I'm just 20 years, and I believe I will love bruce the rest all my life! He's just amazing! His voice... his lyrics... Everything about him is perfect..
Just seeing this. 🤗 I'm 62 in years but always 25 years old in my head and heart. You'll find that out. You don't change your essence as time flies 🌞 And I'm a Jersey girl! hope you still love Bruce. He is the best there is, the best that ever will be. 💓
Makes me mad, how much I love this music, and it took me 32 years to find out about it, we'll what the hell, I'm 62 with something new, I got something that is not boring me!
"The Ghost of Tom Joad", "Nebraska" et "Devil & dust" sont des albums somptueux à écouter et réécouter à l'infii...On y découvre toujours, à chaque écoute, des trucs qui nous avaient échappé auparavant...
E' fantastico questo canto e la corda della chitarra sembra dialogare con la voce semplificando gli Armonici DIVINI della tua voce! God SOUL TU PUOI COMMUOVERE IL MONDO INTERO. LA TUA VOCE DIVINA E QUESTE VIBRAZIONI FANNO VIBRARE TUTYI NOI. CONTINUA IL TUO CANTO, NON TI FERMARE TI PREGO! ABBIAMO BISOGNO DI QUESTO CANTO DIVINO PER CREDERE DI POTER CAMBIARE. I SOGNI TORNANO. Working Class Hero The Boss Is ! Great song ! ook off down to Florida we got along all right One day her brothers came and got her and they took me in a black and white The prosecutor kept the promise that he made on that day She was sad and the judge was mad and he put me straight away Well they said she was too young, She was no younger than I've been When she put her arms around me, and the night closed in
I do like the rockabilly energy of Workin' On The Highway, but this darker folk version fits the lyrics much better! It has the fatalist working class tone of Darkness On The Edge Of Town (especially songs like Factory), but inserted in the even more depressed atmosphere of the '82 Nebraska sessions, simply majestic! It's quite fascinating that one of Bruce's most "radio-friendly" albums (Born In The USA, although I think it's deeper and much less radio-friendly when you go past the bombastic production and catchy synth lines) arose from one of Bruce's less accessible and more depressed albums, Nebraska! The whole '81-'84 era was incredible by the way, Bruce kept on oscillating between dark and isolated solo phases and more joyful band sessions, which led to two of his most iconic albums, but also the lesser known Thrill Hill Demos of early '83, which paved the way for his later solo works starting with Tunnel Of Love.
Not sure why but I love this song - probably the lyrics. It's probably the lyrics! Do you think he'd sing it if I held a banner up at his next concert?
This should have been on Nebraska. It would have fit perfectly, but my guess is that it sounded too much like Highway Patrolman so he left it out. I don't know much about the recording of Nebraska other than some major points, so correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!
onec againBruce is using lyrisc from other song (Working on the Highway). No othe artist can play such beautiful tunes with the same words. Bruce is still the best!
This makes me realize that "Working on the highway" actally is a sad song...

I was about 16 when I first heard Bruce (Hungry Heart), and I know what you mean. And let me tell you (I am 59 now) and you are right, you will!
I always figured Working on the Highway was basically a sad song but the music made it so energetic. This fills in the blanks.
"I swore I'd come and get her, but I know I ain't never going back"
Damn, that line's like a punch in the gut.
ZeroGro
Exactly. Can't believe this song was an outtake, it's brilliant.
Makes me mad, how much I love this music, and it took me 32 years to find out about it, we'll what the hell, I'm 62 with something new, I got something that is not boring me!

Love this timeline of Bruce. A very rare one. Great lyrics. Thanks for sharing.

Working Class Hero The Boss Is ! Great song !
ook off down to Florida we got along all right
One day her brothers came and got her and they took me in a black and white
The prosecutor kept the promise that he made on that day
She was sad and the judge was mad and he put me straight away
Well they said she was too young,
She was no younger than I've been
When she put her arms around me, and the night closed in

Love you❣️
awesome song
this is an early version of workin on the highway
Love thé old songs
It's the lyrics to worth and the tune nearly to used cars genius !!!!!!
"Pick a stranger and spin around the dance floor
To a Mexican guitar" - that's how he met her...
ADORO ESSE CARA AMO SUAS MÚSICA
AMO AS SUAS MÚSICAS BRUCE
This melody suits the tragic lyrics better than the Working on the highway version.
Almost all if the BITUSA album is the music juxtaposing the lyrics.
In this song there is "This hard land" too.
Ok Boss
AMO
This is so much better than "Working", how has it not been released?
Sounded too much like Highway Patrolman
..ti amo....
Bruce Springsteen on an earlier take of Working on the Highway.
go boss bossssssssss
sure makes me think of my own younger days
Not sure why but I love this song - probably the lyrics. It's probably the lyrics! Do you think he'd sing it if I held a banner up at his next concert?
John McCabe... Turn out the light.
You just did.

@march2fuzz
Thank you! :) It's simple as you say, but my ear isn't very trained so it's hard for me.
I want you to release
I remember the vfw,
working on the highway :)
1 of the best ever songs about statutory rape
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Never had spotted this link before. Makes the rockabilly feel to WOTH quite misleading
i see there - stolen car...higway patrolman....working on the higway.....this song is like a parents of those ones hahah
Bruce made working on the highway from this song.
Florijan Kovac yes!
Great song! Anyone knows the chord progression?
@FishOfPain very simple, its D, G and A
kinda sounds like 'johnny 99', no?
Francesca Di Leo yes
Don't know nothing about the meanness in this world
call off
Ah sthop
To be fair, he wrote Working on the Highway after Child Bride.
Is that a true story?
Probablement…….😌l’observation est un don ….🕊💃🏾🇫🇷 et Mr Bruce un génie 🧞♂️
Yeah, "Highway" is a really smart song because the pumped up rockabilly rhythm is happy but the lyrics really aren't....
