- Hi there!
I finally finished this cursed project!
So many things just weren't going the way I wanted...
But I did it and she is here - the Goldfish Mermaid!
I just really wanted a magical mermaid on my shelf and what fish type would be more magical than this one?
As I said - I struggled, but - "no retreat, no surrender"!
Hope that you will enjoy this process!
Have fun and see you soon!

Look’s stunning! And again i’m here asking for a reverse mermaid (fish torso/head and human legs)
that would be such a cool doll! i hope she makes it, maybe as a april fools video!
Maidmer? Aidmerm? Idk how other people name this meme-maid, but I want to see the best reverse mermaid ever too :D
i want this too
OMG YES!
I am not really interested in making dolls with animal's heads :) I enjoy making pretty face ups and this is an aesthetic that I want to keep and progress in :)
Your projects are magical and the level of dedication and artistry is god level.
This is hands down my favorite mermaid you've done yet. Those fins were such a hassle, but they turned out gorgeous! Her hair was worth the change, and all those tiny scales-!? So much work went into this doll sculpture, and I love her. She can lure me in with that (pirate's) booty any day. 😍
Thank you so much! :D Struggling is a part of the process. Being stubborn is a really helpful thing here XD
Poppen used the same doll this week. Great to see how completely different they both turned out.
Yeah I saw it like two days ago and thought the same :D This face sculpt is so pretty, I must say!
@@CatmeleonStudio I'm sure you can use that hair again maybe for another centaur doll as a standing pose.
Every mermaid you did is a bless and so she too. She looks perfect! Her faceup is wonderful and all these scales. And I'm happy you give her curves a push. To be honest, she looks even better with wool hair. Maybe you can use them for something else then a doll head. Thank you for bringing this wonderful lady to life! :)
That body is perfect! So much detail! One of my favorites from you for sure 🥰
Thank you so much!
Hi! I love your vids!
She turned out so gorgeous! The fins are literally magical! You always make such beautiful stunners! I especially love how everything you make, you make it in your own way!
MY WAY! XD Yeah... I am stubborn as a mule :P Not a good thing in general but with craft it helps a lot XD I also always had this "special snowflake, not like the other girls" mentality :P I like to make things that I've never seen being made before or at least not too often :) I want my old boring me to be interesting I guess XD
I always kinda wonder what the next popular doll base for customizing is going to be. Artists seem to be sticking to old monster high as base dolls despite the popularity of rainbow high and OMG. Is it just the smaller heads people like about monster high as a base? I like the monster high face molds but Id love to see more customs with the cute bottom heavy body of OMG or that failed cave doll line. I really got tired of the ultra thin stylized monster high body during their hey day.
Edit: wanted to add I never get bored of catmeleons doll work. They could use basically any body because they change the doll into essentially a sculptural piece!
It is a mater of the variety of face molds. You can choose the best face for your project: small nose, crooked nose, big eyes, small eyes, big lips, smiling lips, bitch face, cute face.... And only old Monster High dolls had that. They allowing more realistic end result than flat faces of omg or rainbow high. I am seeing a lot of customizers using the dolls you mentioned as bases recently, but for me (with more proportional, feminine, not childish like body aesthetics), there are only: Monster High, Ever After High, OMG (only bodies) and DC Super Hero Girls... and only the OMGs are still in the making :/ I don't think I would be able to make something from Rainbow High dolls that would still suit my aesthetics. It may change in the future, but for now - I just wish for an old good monster high dolls comeback...
This channel is a blessing I like the sculpts.
As for word 'popular' I honestly would never use such an heavy word because I have no clue where were these even slightly a thing ever. Be it whatever lines you mentioned, never really seen them.
I am from Europe traveled all over and only twice seen some of these dolls that two kids from Italy had and when I asked what they originate from even they didn't know. Their parents got them on a online bid of second hand toys bundles. This was maybe 7-8 years ago.
When talking to people from USA once again I never hear anyone even mention these even once.
What I seen artist use are old random dolls and there are millions of examples and brands but most commonly what artists use are just blank bases that come from China. They are different sizes and shapes, they are dirt cheap also free shipping to Europe. So next to that idk why would ppl bother with sourcing these specifically.
Only recently I found about the Monster High and I guess this is how I found this channel too.
Once again you made a stunning doll, I literally love you so much
Girl that looks amazing!! I really love how the fins came out and she's a beauty!
When I watch other doll customizers the big heads dont bother me at all. But when you shrink them and compare the heads, im like "dude, that head is HUGE!"
Right?! :)
Yayyyy new video !!!
