      Jeremy, clearly you know nothing of boxing. Go look at Mayweathers earlier fights. When he changed his name he changed his style. An the only reason he hadn't gone heavy in recent years is because he was always thinking about the next fight, well this is it. So he can go all out.
      That said I doubt he will. He will point him out to be safe for sure, unless Conor looks like a bigger joke than the experts think. But look he gas'd to diaz in like 6 minutes in what was essentially a boxing match. He is going to gas by round 7 and be dead by the end of the match if he can manage to last that long. So yes it is going to be violent and ugly for Conor after Mayweather rains down 1-2000 punches on him, because Conor will be missing nearly every shot while Mayweather is popping him with all of his. He has done it time and time again to people who are better than conor in all areas.

    • @factsmachine7233
      @factsmachine7233 Před 7 lety +3

      Jeremy Stillwell let me put it this way.. I think federal agents should be seated ringside and there should be a clause in the contract that if Floyd willingly carries this fight longer than 5 rounds he will be arrested on the spot and indicted for felony assault. That's how violent this will be.

Conor has 3 loses which means he can be beat. He has never defended a belt while there are UFC fighters who have been champions for years without losing their belt. Conor has fought 2 champions in the UFC but he talks like he's the greatest of all time.

He is a loudmouth. There's a man with 12 more title wins than Conor with less loses than Conor who is also humble, his name is George St Pierre.

    Whats up with all the comparisons? this is unique. We're okay with it because it's hilarious. Plus, MMA fans know "Mystic Mac" has a knack for predicting unthinkable things. These mainstream talking heads still don't know enough about MMA and MMA's athletes to criticise them properly. MMA is a completely different game from Boxing, so saying Conor's "already lost three times" doesn't compare with a Boxer's inflated record because Dana (usually) doesn't allow fighters to run from tough opponents. Not saying that Floyd's record has come by beating bums, but Boxers in general fight a large number of low caliber fighters with ideal style match ups to build an impressive record. An extreme example of this would be Mark Hunt's MMA record (13-11-1). His 3rd fight in MMA was against Wanderlei Silva, his 4th was against Mirko Cro Cop, his 7th, 8th and 9th was against Josh Barnett, Fedor Emelianenko (The HW GOAT), and Alistair Overeem. All of these guys except Overeem were in their prime.

    Confirmation that Colin doesn't have a clue about MMA. Not dominating because he has 3 losses (two of which weren't as a "UFC fighter"). Nothing like boxing where losses can completely change legacy. There's too many different styles, matchups etc. to expect any fighter, no matter how great, to go their career undefeated. Jon Jones would be the exception only for that DQ loss.

    • @RationalPolice
      @RationalPolice Před 7 lety +6

      It's not the same in both sports at all. Most boxers who have a promising amateur career will be handled with care by their promoter. They get to cherry pick fights early on and they fight way more frequently early on to build their record. Once they reach the top contender status then they fight real fighters but by that time they will already be around 20-0. In MMA many great fighters lose early on and outside of the UFC. It's not a knock on them. You can't be expected to be well rounded early in your career so there will always be fighters who are more experienced than you in one aspect of fighting. Boxers don't have this problem because they can have an extensive amateur career. You never hear of MMA fighter's extensive amateur careers but you do in boxing with Olympic boxers and guys like Vasyl, GGG, Rigo, AJ, etc. Records and losses matter more to legacy in boxing.

Sure, he's lost before but comparing someone who trash talks and loses in a MMA fight to an athlete like Floyd who is not in an environment like an MMA fighter is not even comparable. If all that Colin is saying is that McGregor is a trash talker, then he's right. To say that McGregor has no chance, Colin is dead wrong.

