Local Life in Las Vegas | What a year of living here looks like

The past year has been a real journey - full of moments and experiences that made for arguably my favorite year living in Las Vegas. It’s the first year since the pandaexpress that the city has gone back into real full swing and then some - with that nasty sk*nkh*oe coronawhateverhernameis getting smaller and dustier in our rearview mirrors. Not only that, but this past year marked the first full year of me not working a 9-5 WOOOOOOOO! Because of this, I feel like I got to experience this place with fresh eyes in a sense.
From becoming a more active member of the local community, to meeting and networking with more local Vegas business owners, discovering hidden gems for brunch and coffee, building my own content studio (AHHHHHHH), getting to spend more time with people I love, and enjoying the freedom + flexibility that comes with not having to clock in or out anywhere -
this video was made with lots of love, deep reflection, introspection, optimism about what’s to come. Thank you to those who have been riding and supporting as I continue to navigate such a transitional period of my life, along with this channel’s vision and direction.
I’m showing up and giving more here this year, that’s a promise I have come to make for myself. So thank you again to anyone and everyone who is along for the ride!

-I currently have Friday Health plan and love it so far! I chose the particular plan I have because of the wide range of in-network options I have in town - specifically for mental health services and the chiropractor (my options were ZERO with the insurance I had through my last full time job). I I was told these smaller companies tend to be more expansive because they're more willing to work with and maintain a good relationship with individual providers.

I am from Chicago, I've lived here all my life, I like yourself am also a child of immigrants. There's something about the climate and scenery of Las Vegas that draws me to it. One of my goals is to move there, I'm 33 soon to be 34. I definitely would like to visit it maybe this year if not next year.
Great for short term stay from October - May. Don’t sign any 1 year lease unless you want to move for good or plan to open a business. I went there recently and besides the Arts District, it’s really a giant suburb where you need a car to get everywhere. I was shocked how there is no Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s anywhere downtown are all far out. It is cheaper than Chicago depending on your lifestyle but much different. No beaches. No subways. No real tech companies or prestige universities. Don’t let these rich CZcamsrs and Vegas vloggers sell you a dream on Vegas. Go there first!

I can tell you what a year looks like. Been here a year now. Unless you leave vegas for 5 mos, you will spend alot of time indoors;) Otherwise you have to have money to go to many of these wonderful places! Vegas is nice, but its not fun unless you are rich for 5 mos out of the year.
She obviously has rich parents. Bold move to go from 9-5 tech life to fully working for yourself with out any real privileged “boost”

@@qikstar I live in north vegas. The main wildlife here are pigeons. lolll. And Mockingbirds. If you want wildlife, you need to move closer to the mountains. Or Maybe Henderson. My cousin lived downtown and he died there. No, I would not live there. If you are thinking about living here make sure you research different states before you move here first;) Healthcare is crappy, high rate of naturally occuring asbestos all over clark county , boulder city and nye county. Very dangerous for the lungs long term. High rates of lung and other cancers out here.

years later you are still enjoying this crazy heat that lasts for 4 mos? the crappy healthcare and people not being very friendly out here? I guess if you can navigate all that it would work.
@@Lululila67 I worked construction in 23 below zero, the heat is easier I ho swimming and use a/c no mosquitoes, state taxes or sub zero temps

@@Lululila67 I didn't know, seriously I've not seen them here, in mn they are like hawks lol, your right about the heat I spend most of the summer outside welding ornamental iron and doing my metal art sculptures after about 5 hours I'm wiped out and ready for a swim, I could be wrong but it seems most people including myself want to move away from where they grew up, also at the time my late wife was fighting cancer and wanted to live in Vegas so I made it happen for her 🙂
