The aquatrainer can be a great tool to use to train your horse. I was a little nervous putting Antares in it for the first time but I am super proud❤️

Quite by accident did I see your videos because I am not a “horse person” at all. But I have become hooked on your and Matt’s story. Have enjoyed watching your lives progress.. At the young age of 77, I am learning about a whole new world. You both are such sweet and kind people.

Love the time you and Matt spend desensitizing your horses to new experiences. I am 73 and love animals and when younger had appaloosa horses from the time of their birth until the end of their life. I wish I would have had a partner like both of you to share with the love of animals
I would love to have a "Matt" to clean up my house, garden, car, wardrobe etc. He is such a hard worker and a perfectionist.

Antares reacted well to his first session in the aquatrainer. He remained calm and courageous, and his confidence in Jesse did the rest. The benefits of the aquatrainer are very real, but the noise and especially the moving floor can frighten a horse. After a few sessions, it will become a routine. Congrats Antares, you did great!!! Big kiss on your nose 👏🥰

He did great for his first time! 😄 When I was working at an equine sport rehabilitation facility I was the one working primarily with the horses on the aquatrainer. One thing that might be helpful is getting a net on a stick and having someone stand near the hind end and hold it close to the tail to catch any manure. It's best if possible to keep any of that from getting into the water and it makes it a more pleasant experience for everyone involved haha.
Of course you would still need to spray off the horse after but it keeps the smell away at least and it's better for the equipment. In my experience at least 💛

@@JesseDrent Happy to hear you are functioning normally again 😂You may want to be careful with too much 'Leg Day training.' You have very nice legs now when you wear shorts or a bathing suit. It's always an added bonus to see your legs in videos riding your horses at the beach. I wouldn't like to see you spoil your nice legs by bulking them up with big muscles. 🥰

Such an interesting video. Antares did a great job for his first time, and Matt’s and Lara’s expertise was really helpful. It’s a bit stressful introducing a horse to this, but with Jesse close by, Antares was calm as he tried to get the hang of things. Great work everyone.

I think it's amazing how tolerant our horses are, we put them through so many artificial situations.
So good to see Antares not panicking. I remember Sureno trying to jump out and really not liking it. He really was a big boy, and I was so scared he would get injured. Glad Antares came out o.k. Also, happy you were so patient with him. Love you guys...best of luck with your new home!

Antares did well for his first try in the Aquatrainer. It must be such a worry for a horse owner that their horse spooks and damages themselves. I love the bickering between Jesse and Matt. It reminds me of my hubby and I-although we’ve been together for over 30 years 😂 Glad to hear you’re settling in Jesse 😊

Hi Jesse. I'm new to your channel but already a big fan. It has been a number of years since I last owned horses. I sold my farm 9 years ago and now mostly travel and living a minimalist life. I’ll never forget the only time I tried a treadmill! I realized that I missed all the sensory input from walking on the ground; it’s never even and my steps are always adjusting to the terrain. That was a year ago and I’m 75. I can’t imagine how a four-legged feels! Yes, it will take him some time to adjust. Actually it took me a while to learn to be aware of a horse’s four legs as a rider!
Yes, it seem to come naturally that we are more polite and guarded when we speak to others, but at home you are just yourself. That’s ok as long as you are not insulting or demeaning😊. Love you both

I worry about yr health & safety!!! I'm absolutely frantic w/worry about U moving far from neighbors (& emergency services, police, fire, friends, family, etc.) I'm not sure in my heart that Matt takes care of U & watches U & keeps U safe from harm or accidents. I wish he was more of a "helicopter mom" & not too preoccupied or busy to care for you properly. If U must be so privately away from others, at least stash solar powered cell phones all over the new property so U have quick access for help if U R hurt or injured!!! Sorry 2 B such an old lady MommaBear ... 😢, but I just want U 2 B happy, healthy & safe! ❤️🥰❤️

Jesse, I am so sorry your knees are bothering you. Believe me when I say I totally understand. My Dr wants me to have mine replaced but I am still resisting. Antares was such a good boy! I think the aqua trainer will help him to be calmer. Feel better soon! Hi Matt!❤❤

That was a very informative video. I never even thought about it being a strenuous exercise which is incredibly important to know. I’m not a horse owner and I always assumed that these aqua-treads were more like a spa sort of thing but helped the muscles relax. I never put thought into the exercise it prides. Thank you for the education and demonstrating how to use it. ❤❤

He could have been more helpful if he would have scrubbed the horse's legs so Jesse wouldn't have had to bend down so low because that hurt his sore legs so much! 😢

Matt helped plenty with the aftercare, washing the tail is way more work than wiping off a leg. When Antares got off the treadmill he looked like: wow I am so fast suddenly. That is how I feel getting off the treadmill.
I think he did very well for his 1st time. The sounds and walking on the spot would be confusing for any animal.
Each time he will be better prepared and learn to adapt.

Jesse, love the videos you and Matt produce - not overly polished, but so informative! We use aquatrainers with dogs and I’m jealous of your access as we must go to sports medicine clinics. Your poor back and legs! You need the aqua trainer yourself.

I think we call that 'seedy toe' here in Australia. Very interesting in the aqua trainer. I guess the horses find their balance after a couple of times in it but it's great exercise for them ❤

Wow❤he did excellent going up and in with something totally new. And did well for such a noisy machine. Jesse 😅you look like a 90 year old man atm with your movements 😂. Do you have a cream called deep heat? Thats great to rub in your knees helps a lot but don't get the smelly one it stinks.
The first several times I used a treadmill (for myself, not a horse), I remember being so discombobulated when it stopped, I was a bit dizzy getting off. I imagine it might be the same for a horse, especially seeing the way he stepped way out as he walked down the ramp. Amazing that your horses trust people enough to do something like that in the first place!

Jesse I think you should do some yoga/mobility so you can care for your horses long term without stiffness and pain, squatting, bending, etc.
And it'd also help your riding.