    Dear Colin,
    First, I agree with you about the lack of class amongst both fighters. Most fighters come from very poor backgrounds and hence do not have the most tasteful upbringings. But then again this is combat sports, not politics and trash talk comes with the territory.
    Second of all, you make it sound like Conor is some deadbeat C-level fighter. He is a 2 weight World Champion and repeated the same incredible feat 'twice' in two different organizations - at the highest level!
    Third, Conor has time and time again audaciously predicted the impossible and actually backed up his prediction with real-world action. Which if you think about it... is quite a staggering accomplishment in it alone! No one other than Muhammad Ali had the balls to actually make predictions on what he is going to do, staking his reputation in front of the whole world and follow through on his predictions! Conor has done it time and time again with striking accuracy which has dumbfounded the so-called experts/analysts and fans everywhere!
    So yeah, common logic says this 'novice boxer' stands no chance against the greatest most elusive fighter of all time. But odds or logic don't apply to Conor Mcgregor. He is a Unicorn. And in some strange way... the stars seemed to have aligned for him.

    the dumbest thing about comparing conor's losses with floyds flawless pro record is that Connor only had one amateur fight in mma which he won in the first round (if memory serves) then he went straight to professional fighting while he was much more fresh and had much more growing to do as a martial artist so he was bound to have losses early in his pro career (the Nate loss was fair and square). Floyd had fought so much at amateur (84-8) and then at pro that he has his style totally locked in.

You obviously have no idea what Cowherd is saying, but he makes 100% sense in his comparisons, because McGregor is nothing more than an amateur when it comes to BOXING. McGregor is an amazing MMA fighter, but this isnt an MMA fight, it is gonna be a BOXING match, against an undefeated boxing champion. So regardless of how good McGregor is at MMA, it's irrelevant when he has to play according to BOXING rules.

    ..mcgregor is a loudmouth but he is not just a loudmouth, colin don't get it but mcgregor is the jordan of mma, he is the ali of mma, dude has won titles in 2 different weight divisions - which had never been done before in ufc, he needed 13 seconds to knock out jose aldo, who had lost once in 11 years, yeah he lost to diaz but he took that fight on 13 days notice and moved up 2 weight divisions and he won the rematch, conor mcgregor is a legend.

      You're crazy. The Jordan or Ali of MMA? C'mon dude. The Jordan of MMA is Anderson Silva. Conor will go down as a legend, and his accomplishments in the UFC in such a short amount of time are amazing. But he has to do much more than just winning two title fights to be even considered for GOAT status.

    His whole point disproves his whole point.....anything can happen in sports, there is a chance that the lowly Wimbleton player could beat Federer on any given day, that type of stuff does happen, the thing with boxing is that the underdog could be losing the whole fight and get one good punch in to win

    Here is something to consider. Mayweather is such a huge favorite and considering he is all about the money and this fight is just an exhibition and it is his last fight he may take a dive and probably pocket over a billion dollars.

    There is nothing that Colin is saying that is wrong. all the mma fans dont get it . this is a BOXING match. Connor hast had one pro boxing match ever and he thinks he is gonna step into the ring with one of the top 50 boxers of all time and win!?
    lets be clear Connor wins a mma fight against Floyd inside of 30 seconds!!!! but look at the world class boxer Floyd has made look dumb, he has fought HOF guys and they didnt win one round. i just cant see it going Connors way. the build up and the press conference are going too be the best part of the fight.
    Floyd wins by unanimous decision
    sticking and moving all 12 rounds
    Connor goes into survival mode after the first four rounds and just wants to finish the fight on his feet.. like dozens of other guys before him.

    How many times has the underdog scored the first touchdown? Only takes that one sweet hit to win in boxing. People love Conor because he's outside his box fighting instead of settling for being told he can't do something. It's money and odds to everyone except for Conor. It's nothing to lose for him. He has everything to win. I love that.

    I didn't think Colin would be so harsh towards McGregor. "Loudmouth"? Really, Colin? Just watch Conor outside of the press conferences and watch him during his fights. He talks the talk but he backs it up by walking the walk. The man brings so much passion to what he does and he's an absolute beast in the octagon. I have McGregor taking this one home, honestly.

    Mcgregor vs Mayweather is like bringing the All Blacks to play vs New England Patriots. Both are dominants in their own thing, but they wouldn't have a chance. David Haye nailed it comparing Mcgregor's odds with those of a boxer getting a whole in one in a golf tournament. It's true, it might happen, Mcgregor might connect a lucky punch and knock Mayweather out, but... Seems unlikely

    Two losses via submission prior to his UFC career. One UFC loss to Nate Diaz via submission. The man is 22 - 3 because of submissions, he's never been KO'd and he is dominant. This is a punching exhibition, Conor's specialty. McGregor has a better chance than a lot of people are led to believe. Cowherd - get your facts straight.
