I first think of that flag- I’ve practiced TKD for the majority of my life, and the South Korean flag is usually hung alongside the US flag in the dojang. It’s also patched onto uniforms. It’s very iconic to me.
I didn’t really know much about K-Pop until I got there. I don’t actively go and search for K-Pop songs, but every once in awhile I’ll hear a super catchy one.
Korea gets less recognition for its economy but it is totally understandable. I guess the reasons for less recognition are the following: First, we are small sized country. Small sized countries are difficult to get noticed. Second, we are divided between north and south, which make non asians get confused between north and south. Third, the location. When China and Japan two asian giants next to you, its difficult to get noticed. BTS definitely paved way but still long way to go. Also, we are not very crazy on ping pong, that is more China sports.
Koreans are pretty tall, I’m 6’1”3/4 and when I was in Korea a lot of them were taller than me and over 6 feet tall in the 6’2”-6’5” range, same height as my tall Korean friends too
James Prime yeah man! In Korea I felt pretty average height but in America I felt pretty damn tall and I was mostly the tallest and the one that stood out the most
Love your video. Really interesting. When I was at the States I met one American woman who consistently insisted that Samsung is a Japanese company. BTS may helped but still long way to know each other.
Baseball League in Korea is big and more popular compared to Soccer and Basketball League but when it comes to the South Korea Soccer National Team, not even baseball can surpass it...
Haha overly proud Koreans should see this. However, I must say this is indeed an improvement from 20 years ago. When I came to Canada in 2000 as an elementary student, kids ask me where I am from? I said Korea, nobody knew where this country is, so I had to explain that its a country next to Japan, a country that kids knew.
POTATO!!! My mannn!!! Good to hear from you, I hope you’re doing well over there!! I’d like to make a trip back to Korea at some point! Some of my favorite memories while being in Korea came from you guys! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
My HONEST opinion of Korea? Okay, here the GOOD/ BAD what I think of KOREA: 👍🏾👌🏾Beautiful landscapes. K-pop. Kimchi, slurping the BEST noodles, their fried chicken & shrimp. BAD SIDE: 👎🏾Complete obsession w/ their body & face image ( the need to look ghostly white/pale, skinny and “cute” 🤮), youth is “worshipped” it seems. Expensive plastic surgery due to low self image/esteem .Ppl walking and always on cell phones, girls with short, short skirts lengths. High suicide rates.
Kimchi, such a delicious national animal :D
hahahah. Very delicious. The last time I had kimchi was the last time I was in Korea. It’s been too long. Ganna have to find some soon

Ahhh yes. When I was there, I made a video of things I like about South Korea. One of the things was their flag. I like the aesthetic.
K-Pop is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear South Korea. Than their flag, spicy food and baseball.

Hyundai Kia is what I think of 😊
TBH the only thing I know about South Korea is the capital city and that's only because I was doing a quiz the other night.
Haha hey well at least you knew something! South Korea is a solid place to at least visit!
The first thing that comes to my mind about south korea is BTS
The first thing that comes to my mind is E-Mart
All of the kdramas I consume is finally paying off with this quiz🤣
Since when Kimchi is an animal? 🤔
Say a wild kimchi rumbling around in my bushes the other night. Was pretty scary 👀
Did she just say anime
I believe so.
I would love to visit South Korea, love those people. Asians are my favorite. White boy here
South Korea is a pretty cool place. Definitely different from the US, but I had a good time when I was there.
@@JamesPrime1 yeah, I would love to visit there James. I am glad you had a good time, you are so lucky. :)
@@JamesPrime1 there actually more advanced than the us.

Chicagoans seem a bit above average for Americans in terms of what they know about foreign cultures. Way to go, Chicago.
