Thank you somuch for these videos Leesa, they have been a true saviour in this process! I have a question, if you know: If I'm the reference person, should I first submit my application for a student visa, and right after my spouse applies for her fammily immigration? Or is this done in a kind of joint application?
As far as I remember, you need to create two different account at Udi.no but can submit as a joint application.
Is there isna age limit to get student apartment and students of additional education can get the student housing
😍😍
Hi @LEESA
I like your videos, it is very useful for us in this situation. Me and my husband will be soon moving to Norway. My husband's work permit already came from UDI and then we have submitted family immigration form for myself. Now we need to take VFS appointment for document submission so please guide us which subcategory we need to select dependent visa or family immigration. If possible please help us. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Leesa, please could you help me in guilding me on steps to take inorder to come over with my family to norway.i want to study medicine and also be doing stockfish business partimely.
For medicine you need to be fluent in Norwegian and also as a student you cannot do any business in Norway.
Could you please explain the process to apply for family together with applicant from home country.
Availabe option in UDI is to apply for family members once u r already in Norway.
No, it's not. UDI is where you fill out the application no matter where you are applying from. You have to register separate application for family immigration. You just have to select residence permit for the reference person as study permit while registering your family immigration application.
Hi i have some more questions for e.g i get spouse visa of Norway on own funds so can i will be able to get a student accommodation?
If you partner is student you can get student housing.
If we get married before the age of 24, can we not come to Norway to study?
Dear Leesa,
How many children are allowed on a student visa?
If one has more than one child, does it mean they need to show much more income per annum than the required amount?
Thx
As far as I remember you do not have to show extra amount. Check udi.no to confirm
THank You Leesa for your very impormative video about family immigration. I have 2 questions,
1. Do you know that how long VISA is valied before land on Norway for dependent? I mean that, Me and my wife both going to apply same time (me as a student), but she (dependent) will not come with me for first time. She planned to come later after 3 or 4 months. So I want to know that how long she can stay in home country before VISA expire for first land on Norway.
2. How can I apply VISA for children? Do we need to submit separate application for children apart of my wife's application? or can we include kid in the same application?
Thank you.
1. Usually the entry visa is valid for 3 months but I have also seen people getting the entry visa for 6 months as well.
2. You have to create separate application for kids as far as I know.
@@LEESAS Thank you. I'll check further details on UDI. Somethings are unclear in UDI. 🙂
@@LEESAS and keep up your good work help people out there. 👍
hi Lessa, my wife is in Norway just been 2 months. Now we want to apply as a dependent with 2 children. I am wondering can I show bank balance in my account in my home country or not?
It is always safe to show the amount in applicant's account. If you do not have option, showing amount in home country should work as well.
Hello dear Leesa,
can a student applying for student visa pay separate visa fees for student visa, then pay separate visa fees for family immigration for his children and spouse? i mean pay student visa fees alone, then pay family immigration fees for each accompanying family member or its a lumpsum for all family members accompanying the student?
Secondly can a student apply for family immigration if his course of study is only one year in Norway?
Yes, you have to pay fees separately. For family immigration, you need to have at least 6 months left of your study.
Hello, do i need to deposit total amount stated by udi for spouse visa to university or only mine? Expecting for clearification.
As mentioned in the video, you must deposit amount for student and show the remaining amount for spouse in bank account.
@@LEESAS yes i got the info told in your video. But while asking to USN they told hat thye presume it had to be that all? So wondering whether rules are different as per university? Hope to get clearfication
@@maheshbhandari5603 You can do it in both ways for family immigration. Either you can deposit the whole amount for family immigration to the university's account or you can just deposit the required amount for student and show the rest in bank in your home country. The only thing that University need to do is send you the offer letter with the total amount in case you want to deposit the whole amount in their account. Other than that they have nothing to do with your family immigration. You can proceed it on your own.
Hey Leesa..I am from india..my husband got a citizenship of Norway in June 2022 and I have applied for spouse visa in January 2022..I haven’t received any answer yet..could you tell me how much time it will take for my answer from embassy..plz
The current waiting time is 4 months. It can change anytime. Go to udi.no, go to "Have Applied" and then you will be able to see waiting for each visa category.
