I am sitting down to do this. That way we are able to put money towards everything each check. We get paid semi-monthly 😭. Having to make it work..

How do you divide the year if your partner gets paid monthly and you get paid 4 weekly?

That is actually an excellent problem I need to cover in a video. Thank you for the idea. In short though, I would take all of your expenses and cover as many fixed expenses (rent, utilities, payments, etc) with your husband’s check. Then take your check and allocate it towards grocery budgets, sinking funds, savings and debt payoff. If you haven’t watched my month ahead fund video please do. Having a month ahead fund takes the pay dates out of the equation when you are paying your monthly bills. It is a complete game changer. Feel free to ask anymore questions you need to if I’m confusing you. I will definitely do a video on this. Thank you for watching!

Linin Up Ducks this has always been a problem for us as soon as I have it all figured out our pay dates become so far apart and then I’m drug along to find money for the things we need.... we will defiantly be trying to get a month ahead as this will help massively thank you

If your pay dates are regular, meaning you consistently get paid every week on the same day and your husband gets paid on the same day of the month, try “assigning” certain bills every month to specific paychecks. You can also call the companies you are paying and have them adjust your due dates to give you more control and flexibility.

Linin Up Ducks my husband gets paid on the same day every month but as mine is 4 weekly I get paid a different day but also get paid 13 times instead of 12 if that makes sense it’s fine when our days fall near the same time but as the year goes on they separate and go full circle not sure if any of that makes sense lol! I’m always paid on a Friday so once every every fourth Friday

Yes it definitely makes sense. Moving pay dates was my nemesis until we started using a month ahead fund. So definitely work towards that as your financial priority for now. Move as many due dates to the last week of the month as you can that way you have the flexibility to pay anytime in the month. Also get on budget billing for your utilities. If you know your average utility cost you can pay those when you have the money available. I feel like this is a problem many people have. If you feel comfortable emailing me I may be able to help you in more specifics. My email is lininupducks@gmail.com
