Wrought Iron is hammered, like a blacksmith kind of thing. Cast iron is poured into a cast until it has cooled then the cast it broken and the iron item removed. Thanks for showing this amazing building. Keep it up guys. Love Bear too❤️🐾❤️
Awe, Bear was trying to save Andy when he was swinging from that attic. I was laughing so hard. Then you, Matt, and Andy, when Matt was telling the story of the bomb threat!! You two had me laughing until I cried. You two are great together. The outside of the older building is super grand!! ❤️ you two!! Thanks for all the laughs!! The church is beautiful too. Very grand!
Wow! What a gorgeous place! It looks like a retreat and events center was built onto the original convent. All the hallways and meeting rooms plus accommodations...would make sense.
Wrought iron and cast iron differences are simply temperature. Cast is tempered, wrought is not. Amazing.
The marbles and staircases and ceilings! Just wow! What a beautiful place for a weddings and receptions!

OMG! When Andy was swinging from the attic and Bear was trying to help him, was not only so endearing, it was hilarious! I kept getting visuals of what Bear's camera would have picked up during that event. I kept seeing Andy's feet dangling and swaying and Bear running back and forth. 🤣🤣🤣
This was a great explore guys. Andy is a trooper. I was thinking that large area with room around could be one of two things. It could be a place for retired priests and nuns or those who have become disabled.

The strange sink with the cistern was probably for emptying bed pans.

They often call it a sluice room. So they can clean up the bedpans, and flush the waste. I'm guessing there were some hooks to dry out the washed pans there too.
The convent probably became more of a nursing care facility as the nuns got older and older. Probably started with the younger nuns caring for the older ones, and maybe some people in the community that needed care and had no one else. Eventually as the nuns aged, some were in care there, then probably the NHS took over at some point, as there weren't enough new nuns to fill the gaps.

This place would have been very bland for the nuns. Only being allowed to bring their clothes, and toiletries. They are supposed to live very basically with only the mere things they need.
I wonder why they have left? Similar to a nunnery that’s being sold in my home town. It’s beautiful as it’s a Victorian villa with so much character and a rose garden.

Thanks I don’t do too bad do I. It would have been a really grand place in its day and nuns did just lead basic lives. There is not many convents or nunnery’s in use any more which is a shame

Your videos are never boring because it's the 2 of you that make them fun! You should put a tracking device on Bears collar in case he gets lost it will show you exactly where he's at.

You should get 2 small trackers. One for the camera in case it gets raked off and one for Bear's harness in case he gets stuck away from you. You know for sure that as much everybody loves you if Bear has a bad day you'll have the devil to pay. As it should be...

A lot of the places we visit are completely wasted they can easily be used for something else and wouldn’t take much to make them good again. And bear is a star

Lovely place and a nice village. I’m sure I heard that at one time there was best part of 400 nuns living there.
That little room with the sinks was the sluice for washing out the bed pans.
Wrought iron has low carbon to cast iron 14:3 xtrusions I think it’s some kind of pump underground fitted for hot and cold temperatures amazing explore once again guys xx

I agree the grounds were far more interesting than the inside, the pods on the wall are from a wisteria, pity you couldn’t show us in the church also. Good video though love to Bear the little scamp.

I thought it was gonna be a creepy place being so old and nuns being involved !! theyve turned out to have some horror stories around them with children and babies in the past recently came to light... I did wonder what the hell a load of old nuns would chat about at the end of their days !! Wondering if they waisted their lives, with nun of this nun of that and nun of the other 🙂 But this was very funny lads,Bear and Andy had me in stitches.

Hi Matt and Andy( and Bear too) Thank you for another great explore. Just thought I would contribute a little insight on the differences between wrought iron and cast iron. Wrought Iron is iron that has been heated and then worked with tools. Cast Iron is iron that has been melted, poured into a mold, and allowed to solidify. Love the way you both discuss such trivia subjects but it is so entertaining. Watching you both Sunday morning is a great way to finish off a week or should I say a great way to start a week 🤔 Safe exploring…keep it coming💕

6:18 on the right of the screen under the streetlight ,you can see a fog that moves across the road. The fog is a human shape. The apparition comes from under the street light and then crosses the road. When they look through the glass you can clearly see it!!

Wrought iron is kinda like gates and fences etc. A blacksmith would work (wrought) hot iron into shapes. Usually bespoke things.
Cast iron is poured into a mold and left to cool before being shaped. Usually by fettling before being machined into a more definite shape. Think more like drainpipes, grates, radiators and so much more. Less 'pretty' per se more practical
Cast iron is molded the other is fire molded

Wrought iron resists fatigue and has a higher tensile strength than cast iron, hope this helps.

Those type of sinks are called 'belfast sinks' as I think they originated in belfast ireland. Usually they are found in farm houses or sometimes in grand mansions they'll have like a utility/wash area.....those sinks cost a fortune though. Oh an fyi I used to bath in my nans kitchen sink, thought it was luxury 😅
