Omg, I remember that YOP commercial, or at least a very similar one. I still remember watching TV in the guest bedroom of a woman my mother took care of. She was a caregiver back then. I think she looked after this one lady for close to three years, and everytime I didn't have school I'd go there. I remember sitting there in 2012-15 watching YTV and such. I had to have been at least 7-9 years old. Either way, I think those were the best years of my life, I was happy with school, I fucking loved it, I didn't swear back then, I wasn't so political back then, I didn't know about the impending nuclear annihilation. I had friends, true, real, wholesome friends. I was going to be somebody... obviously reality is often disappointing...
Even as a dude, I kinda liked that show. YTV was one of the only good channels I got on my basic cable in the basement when I was younger. I never really cared much for tv, so I never asked my parents to run the connections for satellite HD down to my room.
If there was one thing I could wish for, it would be to go back to the early 2000’s and freeze the progression of time. I don’t know what it’s like to be a kid these days, but I would give everything I have to go back to those days.
Total drama island is definitely the show I watched the hell out of back in the day. The show was more well known in Canada rather than the United States
