    Welcome to our comprehensive tutorial on Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) line installation!
    In this video, we explore the ins and outs of modern plumbing systems, specifically focusing on the role and installation of the DWV system. This crucial component is responsible for safely transporting wastewater from your household fixtures to the main sewer line, while also preventing harmful sewer gases from infiltrating your living space.
    We'll walk you through the careful process of designing a DWV system, which begins with a detailed assessment of your building's unique plumbing fixtures and their anticipated usage. Using this data, we then demonstrate how to determine the optimal pipe size and type, the correct number of vents, and their ideal placements.
    In the installation phase, we break down the step-by-step process of cutting and joining pipes, placing fittings, and successfully connecting to the main sewer line. This all has to be accomplished while adhering to local codes and regulations, as any slip-ups can lead to hefty penalties. But don’t worry! We’ll guide you through this process with crystal-clear instructions and invaluable tips.
    Remember, designing and installing a DWV system requires precision and expertise to ensure smooth waste flow, prevent clogs, and eliminate the risk of backflow. While our video is designed to empower you with knowledge, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed plumber with experience in DWV system installation for a professional and error-free setup.
    So, tune in, equip yourself with essential plumbing know-how, and dive into the world of DWV systems with us!

    Dang man... I've got 2 giving me a pickle right now... Guys with your experience could probably mentally solve what's taken me 2 hours of staring and figuring... Hopefully i get this one right... Dang old house being replumbed is kicking my butt with the venting for the contractor's fixture placement... I've only been learning new construction for about the past two or three years so hopefully I can figure it out.
    Great work my guy

    When i was an apprentice i was amazed at old galvanized plumbing , like wow , how did a plumber thread those pipes together in that tight space, in the beginning as a plumbing mechanic, i roughed out houses with copper drains and water lines, with cast iron under ground with lead joints , im not amazed when looking at pvc pipes and pex piping , its way easier to install to the point a mechanically inclined person watching a CZcams video can do their own plumbing now .. like my son says, F it , its all getting covered by Sheetrock anyway. LoL

    My friend, your knowledge and mechanics are obviously sufficient, but I sure wish you would have shaken off your primer dobber a few more times before you laid the primer and glue to those fittings. 😃

    Nice work, but what will basement ceiling look like once they finish it? Drains dropped 18”+ inches from bottom joist 😅

    • @theartofplumbing
      @theartofplumbing  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Good question! Yes it does look like a basement, but it's not. The house was raised 12' because of flooding. It's a house on pier and beam like a beach home.

    This is the hardest part of plumbing. Especially if you're measuring cutting and installing. That ladder starts to look like Mt Everest after a couple of hours .

    Why is the.combination tees installed horizontal?It should be on an angle .

    • @theartofplumbing
      @theartofplumbing  Před 10 měsíci

      🤔Well we may not see eye to eye here, but any change of direction pipe is installed horizontally with a slight pitch so that waste can move in a sweeping motion. Long turning radius.