I feel that your mermaid creation is an absolutely stunning piece, the use of clear fins gives a nice, realistic look. 😁
I was aiming for it! Thank you so much!
@@CatmeleonStudio No problem, I have fallen in love with your creative ideas since I first started watching your channel.🥰😍

Also when I'm working with small amounts of UV resin I use finger cots instead of gloves. This still protects my finger tips if I touch any resin but doesn't make my hands sweat. Of course when I'm casting big pieces I still use full gloves but the finger cots are amazing for tiny projects.
That sounds like a handy tip :) I managed not to touch the resin even single time here (and it took hours to made all the fins), so no problem here, but for some more tricky-to-hold project I will definitely try it out! Thanks!
She is utterly captivating. I know I have said this before, but your attention to detail and refusal to accept second best is what makes you a truly magnificent artist. Thankyou so much for sharing your journey with this beautiful creature.
I'm just very, very stubborn XD Thank you for appreciating it!
Great work as always! I love how you actually show us your struggles and all the bad moments and not just the happy shit. I don’t even resonate with doll painting I just stumbled upon you a while back and love how real you are :)
For all the suffering the man eater could seduce me and I’m a woman 😂
So happy to hear that! :) I just think that showing that the process may be hard is more encouraging than showing that it's easy and when someone stumble upon a problem they may think "I am just not good enough for this". You won't succeed if you will give up, but keep on trying and everything will be possible :)
She is absolutely gorgeous!! her fins look so delicate and like they are really floating in the water. the effort you went to is definitely worth it!!
I always admire your skills when you make projects like these. Going through with experience and patience is inspiring me to learn more crafty skills myself.
As for the glue, very likely that there was too much to fully dry in a small space like this head - its also helpful to shake the bottle before use, as some components might have separated inside the bottle. Hope you found other tips as well and that issue won't occur again
Thank you! For the compliments and for the glue tip :) It really might be the small space problem. the head was waiting for the reroot for a long time and the neck hole was pretty small after head shrinking. so maybe, just like the glue won't dry in a bottle, it didn't have enough air coming inside the head....
this is amazing, my dream have a doll made by u, im obsessed
More beautiful and amazing ideas, something I never get tired of in your videos
Unstoppable creativity and incredible dedication ✨❤️
Thank you!
I'm speechless. There are no adequate words in my language to describe how utterly stunning she is! You have outdone yourself on a whole 'nother level.
She turned out absolutely gorgeous! I love how you did her fins! ^^👍🏻💕🧜🏻♀️
I love that you added breeding tubercles (The white dots) to her. They're found on male goldfish, but I think that they're so pretty on mermaids.
She is mysterious, magical, seductive and beautiful. You can almost feel the movement of the water current in this. Thank you for your perseverance- if you had surrendered, we would be lost! What a wonderful masterpiece!
Your goldfish is amazing 👏 love all the little scale details & the paint job. The fins look great on her display 😍🥰
I’m amazed by how quickly you create such magical works of art! ❤️ I love your Goldfish girl and the fins are so beautiful 😍
It was not quickly made in any of my standards XD 5 full days only to figure out how to make the fins -_- But I am very happy that everyone likes her! ^_^
Beautiful! Your work is always so lovely! 💖 Thank you for sharing your creative talent and process with us! 💖
Another beautiful art piece from my absolute favourite doll customiser ♡
It's been almost two weeks since this was posted, and I've come back almost every day, no exaggerations. I really think she's one of the most beautiful dolls I've ever seen, and even though you bring up how much you struggled with her, it shows how incredible your hard work and artistic skills are that she turned out as gorgeous as she is. I love your style and how you give each of your dolls such a distinct sense of movement in their pose. To me, her mermaid tail ripples in such a dynamic manner, and her fins are so delicate that in the thumbnail, I thought you were going to say you used glass. She's an incredible work of art, and I appreciate you sharing her with us.
ahhh very beautiful. love your channel!
She's stunning 😍 I'm really amazed by you sticking to your ideas and not giving up till you succeed
Thank you. I was very very sad working on those fins. I spend most of my vacations (stayed home, but didn't need to go to my regular work) on figuring out how to make them work and not going anywhere further with the whole project. I cried and felt like literal talentles shit. My husband had to keep me mentally stable by talking a lot of nice things to me XD But! Surprisingly, even for myself, I wasn't anywhere near to giving up. It is like practicing strong will :) The more difficulties you will overcome in the past, the more you can deal with in the future :) Glad that it paid of and people can see it :)
Love your channel , your ideas are great and unique . ✨
She’s absolutely gorgeous! Our most aggravating projects usually turn out the best!
I am in awe at all those scales. Amazing work!
