- Remember the one Muk Scovillian team that was obnoxious to deal with but now there's an even more absurd version in Generation 9 Scarlet & Violet Regulation F VGC with Smeargle back in the game for the first time since Gen 7. 2020 LAIC VGC Champion & 3rd Place at both the 2019 and 2022 Pokemon VGC World Championships trolls the start of the new year, new format and new ladder season with some toxic moody tricks.

In case anyone has the misfortune of playing into this team I want to mention that many moves bypass accuracy and deal double damage when used against Minimize, including: Heavy Slam, Heat Crash, or if you are really desperate Dragon Rush and Body Slam (or if you are really, really desperate Flying Press and Stomp).
Alolan Muk is 114.6lbs (52kg), so any Pokémon over 343lbs (156kg) will deal at least 160+ Base damage using Heavy Slam or Heat Crash. Pokémon over 573lbs (260kg) will deal 240 Base damage Heavy Slams and Heat Crashes.

I never knew about dragon rush doing that. One of my favorite moves but I acknowledge it’s not very reliable

In the indigo disk dlc, there is an npc with the moody smeargle + muk combo. I too made the mistake of knocking out the smeargle first. I got wiped by some rando who only had 2 mons.

I think tera ghost on Muk works much better. Makes you immune to sacred sword and allows you to swap out from perish trap.

OH MY GODDDDD THIS IS SO ANNOYING IT TOOK ME 10 SEASONS TO FINALLY STOP RUNNING HAZE ON CHIEN-PAO AND THIS POPS UP NOW THAT +6 MINIMIZE MAKES ME WANNA DIE AHHHH
If this starts to become common, we should expect a new wave of Haze users to come out to rain on Muk's parade.
I've already swapped my trick room mon to dusclops just for haze after fighting this team twice

I've been using calm mind on spectrier. With all the dozogiri teams and moody muks, it might be time to bring haze
I was running clear smog on amungus and haze on primarina for this team. Loved watching them set up and then haze clearing all boosts before I hit it with water hyper voice :)

That last game. I'm pretty sure you only use two attacking moves. Knock off and then you use close combat. 😂
The entire strategy is literally hard-countered by Worry Seed. lmao. You should see how often my rain team+Rilla gets forfeited against by all Smeargle/Muk teams.

It chose a different move before but was encored! So as soon as it’s encored it’s used it’s last move
@@jaredjargoon9101 ah right... so it chose a different move, got encored and had to choose extreme speed instead. Only then it got the priority. Thanks!
@amoose2110 Encore and extreme speed both are +2 priority bracket moves and so since Scream tail is faster it will go first since moves on the same priority bracket go back to accounting for just speed.
