Thank you for being here again. As most of you know its been quite the journey for Gaio and me but I am so excited for the next steps coming!
(now I am posting this, the show has happened and let me tell you, you want to hear all about the big day :') )

It breaks my heart that every horse can’t have Jesse as their trainer/owner.
But be happy we have Jesse to show us the way!
But then the poor guy would have to deal with millions of horses and no one else would have a horse🤣

It is so heart warming to see the progress you have made so far. I am pretty sure Jesse your horses thrive on the love you show them. A horse that came from such a violent, stressful past and was given a second life when he entered your care. It is like he won the lottery.
Every time I think about it I cry with joy for Gaio, and with joy for Jesse too, because he's so appreciative of his horses. They are both so lucky, and I'm so glad for them both, but yeah, especially for Gaio. Lucky, lucky boy!

You know, from bullfighting horse to dressage horse he's fantastic. He's so pretty when he prances. Gaio's success is due to your love, understanding and patience Jesse.
It is great to show Gaio and Jesse and the true bond they have to the public. They have worked so hard. I like that although the training is very serious for this performance Jesse makes it fun for Gaio and he enjoys his new life and job away from the bulls and his traumatic past. Good job. Jesse and Gaio!!!
I especially like this moment in the show when the bridle just falls down and you continue without this, it just feels magical to me

He seemed very calm in the new surroundings
He’s a different horse when he is bridle less. He looks happy and relaxed. His personality really comes out.
Dropping the bridle during the ride is a really dramatic moment. I hope that's in the performance.
How you have taken this former bullfighting horse and are riding without a bridle doing dressage and bowing....well, I think is nothing short of miraculous! May all the world behold this and treat animals with more love and patience and respect. Gaio obviously seems to enjoy it all! He's so beautiful to watch in motion and so very athletic.
Gaio looks so much more relaxed and happy than when you got him.. Great Job Jesse!
He looked much more cadenced since the last video I watched of him. I am so touched by the way you and Matt handle your horses and all the love you shower on them. I believe that your followers will be inspired to take a different approach to training horses and that making a connection is key to results. A high level of love and trust can motivate the horse to make responses that exceed their inherent reactions to difficult situations. Once when I hit my head in a fall and was unconscious, my horse tried to get in the ambulance with me. Since my mother was the one who told me about it, this is not a just so story. Keep up the good work. Not everyone is graced with the ability to change hearts and minds for the better but you have it.

That is wonderful! I'm always so suspicious when riders fall off, their horse sometimes even takes a kick at them before running away, and wonder if the horse is their companion and friend or just an accessory or a means to an end for them.

Put the hay net in a big trash can like a garbage bag with the top of the hay bag folded over the top of the trash can. Fill with hay, then close. Really easy and super simple!
We both gave him good haynet suggestions.. 😊

Yes, Gaio did win the life lottery. I am impressed that he had such trust in Jesse that he was able to keep it together with the spotlight tracking in front of him. He was so worried yet had the courage to stay with Jesse. Hopefully Gaio's success story will make a difference in the lives of all bullfighting horses.

Gaio wasn't bothered a bit by the lighting (I remember years ago, Antares trying to jump over the spotlights!!) He looks in great form & can't wait to see the actual performance. I'm sure it will be everything you hope it to be. Good luck !!

A lot of preparation, training and stress, but the result is worth it! Gaio has a difficult past, and you've managed to restore his confidence using a lot of gentleness and love. Gaio is cooperative and willing to work with you. This last training session before the show is very positive and I have an excellent feeling about your performance. Gaio was perfect and I can't wait for the Big Day! 😀😍💖(What a huge arena!!!)
One can see just how much time and effort has gone into working with Gaio! He has come a long way from how he was, when you were residing at your home.
I pray all goes well in the upcoming show and hopefully you’re able accomplish what you set out to … and that you’re able to provide us with some snippets.

Wow . This is a different horse than the one you first intoduced to us. Makes my heart beat fast and my eyes fill with tears. The music is so moving. People who are able to watch your perfomance are truly blessed. Are the complete shows recorded for a viewing by yours fans later.
Hey Jesse, just put a whole big biscuit of hay in the net! You don't need to break it up, horse will still pull it out straw by straw, can fit more in the net, in a very short time, and bits are still gonna stick out.
The thing Gaio was most afraid of was the bit in his mouth. With bullfighting and a harsh Spanish bit, he had no choices, afraid of the bulls, the bit, the force, now all that has gone.

Gaio hit the jackpot when he was put into Jesse's care to bring him from the dark place he was in. Jesse is patient with him just what Gaio needed . It would be a shame if he doesn't get to stay the rest of his days with Jesse he loves Jesse and I believe he would do anything for Jesse. By the way, I am a great admirer of Gaio he has a great heart and Jesse has helped him show the great horse he really is. It goes without saying I love Jesse as well. lol🥰🥰🥰
Great video Jesse. Gaio is such a beautiful horse, and he responds to you so lovingly. I especially love the joy that both you and Matt express about this sport and the care you both put into what it means to be an owner and trainer. I simply adore you both.
You have worked very hard with him and it shows. When one door closes (Anteras) another one opens. You said you were "forced" (not really) to move to focus on Gaio but sometimes that is a good thing since you don't always know what you can do until you have too. Here's to many more shows with them all taking their individual chance at the spotlight.
Ok ... Filling haynets: there's contraptions they make (like a laundry basket thing or a funnel slide) but I prefer going old school- if u have flaked hay bales I take 3 or 4 flakes without separating them, I fold the top of the haynet down almost halfway & put the haynet over the flakes, flip it over, pull the top up & pull the main string to tighten it. 😊 Hope that helps 😃

for the hay net you can actually really easily just build a square (frame) out of thin wood slats with a hook on each corner. you can attach it to the wall with a hinge so that you can just easily retract it while not using it so it'll be out of your way.
Jesse, you are wonderful.I love your passion for horses. Gaio has the most beautiful eyes! Just a stunning boy my Gaio! He is stunning and he gives everything for you Jesse, because Gaio loves you. His sad life is behind him now, no fear for him, because of you Jesse. Makes me cry.
After starting life in the bull ring, it's awesome to see Gaio getting in any performance ring without having PTSD. Jesse has done so well with this beautiful horse. The show should be amazing! Really looking forward to the next video.

Beautiful horse
Jesse, first you give such love to your horses. Please don't feel you are unable to tell a good story, I was completely drawn in (edit: sit down, surgery chat video). I also noticed every edit/chop and wish you had flowed freely. You are not overly spoken, you are a calm, clear, and heartfelt speaker. All to which make for an excellent story teller. Just a good word to hopefully boost your spirits when it comes time to share adventures or tense times with us on your passion, horses. Loving your and Matt's channels both. Warm wishes~
Gayo is doing REALLY well, especially since it's been a while since I saw you ride him. I am reminded of an obedience dog I had that did so well until the sound of all the people cheering, she would get so excited even when it wasn't for her.
