Such a sweet song by Elton John. I read once that these lyrics were inspired by Bernie Taupin's first visit to the US. He tried to capture the spirit of California and how different the women/culture in America were from those in England (both good!:), however he also once said in an interview that the song was about his wife at the time who was a seamstress working for California bands. She had sewed patches on Elton's jackets and jeans thus the reference to a 'seamstress'. No matter what it is about it, is still a beautiful song with perfect vocals. Thanks so much guys for reacting to this one!🧡

Fabulous song from Elton John, this was a collaboration between Elton and his long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin, who wrote the lyrics. I love Elton's voice, so expressive and so distinctive. Other great songs are I'm Still Standing, Candle in the Wind and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Thanks so much for your reaction, guys, always interesting and enjoyable. Take care now and keep well! 😊❤

    Very good reaction video, lads.
Between 1969 and 1976, Elton John released two and sometimes three albums per year, plus toured the world repeatedly. Each album was better than the previous one, as hard as that is to achieve. And every album was written by Elton and Bernie, played by the same core musicians and produced by the same producer, Gus Dudgeon. Yet we never felt like we were hearing the same formula or variations of the same songs. Each album was a progression from the last, each record full of delightful surprises.
The early to mid 1970s were a great period to be a growing child, in the West.
I am from Montreal, and so we were exposed not only to British and U.S. music, movies and television, but to the entertainments and cultures of all of Europe, of many African countries, of Latin nations and also we had the great Rock music that came from our own country. Although the population of Canada is one tenth that of the United States, somehow at least 25% of the most famous entertainers in the U.S. have always been Canadian. I hope your exploration will bring you to the Great White North many times. Enjoy.

Elton has always had a bond and today still has the same people who are still alive 😄and they still play live. He went into the studio and wrote his songs (vocals and piano) in 30 minutes max. Then the band members learned the songs and after that, they all wrote their own parts. Gitar wrote the guitar part, bass guitar wrote the bass guitar part, Drummer wrote the drum part, then practiced it a bit and recorded it straight away. Elton is a pure musical genius. He would get lyrics from Bernie Taupan and read through them a few times. Then a hook would pop into his head and he'd play it on the piano. Then the whole song would come to him, fully formed and he'd copy it down. Miraculous!