Wow! She is absolutely stunning. All of your struggles and frustration paid off. You did a fabulous job on her!
She’s beautiful, and I literally gasped when I saw the fins. They were well worth the effort you put in to them!!
Thank you! They were a nightmare to figure out but I am honestly very proud of the outcome! ^_^
I collect mermaids and underwater creatures. Even have several tattoos of them. Even my son has a pinup mermaid on his thigh for me❤your art is exquisite
I'm pretty sure she'll do an amazing job luring sailors in the water.
So beautiful and detailed♥
AHHHHH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO POST.
I hope you’ve been okay and are safe :) Thank you for your quality work!!!
Alright, now to get to watching this premium content.
Thank you! I am totally fine, just this particular project took me more than I anticipated :P I hope that next ones will be finished and published more close to each other :P
she is EXQUISITE. the fins, the scales, the color palette 💯💯💯
I love your dolls they are so pretty
It’s so beautiful! I admire your resilience and the amount of skill it takes to make something like this!
Once again, a beautifully extended pose and superb crafting of the fish body. Stunning!!! 🙏❤️🌹
she’s absolutely stunning. your determination and dedication to finish this gauntlet of a project is truly inspiring.
I love her face! So beautiful. It’s great that you show us all the things that didn’t work out and how you ultimately achieved your finished doll/sculpture
Oh, gorgeous!
Mermaid butts are not something I like, but the fins make up for it - they are stunning. Really worth the effort.
I'm always impressed how much difference it makes when you add the shadows and blushing on the doll
Right? Not my favorite part of the customization process… but it is just mandatory! Especially when you are not putting clothes on your dolls :P The doll looks 100% better with blushing and shading, even if it’s already a 3d object.
In the end, all that struggle was worth it. What an amazing doll. Those fins are everything!
The fact that you did each of those scales on the tail by hand blows my mind! That must have taken forever.
i admire your persistence with your dolls. She looks gorgeous!
You did good not to give up.All the time you spent making her is worth it,good job!
She looks absolutely fantastic!! Your patience on her fins completely paid off!!!!!
I love her so much!!
She's so dreamy I'm glad you didn't give up on her.
She is STUNNING! Those fins are absolute perfection. She definitely made you put in work, but she was well worth it. 😍
Your voice and mannerisms remind me of my friend from Germany who I miss terribly and it’s very comforting
I'm glad you stuck with it, it turned out elegantly beautiful.
This reminds me of a more deadly version of the dancing goldfish from Fantastia!!!
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I might be a tad biased because I love dark themed mermaids, but this HAS to be one of the best mermaid dolls I've ever seen! I see so few people actually sculp on scales and do such glorious fins! And the black and gold palette is just... *mwah* Perfect. She's gorgeous!
So happy to hear that! ^_^ dark fantasy aesthetics rule!
Tworzysz przepiękne, baśniowe postaci, podziwiam wyobraźnię, talent i precyzję wykonania. Każdy detal jest perfekcyjny. To są dzieła sztuki. Pozdrawiam serdecznie. Monika.
Your work is always exceptional! I watch and rewatch your art so many times!!!! She is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Your projects is goldenfish mermaid is beauty
The black and gold really works, especially with those scales. Even though it was a challenge for the wrong reasons the end result is one of your most appealing dolls yet.
It's great seeing you apply everything you've learned since you began and still come up with new techniques like the fins.
Thank you! With all the ideas that I have, there will be definitely more new techniques to come up with in the future :D
Speaking as an avid owner of Black Moors (the type of goldfish you're basing your mermaid off of), she's perfect. Her having a rounder figure makes absolute sense given the wide, deep bodies on these fish, and considering their habits...I call mine the wrecking crew, lol...skulls lying around is an excellent touch. Amazing as always!
I am very happy to hear that! ^_^ I used to have black moors when I was a kid :) I remembered that they are the prettiest!
I am obsessed with these fins and tail! I'm a freak for fish stuff so this is giving me all the feels.
The perseverance paid off. Beautiful piece of art! And goldfish (carp) will eat anything that fit in their mouth.
To help with the Q&A post I think you could put up something in the community tab. You can even use it to make polls so people can vote on future video suggestions, which questions would be most popular, or even help with your process if you need some outside input.
Yeah... this is a good tip and I need to try put some life in my community tab in the future :P
Your willingness to try new ideas and materials with each doll, plus your artistic style, makes you one of my favorite doll artists on youtube. Thanks for sharing the process with us!
Aaaw! Thank you so much!
I'm so glad i get to watch your video on the day its posted! Your creations are beautiful and I hope you keep making videos.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The amount of detail on this is incredible. She may be the favorite I've seen out of all the models you've created.
