प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार, 14 मई को वाराणसी से अपना नामांकन पत्र दाखिल किया. वे तीसरी बार यहां से लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं. दुनिया के सबसे बड़े लोकतंत्र के मुखिया होने के बाद भी नरेंद्र मोदी के पल्ले अपनी निजी सम्पत्ति लगभग ना के बराबर है. इलेक्शन कमीशन के यहां दाखिल किए हलफनामे में पीएम मोदी के पास महज 52,920 रुपये नकद हैं. उसमें से भी 24,920 रुपये पहले के थे और 28,000 रुपये नामांकन से एक दिन पहले ही बैंक से निकाले थे.

Despite being the head of the world's largest democracy, Narendra Modi has almost no personal wealth. According to the affidavit filed with the Election Commission, PM Modi has only Rs 52,920 in cash. Out of that, Rs 24,920 were from earlier and Rs 28,000 were withdrawn from the bank a day before the nomination.
