don Knotts was born to be Barney Fife. ❤😊
Fear less Fife
Me and my family went there in 2014. Brought back a lot of memories. I think I actually met Floyd the barber to the real Floyd. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for sharing.
Whoever painted that mural, is as talented as Smo Nova!
I live on the mountain just above Mount Airy, N.C. I shop ,eat and see my doctors in that precious and quaint town.
LOL Randy I LOVED this video! I have seen every episode of Andy Griffith. I’m STILL watching the reruns. This was FUN 🤩 THANK YOU 🥰

Thank you for taking us back to the good times.
My mom and my grandma met Jim Nabors and got his autograph in the 80s
Thank you this is so cool. Seeing the happier memories in life
One of my favorite truck stops, in Mt Airy. I never knew one of my favorite television shows was filmed there. 😊
When I was in college in mid 1970s there were a couple guys who made their schedule so they could get back to their dorm room to watch Andy Griffith reruns ...Show us your bullet Barney!
Nice video. Always watched growing up in the 70s. Born 69. Really liked the ford Galaxie. My dad had a 68 fastback and 73 Galaxie 500 sedan. Love that old police car siren Didn’t know that about Floyd.
Those Murals are really beautifully done...
HERE'S THE BEST: Barneys Side Car Episode and he mentions "JOHNNY SHAFTO" - Well Guess What, I know JOHNNY SHAFTO - my Best Friend, Thornton High School, CO, 1975-1977, joined the USN in the same company 77-164 San Diego and still keep in touch today. I still call him Johnny, I LOVE YOU BROTHER, Bobby Estey (USN, USS Constellation CV64 - AIMD 77-81) Johnny Shafto (USN, USS Enterprise CVN65 and USS Coral Sea CV43 - VA97).
Great video. My favorite show was when Gomer came into the sheriff's office and was singing From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoly and said that was from the marine hymn and Andy ask him did he go see a John Wayne movie over the weekend and Gomer said he had joined the marines. That was my favorite show and that was part of the beginning of that particular show.
I was 10 years old when the last episode was filmed now my grandchildren wach the TV show
born 1959,,my favorite everyday tv shows,,still love them...nice job man,,thanks for sharing
I was born in 1962 and I grew up watching Andy Griffith

💀..Excellent vid..!! ..(Amazing muralist !!!, artist)
One of my fav shows!
Great video. I enjoyed it very much, seeing the museum and all. Barney’s side car was what he called “check point chicky”
You were within 30 minutes of where I live. I'm just up the mountain and across the Virginia line. You did a great job with the video. Hope you are having a great weekend and God bless!
So the night before I filmed this I stayed in Wytheville… is that close to you? I’m glad you enjoyed it! I will be back up that way in September and maybe I can meet you! I have met several subscribers before, it’s always fun!
I’m from Cana VA, was born in Mount Airy,NC
I think I’ve seen every Andy Griffith episode multiple times. Did they carry over the Mayberry Day tradition at Toyota Field? I remember them doing that at Joe Davis Stadium way back.
Home sweet Home, I love Mount Airy and it's medicine to the soul. Recommend Mayberry Days to anybody thats never been.
I cannot wait for Mayberry days!
Awesome and amazing video.
God bless you and your family Brother
I was there before the reruns so I bought the set. Still love it.
Greatest show ever
I still watch this all the time on TV Land when I visit my mother. Thanks for the content Big Bake! Wow the driver has so much knowledge!
There was about 20 more mins of stories he told but I had to cut these to make it fit my video. As a AGS fan I absolutely had a blast!
I loved seeing this! Thank you. I couldnt stop cracking up at the way you were talking into phone. It was backwards 😂😂😂. Much love❤
Mount Airy, North Carolina really does have that Mayberry vibe to it... Love that town, Siler City is pretty cool too... miss the state...Thanks for sharing!!!!
Glad you enjoyed this video! I made this for a certain crowd that I knew would watch it with detail… some will just skim it but there is a large group that will really enjoy seeing the real life stuff.
@@BIGBAKEONTHEMOVE I never really got into the show but living close to Mount Airy and knowing Mayberry is based on the town give me a whole new outlook.
@@BIGBAKEONTHEMOVEwho is James Best?
He was best known for his role as Roscoe P Coaltrain in the Dukes of Hazard. In the Andy Griffith show he was “the guitar player” James Best was quite the musician
WoW thanks for this video i drove truck for 18 years and went past mt airy several times but no time to stop and was not sure about getting a big truck in there, i too grew up watching the show so WoW thank you.