Hello Leesa, I noticed you said that the decision for the student and the spouse comes at the same time when applying from the home country. However, I (the student) have already received a "granted permit" decision and my spouse's application hasn´t been processed yet. Do you know if this happens often and what could be done?
I also saw other different cases where the student has gotten their decision but spouse has not. This has been common this year. It might be because of a lot of incoming people in Norway this year. There is nothing that can be done from your side other than waiting for the decision.
@@LEESAS Ok, thank you very much!
@@AdrianGV46 so did you get residence permit for your spouse, as i too have applied along with my spouse so just curious to know whether the visa comes at same time
@@maheshbhandari5603 Hello, my spouse hasn’t received her permit actually. However, they are currently inside the estimated time for the decision so I guess that’s normal. There are also options to travel together and libe in Norway while one of you receives a permit, depending on your nationality, so you should check them out at UDI
Hello Adrian, just curious to know how long it took for your spouse to get family immigration visa. As am also planning to apply this visa soon.
Hi thanks alot for the information. I am having a query, I have a year of baby and I am from India I wan to apply for Norway I need to know about the accommodation and my wife had done Pharm D , and she is a lecturer in India pls need to know about the expenses and what all the requirements and and expenses, thank you
visit udi.no and go to family immigration, you will find all the information their. You wife should have a source of income or bank balance that can cover the living expenses for your family, which is around 287,000 NOK.
Great information! What is the proof that one needs to show that one year study is left for the reference person? Could you help?
Basically they have your information. When you study started and when it will end. So, when you apply they will have all these information.
@@LEESAS thank you ☺️
Do i need to select family immigration if have to my spouse along with me. Or do we need to make a separate udi account for applying? Expecting Clarity on this. Thank you
Need separate UDI account for spouse.
Mahesh jee...Did you manage to apply for your family together with you??
Whixh is the better option?
Applying for student visa with spouse and children at the same time is best or after reaching norway than aply for family .?
Apply at the same time, you are more likely to get the decision same time. When you apply separately, it can take up to 6 months to get the decision.
One more question that is study permit with spouse will be schengen visa or not
Yes, it will be schengen visa. There is no any visa that only allows to enter Norway but not schengen zone.
Hello I wanna know about depend visa. Me & my boyfriend planned to go abroad. Soo but we planned to marry in next month. Then I wanna do my degree & now I’m in 2nd yr. Then after marriage can we come together to norway? (Husband depend visa)
Yes, you can.
Hi. Thanks for these info. Are these information still valid for 2023? Thanks.
You need to pay tuition fees in 2023
nice work Lessa. I have a query. my sister in law (age 55) lives in Norway. can she call my spouse to norway on family immigration?? your help will be appreciated.
No, she cannot.
i have 2 question... do we both me n my partner need to have completed 24 yrs age or 24 years running is fine?? 2nd do the years of marriage affect for processing
Both of you must complete 24 years. Years of marriage does not affeect the processing.
In this question,I need to ask you, for example I am 24 and she is like 20,do we qualify the requirements thank you
if spouse has medical issue can he/she apply for family visa?
Depends on what type of medical issue she has. I have not seen any rule saying you cannot come to Norway if you have this disease but you also need to think will she be able to work in Norway? If not, its not a good idea.
Hi im applying for family visa last year how long my visa to be granted? Thank you
Depends on status of your spouse who is living in Norway. If she has to renew her visa every year, you also have to renew it every year.
@LEESA my wife is a citizen in norway and this is my ist time to apply a family visa . I'm waiting for my result of my visa
Hi
Mam kindly tell me
Can I apply for student visa as I am married and having 3children
Yes, you can
Hi Mam plz tell me requirements for family visa of Norway on pharmacist base.I have 1 baby.
My second question is this for e.g i got spouse visa of Norway for language course B2 level on own funds to recognize my diplomas and i got entry permit once i will reach in Norway i must be get oppointment to the police station to get my residence card so i should pay for that residence card?
I really do not understand what you mean by spouse visa for language course B2 level?
@@LEESAS Mostly people don't know about this kind of visa i was expecting may be you know something about it anyways thanks for your reply
@@farrukhnaz410 There is nothing as such spouse for Norway for language course B2 level. Either you have spouse visa or you have visa for additional education. Are you trying to say that your wife is applying for language course and your are applying for spouse visa?
