Blown away by Tommy’s interpretation of a First Nations initiation ceremony. The sounds of the birds, the bush and indigenous instruments are just awesome. Tommy is such a brilliant showman and at the same time he’s a genuine nice guy.
Thx mike . Appreciate the reaction . I was lucky enough to see Tommy live not long ago live in Melbourne . He was mesmerising. A one man show . Aboriginal initiation for a male child entering manhood . His interpretation takes you on a journey to the sounds and smells of that initiation .

Imagine you are sitting around a camp fire 🔥, people are chanting, singing, dancing. Using traditional clapping sticks, There are insects, birds, cracking fire.
He plays from his heart, so the melody is the same each time he performs this, but the sounds change. Hard to explain.

The title CGP, or Certified Guitar Player, was bestowed on Tommy Emmanuel by Chet Atkins and is held by only 3 other guitarists in the world - John Knowles, Jerry Reed and Steve Warriner.
G'day. This is an amazing example of someone who is a master of the instrument.
Most probably the greatest guitarist ever. The sounds he gets out of a guitar, incredible.
Tommy also was part of John Farnham’s band for awhile . Look for him on future Farnsey video’s
I was fortunate to see Tommy perform in Pennsylvania and he did perform this First Nations Initiation Ceremony interpretation... it was fascinating, and as an Aussie I was proud of his skill with guitar.... that guitar took a beating :-) Thanks for your reactions.
Tommy is pure Genius. Acclaimed by best in the industry as being one of the best guitarists in the world. This is a unique piece and is a nod to aboriginal ( Australian First Nations) initiation and all Australians would recognise the sounds as animals, birds, kangaroos, typical bush sounds of the outback. Brought to life by this man’s genius.
Once you know this background you can appreciate the piece.

Great reaction mike... other people make percussion sounds and noises on their guitar but I'm pretty sure Tommy was the first. I first saw this song nearly 40 years ago...
The first time I heard this...I was also a loss for words. How on earth could all those sounds be coming from one guitar. It took a while for me to understand that it represents a firsts nations initiation ceremony ❤
Tommy is letting us 'hear' the Ceremony of a native Corroboree. He brings us the sound of the wind, stomping of feet in the red sandy desert...birds flying over head...even the sound of rain and thunder...he lends his voice to the sound of Initiation too and that final segment here we hear the heartbeat of our red centre.... Tommy is just brilliant. it's raw and it's so creative.

@@justlinsu I love being reintroduced to Tommy. I'm pretty sure I saw him live at one point, but he's been off my radar for some time now. He's the GOAT among other guitarists - even if the world at large has never heard of Tommy Emmanuel, the guitar world has.

Their very few people who can make a acoustic guitar 🎸 sound so good
Tommy does this to amuse and change himself mkst of the time i think
You should here when actually playing it like Spanish music it something special
Tommy doesn't let limitations get in the way always doing different things with a guitar
Some people may not like it because its definitely different
But for me personally to see a master in action of anything instrument is always entertaining
Same with vocalist and actor's sports is always special
These people are all on a different platform to the rest of us the time dedication involved
You just know its part of who they are and they live it breath it as it has control of them
Just finished watching john Farnham documentary tribute
Tommy was on it saying how when he told john he had addiction
John wasn't happy Tommy hadn't told him earlier and said come do something about mate
So Tommy did and john had tommy playing with him and help him get his career going again
Tommy never looked back since

His talent actually was part of his career issue's early success worked against him

Tommy's first love was as a drummer, in Tommy's case a percussionist; hence his all inclusive style. Thanks Mike. Cheers from Sydney.
Tommy and his brother Phil ( deceased, also a guitar genius) only had the radio for music when they were young. They would try to copy the sounds of the music that they heard on the radio not realising that it was made by different instruments. This is where Tommy's versatility and creativity began. This piece is about an Australian indigenous manhood secret business ceremony. It takes you there.

There is a young German kid(I think) doing this sort of stuff on yt. Everyone is saying he is groundbreaking.. nope Tommy been doing it for decades.. Not sure if Tommy was first, but he definitely been doing it a long time!
I bought the CD when it came out but assumed there were at least 2 or 3 band members until I saw the video. Awesome.
Not a copier, he's the initiator.
That does not seem like a song to me, Imagine if another person in the world, tried to copy this and do it the same, It would be impossible. It like a unique interaction with the instrument and sound waves created and only he would be able to perform this and make it sound and feel like that.
Think I seen this once before and it just crazy talent and unique experienced he creating.
Think I seen him once or twice in traditional music bands or with other artists. Saw him with the band Dragon at some point and also does some song with Jimmy Barnes.