Loved Andy Griffith. My favorite was The Loaded Goat.
Wow Thank you for sharing a beautiful memory. I still watch Andy one of my favs ❤ God Bless and Thanks again ❤
I Injoy the whole thing. That was really good.
Thanks for posting this vid. A year later since this was made, my husband and I are going up to Mt. Airy this weekend. Looks like we'll have a good time. Thanks for all the good tips.
Born in 65 and grew up with the show. It is my absolute, most favorite TV show ever made. If I could only have one thing to watch on TV or stuck on an island it would be this show. I have the whole series on DVD and know just about every line of every episode. I love this show with a passion. It puts me in a good mood at any time. OK, for you super fans out there, I wish they made a Thanksgiving episode as good as the Christmas one with Ben (Which we watch every Christmas morning along with Bing in White Christmas) and I think Peg was the best one for Andy. Barney is my favorite but so is Ange. Floyd is right behind them. We love all the characters. They feel like family at this point. They will never create a more beloved show than this.
Thank you for making this awesome video brotha. I had a shot to go visit Mount Airy in the 90s but couldn't.
Many dear blessings all and I might just have to watch me the "Jinx" one tonight, LOL!!!
Gonna make it to Mt.Airy this summer.Thought about going for Mayberry Days, but I seriously doubt I'd be able to get a reservation in one of the few hotels they have.I'll never get tired of the Andy Griffith show.I have it on disc!

Particularly the one with Brisco Darling and his son’s music when they are playing their instruments with Andy! Absolutely unique! Keep up the good work! Greetings🤗

Oh wow! Love this and Andy Griffith show ❤️ 😊
Love how you hold that old phone in the old courthouse, close to correct!
Great video!
Haha it was a honest mistake lol I held it backwards 😂
I enjoyed watching your video. I was born in, raised, and still live in Mount Airy. If you’ve been to Mayberry Days every year you would’ve met me from 1996-2004. There was a young redheaded boy who was portraying Opie Taylor from the show. That was me. I was the boy giving out lemonade at the old Visitors Center which was a blue house at the start of Main Street. I had the honor of meeting and interacting with some of the cast members including George Lindsey and Maggie Peterson. Every one of the stars I met were incredibly nice. I still have the slingshot I used with my portrayal of Opie. I sometimes knew in advance if Andy was coming to visit the town as he and my grandpa were cousins and he’d get word from other relatives.
We have been there a few years ago I got pictures of my husband and brother in law in jail we had a awesome time reliving those days 😅
Bro this is so cool i always wanted to go to Mt. Airy. The Andy Griffith show was a staple in our house when i was growing up as well as I Love Lucy, the Munsters and all the great shows that came out of the 60s even my kids watch this stuff. your starting to be able to find all these great shows to stream and for free. I statrted laughing when you held the mic up to your ear and started speaking into the earpiece but than the conversation you had with "Juanita" LOL Thanks for this video man it is a great one.
Haha man I’ve never used a phone like that lol I thought I was doing it right haha! I had fun on this one
If anyone is a Lucy fan,
Jamestown NY is the place to be for the birthday festival in August. We were there in 2006 and even extended our vacation. So much to see and events to attend. PHENOMENAL !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I grew up near mt airy and my mom was friends with a lady who was Andy’s neighbor when they were kids she had so many stories of them growing up together
Great interview and story thanks for the video I watched every episode when it comes on TMC 😊
I'm 19 and I really love and enjoy the Andy Griffith show. I have a gun belt just like Barney's. Video was awesome and loved the Galaxies and the siren coming on. 🚨❤️❤️
Love this episode! Thanks Big Bake
I've been here twice. I loved it.
Really enjoyed this video! You have a special talent!
This was such a great video!!! ❤
I was born 14 days before Ron Howard. Andy was born one month before my mother. Andy died 2 weeks after my father died. I watched the episodes during their first runs. Seems like it was Wednesday nights. They were black and white. There was no color TV yet. I still watch 2-3 episodes everyday on “Pluto TV.” Full episodes. Not chopped up like the other networks. Thanks for this video.
This was wonderful! I want to go there now!
thanks for the tour & history
That guide looks and acts just like the show did.He is so funny.
I love this show! I watch it every night on tvland. This was a fun video for me to watch! Thank you! ❤
Wonderful!!
Just visiting from Grizzly true crime.thank you for letting her use your video. Glad she sent us over here. I have to go to this town
Which video was it she used? She’s great! Glad to have u here
North Carolina is a beautiful state, at least I know it used to be. If you can visit there among the other original 13 colonies, do so. The beautiful colonies and war sights were very awesome and beautiful in learning of the hard and determined founding history of this beautiful country.
Brilliant video ,well done !💗
Great video. I read “The Boys” by Ron and Clint Howard and the book “Andy and Don” by Daniel de Vise. Always loved the TV show.
Thank you for this video I love it ❤
Nice little town will definitely visit again soon
Thanks and it was wonderful.
