- genshin impact In the 4.8 update, we will receive a free character, three new skins (one of which will be free), and a new summer event featuring a new Natlan mechanic. Let's dive into what you can expect in version 4.8.
Version 4.8 is set to release on July 17, 2024, marking the final patch in the Fontaine cycle as we transition to Natlan. Expect a trailer for the Pyro region in the special program, similar to the footage of Fontaine we saw in version 3.8.
The summer event has been highly anticipated, featuring a temporary location available for 40 days. According to information from hxg diluc, the event is hosted by one of the witches of the Hexenzirkel. We might meet a mysterious witch named Emelie, mentioned by several Fontaine characters. The event theme will revolve around various fairy tales, likely inspired by European authors.
The characters invited to the event include Wanderer, Kirara, Navia, and Nilou. With Wanderer currently in the 4.6 banner, Navia and Nilou are more likely to appear in the 4.8 banners. Nilou hasn't been featured for a year, and Navia is expected to get a rerun before version 5.0. Additionally, you can expect reruns of Wriothesley and Shenhe. Although there's no information about new characters yet, a release of 4-star characters like Prison Girl or Dahlia is possible.
During the event, we will test a new mechanic from Natlan involving mounts. Rumors suggest there will be a dragon in the location that we can ride. Interestingly, the dragon's name matches a creature buried in Dragonspine, but it is likely a different beast, similar to those that will inhabit the Pyro region.
Insiders have hinted that version 4.8 will introduce three new character skins. Initially, there were two sets of characters considered: Albedo, Sucrose, Amber, or Wanderer, Nilou, and Kirara. Given that Wanderer, Nilou, and Kirara are involved in the event, they are more likely candidates for the new skins.
Typically, developers provide a free skin for a 4-star character when releasing new skins. If the set includes Albedo, Sucrose, and Amber, miHoYo would have to give us two free skins, which is unlikely. Therefore, Kirara's skin is expected to be the free one.
With a free character in the 4.6 update and a free weapon in the 4.7 update, version 4.8 is likely to feature a free character. The identity of this character remains unknown.

Still hoping for a different set of characters. If it's some kind of fairytale associated with the Hexenzirkle, it would make more sense to involve Albedo or Mona or even Diluc :/
i feel like it'd be better for the (sorta) newer characters to get more attention though, since the characters from mondstadt have already been in various events while characters like scara and kirara haven't even really gotten a chance
@@langaco Except Scara had a whole interlude dedicated to him and was the main antagonist of Sumeru. And while he may not have been the main focus of the Interdarshan event, he still had a prominent role.
Kirara, while not necessarily the center of the event, has shown up numerous times already.
A lot of Mondstadt characters, in my opinion, have the most potential to be deeply involved with the lore or have the most mysteries about them. But they haven't been the main focus of anything big lately. The last events were the potion and cat event and barely anything happened in either.
And my point still stands- if they wanted Scara or Kirara to be the main focus in an event, I'd rather be an event that makes sense. Why not an Inazuma-related event? Have either of them (and Nilou) be involved in a Hexenzirkle feels forced, in my opinion, because none of them have connections or reasons to be involved with the Hexenzirkle.
I can maybe make an excuse for Scara because the Hexenzirkle are involved with Irminsul. But that's it.
Albedo, Mona, and Diluc- on the other hand- do have ties with the Hexenzirkle. Diluc's is more subtle but there's a lot of hints that he's strongly connected to N.
It's why I liked last year's Windblume event, even though the focus was on Collei and Sucrose. The way they brought the new and old characters together made sense. Plus, we got Hexenzirkle lore AND Albedo, Mona, and Klee were included.
Sorry the rant- I've just been fed up with Genshin events lately :(

@@pinkraven7043 yeah, i guess that's true, but genshin might just be doing this because the three of them are really popular characters. it might get people to log into the game again that haven't in a while, and it seems that barely anyone cares about mondstadt characters anymore. i agree with you, it'd be really nice to see the og characters appear in events again, but maybe they've just gotten too old for this sorta stuff. considering that so many new characters have been added since mondstadt + liyue, it barely seems like a possibility for them to start focusing on the older ones properly again. i like mondstadt characters, but their stories weren't too developed and i think that's the reason why not too many people are interested in seeing more of them. newer characters like nilou and scara have had a bunch of backstory, which has gotten the players to get attached to them. i'm not saying it's a good thing that mondstadt characters have been losing the players interest, but it's refreshing to see new characters get events for themselves. i guess all we can do is wait, and maybe the next event will focus on mondstadt characters again. it's only a matter of time until genshin remembers they exist lmao
