    This is my current setup in the Chicagoarea. I love it so far with a HRT placard, and have enough space for my BWC, name plate, and badge.

    I just received mine in the green and I have to say it’s very nice. I haven’t bought plates for it yet but I am very happy I decided to go with this. There are so many out there for a fraction of the price but when the pros are using this as the standard than it’s no question and yes go ahead and grab the side carriers as well

    Love the review.
    Great looking carrier. I have been looking for a new one for awhile and ultimately it’s difficult finding just the right carrier. Several brands have features I like but then some I don’t. I am always cognizant of what what my role and what my mission is. And always load to the mission. This is definitely a great versatile carrier I may look into it. But definitely I see only some small changes I would make.

      You would never put anything you think you might need quickly (ie ammo) in a pack in terms of LEO a pack isn't really necessary unless you have breaching tools and are trained to use em (90% of cops aren't)

    • @tburrows357
      @tburrows357 Před 2 lety

      My 2 cents. When utilized a pack panel with extra supplies. Or more often for a camel back for hydration. or as mentioned breaching tools. This is team environment operations and specific utilization of fire team partners. Buddy helps you grab any extra or specialized items that is good to have but not necessarily immediately essential equipment

    Outside of the features of each plate carrier where it's made is my highest concern. I've had several Chinese made tactical products and while good the stitching failed after a short time of field use.
    It would be great if we had a company that made gear in the USA that stood up to daily use. That used the highest quality fabrics, threads, buckles etc. Or gear that was made in Israel, Germany etc .

    I like your videos. Didn’t watch this one fully but; though this plate carrier has all the bells and whistles…we need something that’s functional in its primary duties. From my test experience an issue I encountered was the bulk at the shoulders offset my ability to properly shoulder my rifle. From what I seen this was an issue w some others as well. Quick release is cool but can take up good space if maybe someone would want to put a baton or something upfront really just preference

    You actually had a fail in your review (for me a big one😅😜) the single Velcro stripe on the „backpack“ is mostly therefore that you can tuck it in (when you don’t need the big pocket) so you then have a small pocket and two big Velcro/Molle surfaces

    I really wanted to get this in green but my ocd cant habdle the fact the mesh is black lol the packs mesh is green so I'm confused as to why they wouldn't make the carriers mesh green too. Guess I'm going with coyote tan then lol I'd do multicam black which looks kickass, since the black mesh on that makes more sense but I already have wear a solid black vest for work and I hate wearing black, if it wasn't for dandruff I wouldn't mind as bad but black clothes and white dandruff just looks bad lol much easier to conceal in green or coyote.

      you need to arm the kids, not give them vests. That's how self-defence works. Vests aren't going to save you if you can't shoot back.

    • @tac6557
      @tac6557 Před 2 lety +2

      Not getting into the politics of the situation but
      you'll need to the size and measurement of your child's vital areas. I don't think your going to find conventional armour for your child to wear reasonably, most are made for adults, unless you want to contact a company to make something specific it is quite difficult to find this.
      Remember, even soft armour isn't very comfortable to wear for long periods and something to stop rifle calibers (223) would require something upwards of 5-8 + lbs per plate (front and back), would be extremely cumbersome and a child would be hard pressed to wear it for 5 minutes much less all day.
      Possibly putting an AR500 plate for the backpack but that would require user compliance and usage of said pack to cover the front OR back.
      As someome who previously specialized in specificly private sector security and private school services before LE, I suggest if your this worried about this issue, pull your kid out of the public school system because from my experience with discussing school security with pub schools, getting them to adapt the proper safety mechanisms to significantly decrease the risk is extremely costly and 90% will not because it's not practical.
      Find a private school or home school. You'll be hard pressed to find something reasonable and if you do, you'll be spending up of at least 600+ dollars to get something capable of stopping handgun rounds. And probably 800+ if you see something rifle grade.
      As someone who studied these incidents to develop a plan for private schools, a majority of them are done with pistols, and even then are extremely rare.
      Just my two cents from someone who did something a bit more specialized than what an avg cop would do. (Not throwing off on tommy).
