When buying new golf clubs often we think about wanting to get fitted for them, getting fitted for new golf clubs can be a sure fire way to make sure you end up with the best golf clubs of 2024 for you, The best irons of 20245 could indeed be the new PXG Gen7 irons. in todays video we take a look at the new 2024 PXG irons which could also be the best forgiving irons of 2024 and indeed the best mid handicap irons of 2024. but PXG do have one problem of their own making surrounding the new PXG Gen7 P irons which I think could cause people not to buy these golf clubs... what is it? let's find out

I’ve been playing the new GEN seven for a few weeks now I think it’s fair to say that if you’re looking for the most forgiveness in a longer iron, PXG is phenomenal in terms of look and feel I do a combo set, however. 0311p 5&6, 0317t 7-pw. Best of both worlds.
After testing all of the new clubs do you pick a brand to keep in the bag for the year or keep changing brands week to week?

I’ve played most PXG gens. Have liked them a lot although they tend to favor distance over other factors. Parson originally justified the high price by saying he was only going to release new sets every 3-4 years unlike the rest of the industry. In other words, even equipment addicts wouldn’t go broke. That lasted through Gen 2 and the refrain became PXG will only release new models that are clearly better than the previous model. I guess that means every year now. Face it, whether you like PXGs or not, the annual “improvements” are incremental at best. PXG isn’t above the “new model every year frenzy” it is part of it…
PXG pushes the innovation of golf clubs with the best of them! While making it look beautiful with the black finish!
I play the317’s, blacked out, and they are the best i have ever owned. I’ve gone up to 10 handicap for one reason or another, mainly because I’ve been watching too many tips, but the irons are saving me from being even worse.
Interesting that your man put you in DG105 which is quite light compared to previous fittings with other manufacturers even though he can tweak the head weight.
You are very lucky to get all these irons most of us can only afford one set of irons every 2-3 years . So what do you do with them all .

There's absolutely no way on this earth that you'll get better performance from the 0317T irons. No way, James! (But i hope you do, haha!)
I've been gaming the Gen 7 0311P irons now for about 2 weeks and they are very solid irons. My biggest issue with them is there's a bit more offset than I'd prefer in a "players" iron, especially compared to the 0311T irons. Great feel, solid performance and very good forgiveness. All that said, I agree with you James. The 0311T irons are my preference between the two sets and I've got a set of those coming next week. Would love to see you do a comparison between the two and hear your thoughts head-to-head.
Yes, please; compare the Gen 7 0311Ps and the 0317s. I’ve been playing the 0311Ps in Gen 5s, Gen 6s, and just got the Gen 7 0311Ps but always wondered about the 0317s. Thanks!

PXG has good stuff. In Scottsdale area Arizona elevation is higher. Dry air too and less dense. Do you consider that in the fitting? It plays a part is distance. Your 165 would go 5-7 yards more with your own clubs there probably. Reverse if you go to sea level. I use 5% every 2k feet. Wyoming I was at 6-7k feet the ball flew a mile.
The Puma brand of the golf world. They are a very inferior product but they get away with it through clever marketing.
@@nielgregory108 I play Mizuno. Found the PXG irons to be clunky. Other options are out there and half the prices.

Question: At around 10:30 in this video, it was stated that the heavier shaft weight (115 g) should produce a higher ball flight. What is the reasoning for this?

@@JamesRobinsonGolfsome love confrontation over an opinion. I don't get it either. In my opinion PXG isn't overly expensive for what you're getting. I just got the Gen 7, switched from Gen 4 ST. I get heroes pricing.
The point of james Channel to me is to give us a perspective and insight from what is cheaper to expensive , but like he says is it valuable to you , someone would find the 2000 clubs valuable to them and some wouldn't, some one with good money may buy the 2000 pound clubs and play of bloody 22 and drive a porshe, is that valuable to me on 13 an hr nooooo. But maybe it would be if I earn 50 an hr , its all relative to the person .
Problem is some viewers take it too personally and not take from James's video what they need to suit them

Ive got rid of my gen6 P’s but really dont like the look (or price of the gen7) so got cobra king forged which are awesome, Ive been PXG mad for years but the cobra really showed me gen 6’s up feel, better!, distance the same, distance consistency miles better!! So as we all know keep testing guys as we just dont know what we dont know👍👍

The One Big Issue titles are getting old
Problem with PXG is they are just ugly, the logo and bolt at the back is tacky. I couldn’t put them in the bag
So what do you suggest? Put logo on the face. Last I checked all manufacturers have logo on back. There is a reason for the smaller screws on other PXG irons. PXG has been tye best manufacturer for me, because they take care of Military Veterans. I've played them all, PXG has been the best Irons I have played. The bolt in center is for MOI. Plus you don't see it playing. It's about performance isn't?

Pxg looks way better now.
A lot of pxg irons sets look like they have been built in a car junk yard , these aren't as bad but still wouldn't win any beauty pageant.
One big issue: gen 8 will be released in less then 90 days
PXG has always been a joke and always will be a joke. They are like Bose. Clever marketing for a VERY inferior product.
