Bo is literally just following the Kumshot Chimaev playbook. Fight unranked nobodies and claiming that he can beat everybody. Pad the record, build some hype, fight guys who can't grapple so you ragdoll them and take little to no damage...then fight a ranked guy or two before expecting a title shot. Bo is following that playbook to a T

I think Dana is the best, but one thing i do agree with people is getting annoying is stop feeding bums or relative bums to these up and coming monsters.

I’m really surprised they didn’t get Paul Craig for this fight with Bo on 300. I remember when Paul called out Bo a couple months back and I only remember because Chael made a video about it. Maybe that’s not a huge fight either compared to Brundage but I feel like skill wise it’s less of a “squash match” as Chael puts it. I feel like Bo would’ve still been the favorite against Craig too just maybe not such an extreme favorite.

It's not simply the fact that Bo is fighting Uber drivers, it's that he's waiting 6+ months between fights when he's not taking any damage. Would've been great if Bo stole Khamzat's unintentional marketing gimmick of fighting every week as Bo steamrolls into and eventually through the rankings.

bo is going to fight 3-4 times next year and his last fight of the year will be a ranked guy, the reason he took a break is to develop his skills as he is very new to be ready for the ranked fight

Bo hasn't even gone the distance against anyone because he's had first round finishes against tin cans.
Granted, the last fight he had at 294 was actually very clean from the other guy, but bad for a possible groin shot followed by a takedown and then submission that the guy had no chance to get out of.
I am expecting Cody Brundage to come out with some fire and some power, cause he does have some power, but then again Khamzat also has proven to have a very strong jab and took punches from Gilbert Burns and from Usman that would down majority of other fighters and only simply rocked Khamzat, but Bo hasn't been tested. I don't care what his record is, Brundage has 10 wins and has 4 KOs in the UFC.
That's a little different than Bo. Hopefully nobody gets hurt or injured while training for this fight. I want to see Bo get pushed. It's good to lose a fight early in their career, but to learn from an early career loss is more important than a title fight loss.
We can talk as much as we wish, but Bo's match-up and placement on the card are directly related to his pay grade .

It would take a lot for the UFC to ever get passed by boxing now, but its definitely not as great as it was. Too many bullshit matchups and its painfully obvious how Paddy, O'Malley and Bo have had strikingly similar paths thru unranked opponents. Meanwhile dudes nobody likes gotta go thru murderers row if they get on a one win streak.

One hook to the back of the ear and its lights out for anyone. That’s why these guys are so picky about who they fight. The old days were much better than now.

They know that anything can happen, so they want to fight guys who can't grapple and that way they know that if all else fails, they can go for a takedown. Unless of course they catch that perfect punch, kick, knee or elbow that knocks them out in one strike. It's possible, but Bo and Kumshot know the odds are in their favor. They also know that win streaks and undefeated records are massive promotional tools. Everyone forgets that Leon hand picked his opponents, most of which were unranked nobodies and nobody remembers that he hasn't stepped into the cage against anyone younger than 35 in over 5 years. Leon stacked wins, got a win streak, got a title shot, and he was the one to land that lucky shot that knocked his opponent out. He's the champion now and makes millions of dollars for every single fight so it worked out great. Kumshot and Bo are hoping to do the same thing that Leon did

I think Bo is getting what he wants. Brundage isn’t a can. Watch his last fight. He’s a tough kid. I think Bo wants to get more experience. The dude only started MMA two years ago. Do I think Bo can beat Khamzat? Yes. All day. But I understand why he wants to start slow. He wants to be so good that there is no question as to who the goat is.

If Khamzat doesn’t have his grappling…is he that good of a striker? I don’t think so. Gilbert Burns dropped him a few times and outstruck Khamzat. if Usman had 5 rounds he would have beat Khamzat.

Maybe he’s on a cheap introductory deal and isn’t going to fight competition for cheap. This would be the last fight on his contract and then you can expect him to fight higher ranked guys. And also fighters arent generally the same guy they were when they entered the organization as they are after a few years and they definitely do improve, im not sure why you’re convinced otherwise

Justin Gaethje came into the league and fought number 5 on day 1. The UFC has become watered down. The odds alone demonstrate this fight should never have happened. They want to get people saying hes so good that he only needs to fight one top 10 guy and then get a title fight. Kinda like O'Malley. This is the new UFC model.

Justin gaethje was an undefeated regional champion with a record of 17-0 I don't know why you're drawing him as a comparison point.
Bo nickal's striking isn't really tested that well and his takedown on pickett was incredibly suspicious with the knee. Bo's good by all measures so far and he's obviously an amazing wrestler, but why are we trying to find out if someone new to MMA is capable of beating top guys if he's not fully tested yet?
I don't watch wrestling, but I can't imagine how they take eachother down/get into grappling on the ground is the same implementation as it is in MMA. I know by reputation he's gifted on the ground, but if he can't get it to the ground how do we know he can stand and win rounds off of strikers that can defend takedowns? What if he gets clipped and flatlined by a top guy and we find out he couldn't take a hit that well after all.
I'd rather let him build in competition so he gets the experience needed to fight top guys because it'd really suck if we find out he has a major deficit against people who don't have a few fights or are actually talented.
Look at like this ufc doesn’t want want too break the kids heart by throwing him with the best so they gonna slow build him so he gets more experience and has more of a chance to become champ. If he becomes champ that’s like the UFC’s equivalent to Tom Brady

At the end of the day, no matter who it is, if they are walking in new they will have to go through fights before they get a ranked fight. Tbh...that's not a bad methodology. As good as people can be, they still need experience at that level. Further, the guys that ARE ranked had to do the same and now newbies get to just walk in an fight them because they are hyped up? The matchmaking is decided with sales being the most important thing. In reality this sport should have a table like any other sport where if u win you go up if u lose you go down. Then the actual best fighter would be the champ

Jiri got a title shot after 2 fights in the UFC. That's the fastest I know of. Just depends on how talent stacked the division is I guess.
