    I found out about the interview at a short notice (mainly due to technical issues with my email) and was very worried. I listened to your video whilst doing other things and tried to follow the few things that I could in the given time and gave the interview in my car whilst on work.
    Safe to say that I passed the interview.
    You have been a great help and I can't thank you enough to express my gratitude. I told myseld that if I pass, I will leave you a comment, so here I am. Thank you once again.
    PS: one of the interviewers on the panel looked very much like you but due to my nerves I didn't look carefully enough. Got me thinking afterwards though.

    Hi Carol, thank you for this video! I have my Interview in a few days, do you think it’s wise to bring my notes into the interview to fall back / refer back on as sometimes I struggle keeping to points ?

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  Před rokem

      My pleasure, glad it helps. Usually you only have notes in front of you if you have a presentation or a portfolio of work to share, no notes to answer interview questions, so I'd say no. Don't worry if you're a bit nervous and go off the point a little, interviewers expect nerves. Just try your best and be confident that you've prepared. Some applicants go to interviews with no preparation. Perhaps use simple mnemonics to remember key points. I really hope it goes well. Let us know how you get on ❤

    Hello would like to know could my application be refused because I'm only sitting my gcse maths in May? I've sent of my application and explained that I'm currently doing my maths.
    Could they still accept me.
    Many thanks love the video

      Hi Catrina is it for apprenticeship or UCAS pre-reg degree or nursing associate foundation degree? It will usually depend on Uni & course. You won't be offered a formal place without your GCSE but they may call you for interview and send offer pending result. I hope that helps. It's best to ring or email course programme lead or admisiion lead or course admin / contact email that you can find on line, as they would be able to answer for sure. Good luck with your application and interview. If they say you have to wait until result don't worry just apply after. Take care ❤

    What good questions should I ask at the end of the interview?

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Zoe you could perhaps ask about the start date of the apprenticeship or a question about the placements you'll be working in are good questions. Good luck in your interview! 😊

    before you begin, ponder this: Hidden costs of being in professions like this one are not made obvious by recruiters. And there are a lot of hidden costs that you will find out about further down the line: working unsocial hours will damage your social/family life, burn out, illnesses...yes, doing night (cemetery) shifts will have a detrimental effect on your body. A lot of NAs are guided by greed.. they believe it's an easy, glamorous job. Nothing can be further from the truth. Only in 2022 134 NAs left the register. My advice: do your own research...if it's for the money you are doing it...don't do it.

      I agree nursing is a challenging profession, and I've had many ups and downs in my own career that I have shared on my career videos, but I've never regretted it. There are many career opportunities and you make a difference to people's lives. Nursing is not for everyone and I agree people must do their own research and connect on forums to see what the reality is like and hear from people who have completed courses and work in roles. Once registered, there are part time opportunities or agency work if you want more flexibility and they are not being offered with your current employer.
