Remember the diamond-studded chain Rakim wore in the late '80s, the one with the Benz star? The CLA is the modern equivalent of flashy jewelry, only with more taste. This car’s chrome-toothed grille and huge emblem only start a positively beautiful profile. Even the redesigned taillights don’t illuminate in straight lines. They sway in thick bands from the fenders to the trunk. The CLA is so shapely our video crew took twice the usual time to suction the GoPro cameras to its body. It takes longer to get out of tighter jeans, too, but for anyone watching, it’s usually worth the wait.
The CLA250 4Matic we tested comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four that makes 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This is the lowest-rated engine in Mercedes’ lineup, and acceleration can be described only as decent. Shifts, however, are among the quickest of Mercedes' models, with the kind of crisp downshifting you’d expect in a manual. Our only gripe: It’s not very smooth in regular driving.

People seem to miss the point that this car is meant for under 30 youth, and even teenagers, who could also be first time luxury car buyers.
And Mercedes hit the bulls eye with their design language and price point. This car became quite popular among college goers and first time car buyers where I live.
yeah you're right on the dot! Because I got this car when I was 19 still have it 2 years later but will probably upgrade to a c200.

no it's not. has about 156pk i believe but it is beautiful as hell and you can alwahs chip it right :P
aram442 this car is faster than the average car and can be tuned to be a rocket ship...I have a 2016 but the tuning is expensive so I haven’t tried it yet but there are examples. Compared to the 2020 A class it already is a rocket ship
if 1.6l then 156 and it goes 0-100 8.5, its not a slow.

Yes its 50 k for fully loaded CLA but at the same time it's still cheap compare to what they pay in Europe ( 45 % more ) and in Asia , and at 5.7 " it's the perfect car for me and sometimes in life you want grilled salmon instead of a burger ...

vladastorian For a fully loaded non-AMG CLA in the UK, it's around £38k. With conversion that's not 45% more.
In germany you get the cla 180 for 30k. I dont know about configs but a 250 cost around 38k

The Posh Queen Well there's the Audi S3(and A4), BMW 340i, Infiniti Q50, and a plethora of other cars from non-luxury companies that are significantly more reliable and have been rated as having better build quality. Not to mention tons of pre-owned vehicles from various companies as well, including other cars by Benz(C class, E Class). The CLA is a car you buy essentially just to say you own a Mercedes. It's not enough real luxury for the price you're paying. My sister has one and I'm not impressed. The interior feels plasticy, the infotainment screen looks like a cheap tablet, and the body design is in my opinion unsightly, especially for a Benz(that fucking wheel gap). Not to mention, any options tacked on to this thing and it could run you well over 40 grand. Simply not worth it if you ask me. If you like it, good on you, just know you're buying the German Corolla. I'd recommend saving up for the 2019 A class if you desperately want a Benz. A much cleaner interior and exterior for the same price as an optioned out CLA.

VW CC competitor. They are both 4 door coupés and the same price range. I would say the executive CC is a bit more luxurious than the CLA.

Everyone is downing this car and saying its the cheapest Mercedes. Correct me if I’m wrong but the official website states that the A class Sedan is the cheapest price point Mercedes. On your next video please show us the car, stop open the doors and actually take us through the car
Guys... what is so hard to understand... when you review cars, it is not your good looking faces that we are interested to see 60-70% of the time. Your video.faces can show facial expressions, that's still not what we want. We want a camera that points to your steering wheel / front when you drive. As soon as we click we are being served something other than we were hoping to see. A bit like being sucked into a video that's different from what we wanted.

50k for a CLA? Only fools would spend that much on a CLA. 50k is already C class territory and it's miles better than this. It's basically 20k of badging and 30k for car.
W-_-T It think it's around $46k fully loaded. The $50k price must include tax and docs. This is a 4Matic by the way.
A similar equipped C300 4Matic is around $55k + tax. So we're talking about a $10k difference.

way too expensive for a fwd car. The AMG version is interesting but still to expensive when you can get an M2 for the price. This car is for the wife you buy a car for ND all she cares about is the badge or a college guy trying to show off he is rich while making monthly lease payments.

That said Im guessing she is not a race car driver so if she is happy with it Im not going to tell her otherwise. I guess different strokes for different folks. Im just one of those people that looks at what you can get the most for your dollar.

It may sound vain but if I'm going to buy a benz its not because it practicality. I want people to notice my Benz for what it is, not be seen as driving the "cheap" benz. And that's what these look like, inside and out.

There are serious issues with this car. The principle, reliability. This is completely new for Mercedes. We never questioned reliability. Apparently it is a garage queen with a wait on parts that can run months! Again, unheard of in a Mercedes. If you're near purchase, pull back!
Do you have a data to back those claims? Saying "apparently" does nothing for credibility of what you are saying.
I think you should disregard any negative statements I've made about the Hungarian Mercedes. You should purchase this car with full confidence in the brand and my full endorsement

Don't think it's worth the money at all. It looks nice but it has terrible reviews here in the UK, example AutoExpress 3/5, What Car 2/5, Top Gear 5/10. I just don't see the appeal of this car compared to rivals.

As a owner of a CLA250, would rather have a BMW or Audi for the price i paid, the interior itself is outdated and lame as fuck, they need to add the C-Class interior to the car intstead of the lame ass early 2000's feel.
Not a benz, it's a Hungarian built piece of crap with massive reliability problems.
. It drove the entire line of Mercedes overall reliability rating at consumer reports down to 24 from 13.
And they say that it is 140% worse than the average car.