@@LEESAS Yes my wife applied for language course for additional education we both got visa my visa is dependent visa i hope you got my point now so kindly can you guide me that can we able to take a room in student housing or like something and 2nd in our visa approval letter there is mention that we must be report nearest police station after reaching in Norway within 7 days to get your residence card so when i get appointment for residence card there is a fees for that residence card or its free.
@@farrukhnaz410 You can live in student housing with your wife. You do not have to pay for resident card.
Is study permit is extendable after two years or not???
It is not.
Hello Leesa... Thanks for the great work.
My question: If I reach Norway as a masters student. How much do I need to show in my Norwegian bank account to apply for my dependant wife? Will it still be 287,000 or just the 158,000 NOK since I already got visa.
Secondly, my wife is 24yrs this year but we got married when she was 22yrs old. Hope it's okay since she is currently 24yrs now. (Nigerian).
It will be 287,000. Even if you have got study permit you still need to have the financial background to support yourself and your spouse.
Hello Leesa. I am from Nepal and will be starting my studies from the middle of august. My wife will complete her bachelors in 1.5 years. Will it be ok to apply for her dependent visa after 11 months as she would have completed her study then before she comes to Norway?
@@9841941490 It is ok to apply after 11 months. You need to have at least 6 months of your study left when you are inviting your spouse.
@@LEESAS Thank you very much☺️
@@LEESAS The amount for couple is 287000 NOK. So this amount can be the combination of the money I have in my Norwegian account and the money my wife has in her account back home right?
What's the financial requirement for 2023/2024 year ?
How have you calculated 287000 NOK ?
For a student, 137907 NOK are required for the 2023/24 session. How much is required by the spouse ?
For the year 2023/2024 it is 300,000 NOK for a couple and additionally, you have to pay tuition fees which is on an average 150,000 NOK.
@@LEESAS Have they already imposed the tuition fee or is it still supposed to be implemented in the future? Since I haven't seen mentioned tuition fee on their webpages. But yes, they have made it clear that if tuition fee is implemented then admitted students will have to pay that.
@@farhanbadar1716 Yes , it has been implemented. All the universities have been told to charge fees and the official document will be signed in May.
Why everyone takes spouse. How can I take my parents?
For parents its very tricky to invite them for long term. You can invite them in visitor visa.
Indian, single mother of two children (11&7). What's the NOK requirement for a student visa?
Its 287 278 NOK. They have fixed the amount as a whole but not for each child. Remeber, with 2 children your monthly expenses can easily cross 20,000 NOK.
@@LEESAS How accessible are the grants in my case?
@@noorjahankhan6862 Grants are very rare in Norway. Even with grant you really won't be able to cover the living expenses if you are coming with two children.
If wife is under 24 can she get visit visa intead of immigration visa in order to meet husband
Yes, she can.
We are a couple with new born child Can my wife apply for 2 years diploma in cookery or something else leading to get permanent residency. Can i get full work permit while my wife study?
Most of the Cookery course are taught in Norwegian so you really cannot get a place to study. No any course leads to permanent residency, you need to find a job that at least requires bachelor degree and the job must be within your field of study then after 3 years of work permit, you can apply for permanent residency.
@@LEESAS
Thank you for your reaction
What about pre studying 1 year of Norwegian language?
Is there any chance to get visa for both student and spouse in the same time?
Is this option available?
@@walooman1 this opition not available these days.
Hi dear.
Its great video.
Can you please guide the total expenses required for me,wife(student for language) and 1 child to reach norway and even 2 month after reaching norway
Have u gone?
Hi! I plan to get a student visa. But I want to bring my 4yr old son with me? What type of visa should I get him?
Also, do we need to stay in the same household? My parents is already staying in Norway, specifically in Haugesund and I will be staying in Oslo for School. I plan to bring my child with them while I’m studying. Is it okay?
You need to apply for family immigration for your child. I am not sure if your child is allowed to live with your parents. Ask at udi.no, they can answer.
Dear leesa mem may we get your fb profile so we can contact with u for further info.thank u
