For the memory of my mate John Scott, a true gentleman who loved this band years ago and introduced me to this special talent. Aw the best pal, we all miss you and i swear i could hear you singing along to Tracyanne last week in Bristol.
Good grief, I can't believe this album is about to turn 16 years old. I still remember buying it in emusic all those years ago and listening for the first time. Such a jewel of an album!
I first heard this perfect soulful gem last week in the Rio cafe across the road from the Lismore in Partick last week. A few minutes later I was introduced to the band, who happened to be sitting a couple of tables down from me n my mate!

Almost brought a tear to my eye. Especially a song this emotionally fueled, beautiful, original, in the modern era of music...it's just amazing. I love this.

Quite a lovely girl, and as someone said here, she seems to have this intoxicating effect... There's this part in the "Let's Get Out of this Country" video where she looks right in the camera after saying, "I'll be pretty..." I don't know; just gives me chills.
not sure why so many music afficinados knock this band...maybe somehow they got tied to Bell and Sebastian unnecessarily. I have always been in love with their songwriting...a band that draws closely from the past in a very delightful manor.
This riff sounds like George Harrisons 'My Sweet Lord'. Naughty camera Obscura ... another one of their songs seems to be based on I Saw Papa Kissing Santa Claus. Still, great band! Wish I could see them.
I saw them live here a week ago. She was a lot prettier in person. She didn't really look like this. I don't know if shes just got a different style going on now hair wise or a weight change or something but she looked and sounded great.

A simple little ballad--even I can play it on acoustic guitar--but its bittersweetness, its northern England melancholy move me every time I hear it.