This is probably one of my favorite dolls I've seen someone make! She's so beautiful and magical! I absolutely LOVE the fins and mermaid tail! I just love everything about her! She's gorgeous! 💖🥳💕
She’s wonderful and removing the synthetic hair was 100% the right call. Lovely doll! 🥰
Happy to hear that! ^_^
She looks incredible!! I love the shimmer on each individual scale on her tail!
You should make a nautilus mermaid! Your art is so amazing, I love this magical world you’ve created with mermaids, Centaurus and all these other majestic creatures🤍🖤❤️
The fins!!!! Glorious, so naturally flowing
Absolutely stunning! Wow! Huge success! And now you have the experience and knowledge to feel more confident during your next challenging piece! You can do it!
Yes :) And it will come very soon XD I'm sniffing problems already XD But no retreat - no surrender! :D
Wow the scale patterns of her body are gorgeous! So are the color pallets and the fins! Beautiful!!!
Cozy Burrito. I chuckle every time you say it. Another absolutely beautiful piece of Art. Just wow. 😮
This isn't just a doll repaint, but this is an Art !! I love watching the process and the result is everything. Your work is what I'm waiting for on everyweek. I really love and enjoy all of your videos.
Thank you so much!
She's stunning! I think she's my favorite doll so far!!
Love this doll and all of your other creations! The mermaids are my fave and it got me thinking, my oc is a shrimp girl and I think it would be really cool to see a shrimp mermaid!
Wow! Her fins are incredible. The scales are so detailed. You really outdid yourself with her!
She’s gorgeous, and those fins are amazing!
HER FINS LOOK LIKE GLASS!!! She's so cool!!! It was so wort it!
Just beautiful, this is not just a doll repaint this is a fine art sculpture piece. I love the even in a static pose your dolls always have a life and movement to them.
Thank you! The illusion of movement is very important for me in my figurines! :)
Those fins are perfect! I love her, black goldfish are the best goldfish.
The dedication that it took to do the hair and take it out and then put it back in, is crazy! Terrific job!! The body is spectacular!
This is stunning and I've never seen that level of illusion of movement of being under water.... Its incredible
Thank you! I was aiming for it! This movement illusions are very important for me in my figurines so I am so very happy to hear that I succeeded in it!
omg! I LOVE HER!!!!!she's so gorgeous!
I admire your patience with the fins! I know I would have given up on them! She's gorgeous and I much prefer the new hair!
I love watching your videos . Sometimes I don't feel well but the jokes you make changing the limbs of the doll or doing something for it makes me laugh
The amount of details and patience is just ... I have no words. It is a master piece ❤
You should be very happy (and proud) of how this turned out. The act of creating works of art is a process, and it has many challenging twists and turns on the way. This project wasn't "cursed", it was being creative at its finest! Another superb creation 😊
I know what it’s like to struggle with executing an idea and having it fight you. It’s so disheartening. But I am so glad you pushed through and found a way to get it done. I think this is my absolute favorite out of all your dolls.
Thank you for persevering through it!! You are amazing!!
It was a struggle, yes it was! But, surprisingly, I wasn't anywhere near giving up. Good that I am stubborn as a mule :P
@@CatmeleonStudio Hahahaha, yes you are XD you always kick the challenges like a mule would kick its haters XD
that hair is GENIUS oh my god it really does look like its flowing in water
I am in awe at the fact that you made each individual scale! You’re so talented
I know you had a nightmare with them but those fins are absolutely stunning. By far the best and most unique I've ever seen 😍
Literally anyone who works with dolls like this can have amazing out of context moments.
EDIT: I read "What, Of This Goldfish, Would You Wish" in English early this year and just wrote a character analysis and looking back at this I think it fits well. So the short story has a talking, wish-granting goldfish, and thinking about it the fish having a mermaid form would definitely work.
I'm so happy you didn't give her up! This doll is a masterpiece! I adore her! 😍
WOW! I feel like I might say it all the time... but I think this is my most favorite creation so far!!
She is stunning - well worth the extra time that went into her ❤❤
Goldfish booty 🐟💰
She’s exquisite.I know you had problems, but you learnt so much, she is well worth what you did to her.The smaller head puts her more proportional!and so does those beautiful smaller eyes. Your sculpting is always above and beyond and it means she looks like she was meant to be like this .Her pose is perfect too. She’s the best mermaid I have seen yet .So waiting for you to do another lol! Every one of your dolls looks like it’s been plucked from a magical fairy tale.I love your work so much.I can’t believe I missed this one ..I love her so much 🥰
