  • In this video, Jessica Corley, technology specialist at Lake Charles Toyota, and Clay Hebert demonstrate how to use the 2021 Toyota Sienna’s power liftgate button that closes and locks the vehicle from a single location. It’s something that you might easily overlook, and we believe it will come in handy. This is just one of the many new features on the All-New Sienna for 2021. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO TURN OFF THE REAR KICK SENSOR ON THE 2021 Sienna?

Good question, Edward! You can turn the feature off in the MID on your instrument cluster. If you watch this Rav4 video, we demonstrate where to find it in menu. It works the same for your Sienna. czcams.com/video/lLKTHLT3cMQ/video.html

How do you get the lift gate to open all the way again? I press and hold the button until it beep to stop/lock at a certain height, but now I need it to fully open and can't get it to do that now.
So everytime I open the lift gate, it stop at that same height. Help, it's been driving me crazy.

on 2021 sienna LE , it doesn’t have that button. Does it mean i can’t open and close unless i get out from car?

The 4 generation LE models don’t come with the power lift gate. You’ll have to get an aftermarket one and have a shop install it or do it yourself.

I just bought a 2021 Sienna last weekend (Limited) and nothing happens when I press that button. No beeping, no closing. Is there a switch somewhere to enable/disable it, or is this a malfunction? It was brand new - only 26 miles on it.

on the MID instrument panel screen, open the vehicle settings option and make sure the "PBD" Power Back Door System Setting is "On". If that setting is "off" the back door will not function. If you need further assistance, please consult your nearest Toyota dealer.

Yeah, BUT: How do you *OPEN* the *POWER* TAILGATE (to say, oh, idk, to get your JUMPER cables???) when your *BATTERY* is *DEAD* ?!? And don't you DARE say you gotta: a) CRAWL into and b) possibly UNLOAD a CARGO AREA, btw, b.1) OVER SEATS and THROUGH the DOORS (not to mention: c) have to find that out you even have to to begin with from: c.1) an owners manual that may not be there or c.2) the internet with possibly no cell phone charge and/or signal), d) MACGYVER a way to (with some "convenient" tool you prolly don't have): d.1) open some ACCESS PANEL on the INSIDE of the TAILGATE and d.2) SAFE-CRACKER-STYLE, *HACK* OPEN THE LATCH *MECHANISM*.
Are - you - FRIGGIN' - *KIDDING* ME?! Whichever engineer(s) proposed this and exec(s) allowed it should be SHOT! There should be a LAW that REQUIRES: a) internal manual release level near driver's seat (like, oh, idk, the ones almost every vehicle has for hood, (locked/no key hole) gas lid and (if appl.) trunk???) and/or b) external key hole! Cuz obvy whatever "competition" there is in the car industry has NOT been enough to motivate them to do it on their GREEDY/CHEAP-ASS own! I guarantee if even ONE U.S. senator / congressman and/or his wife / daughter / etc. had to do this much less figure it out to begin with much less at night in the dark (cuz, remember, dead battery???), with a full cargo area, in the rain / sleet / hail / freezing cold / scorching heat, they'd be sponsoring a BILL to REQUIRE a MUCH EASIER MANUAL TAILGATE RELEASE!
