Controlling galactic logistics so overpopulated core worlds can get the food and resources they need to survive, keeping pirates and planetary officials and powerful corporations in line, maintaining civil relations between countless bickering worlds.
      But the New Republic lacks the intimidating battle fleets, legions of stormtroopers, and iron grip on the galaxy which the Empire used to keep people fed, remove pests, and generally just get things done. They're stretched so thin that they let the half-criminal mostly-not-evil characters of the show have special legal privileges.

    I like it when Luke used his "Force Crush" ability on the last droid. It shows the grey area when using force abilities. A Jedi can use force crush but only on droids. You have to learn that ability and then control it. This foreshadows a little bit of Luke's journey with the force.

    • @42Mrgreenman
      @42Mrgreenman Před 3 lety +1

      IIRC, the only other Jedi to be shown using force crush on a droid was Mace Windu when he crushed Grievous' chest plate and was fighting a bunch of B-1's hand-to-hand in the clone wars microseries...he also seemed to use an ability I could only describe as "Force Disassembly" which would be a seriously twisted ability to use on a living creature...a million tiny force pushes ripping apart every fiber of a being...I wonder if the Sith ever created an ability like a "Force Explosion" or a force push emanating in all directions from the center of a being...

      So maybe it wasn't popular but in 2006 Empire at war, a few jedi could use force crush. The distinction of grey ability vs not is the target. Jedi could use it on organics... After all it be easier than a metallic droid. However as jedi they wouldn't. In the game I referenced obi, mace and darth vader could all pull off that move/ ability style. It was also in KOTOR, but I think a neutral ability if not specified as strict light side.

    • @FerDeLance06
      @FerDeLance06 Před 3 lety +2

      Speaking of Tuskens, one thing I didn't get was the Tusken prisoner shown at around 19:20 has his headgear still on. Given that they all look the bloody same, why is it shown like that? Unless they need it to breathe oxygen, I dunno; but if such is the case, why don't the women and kids wear it? I get it that their religion/rules - whatever - forbid them from showing their faces, but I doubt their clan rules would carry any weight in a max-security prison. I'm kinda torn between wanting to see what they look like, but also still enjoying the mystery surrounding them. I've heard the Tuskens' appearance is feline and the Jawas look like rodents, but they're distantly related. If they are indeed cats, I guess that would explain their stealth and their fascination for torturing other beings they abduct. Yet they seem to show a kindness towards children - Anakin and Tahiri being two examples (Tahiri having been adopted into their tribe).

    • @CritterKeeper01
      @CritterKeeper01 Před 3 lety +4

      Ferdelance Maybe the New Republic respects the religions of other beings. Not so different from a Muslim girl in a hijab.
      Besides, if they never take off their headgear, what good would a mugshot be of him without it? You'd never see him that way if you were looking for him! If there are personalizations to their garb, having a good picture of his would be more useful. Once they know they want to identify him, they could use fingerprints or DNA or whatever more accurately than looking at his face, anyway. So why violate his religion and possibly perpetrate a heinous offense in their society, when they don't need to?

    Bo explicitly opposed the tradition when the saber was won by Maul. She said "no outsider will ever rule Mandalore". So I guess she accepted the saber from Sabine because it was basically Pre Vizla's legacy + she was the heiress. Now she will not accept it from Din because he is not an outsider.

    • @paulnewmo

      @HarmonyEdge Před 2 lety +1

      @@tobyv2922 I think you're confusing Bo with Sabine, who was the one who fought against Gar Saxon on the frozen lake behind the Wren manor.
      Maul was the last legitimate wielder of the Darksaber. Sabine retrieved it after it was abandoned, then gifted it to Bo rather than declare her right to rule after Gar's defeat. I think the ISB helped make a stink about Bo not winning it in combat to undermine her rule, which is I guess why she refused Din gifting it to her.

    • @tobyv2922
      @tobyv2922 Před 2 lety +1

      @@HarmonyEdge ya, I meant Sabine. Sabine found it in Maul’s lair, lost it when she was captured, won it back and then gave it to Bo. Neither one of them were the rightful wielders. Technically the true owner is Palpatine after he defeated Maul and Savage. Maul was fighting him with the dark saber too.

      Do you have any reliable sources for this story? The only indication was a post from a makeup crew member who referred to Morgan as "one of the last survivors of Dathomir". Google provides no further references on this topic. Are you sure that's what happened and not someone's assumption/speculation?

      @@OrangeJews1138 The makeup chair is THE final step before you shoot a scene. You don't sort the makeup out, write scripts, etc and then come back a month later and shoot the scene with your actors with crusty faces
      It is an conclusion based on this account, and the logical proceedings of the sequential nature of production. If they were designed to the final day as a nightsister, and mention of it scrubbed, then we can extrapolate that to Filloni nd Favreau not knowing the context of the larger star wars canon, and it being brought to them at the 11th hour by the story group or some other individual to change

    Awesome. The fact that this vid is 30 mins should show just how packed the series is with easter eggs.
    I hope that easter egg for Bloodline is true. That is easily one of my favorite novels of the new canon.
