@@Fjlasers Insulation tape reduces heat transfer to the outer body and the atmosphere. Insulation tape DOES NOT absorb heat, it INSULATES.

If the fitting is loose and you want to increase contact of the inner billet with the outer shell, then use non-insulated aluminium foil or copper foil to wrap around it while applying a thin layer of thermal grease between each layer and compressing as tightly as possible.
