After a full week of reviewing the Playstation Pulse Elite Headset, I break down all the details of the headphones and decide if I will return or keep them.
Awesome review! Wicking cushions put out a video today that they are going to be having pads for this headset and they have a waiting list. The ending was funny. 😂 They should have put out the black ones also
Yep, I also like them. They really sound very clear and detailed...more like a hifi device , rather than a gaming headset. The first time I used them, I ended up listening the whole night to music on my pc. I really enjoy them, especially when I'm playing high quality games like Last of us part 2 remastered or callisto protocol. Unfortunately, they seem to disconnect from time to time... I have to reboot the ps5 then. Hope it will get fixed soon.
if they disconnect while using the dongle, press the dongle twice fast be just pushing it tick tick. it's a hidden button sony doesnt mention of..... they only say you can reset it and headset. its the double press what does the trick.
Mine would always disconnect from my ps5, so I did a full reset and removed the Bluetooth pairing from my phone to the headset and it hasn't disconnected for a week already
Great review. Charged them overnight and it was still flashing orange in the morning?. According to instructions they should switch off after they are fully charged. It's confusing because when I switch them on the green light flashes 3 times. Checked on PS5 and they are fully charged.
It sounds very clear. i love the fact pairing them with bluetooth to my phone playing audio content with the ps5 game simultanously, listening to some other relaxed things from phone while gaming. without any wiring or hdmi switches like astro does, there seperate anyway. One thing, it's not normal to use EQ like this, i would normally not do this, but this headset needs it. like 2 or 3 db in the low end > and that is weird. This means the balance is of.
The main thing i wanted was in game chat mix and that's exactly what they didn't give me. This headset does disconnect and it caused my mic not to work even when i switched to another headset and making all the necessary changes in the UI. I had to restart the Ps5 to get the mic working again. All that said these do have the very best 3d audio. You can hear more precisely where something or someone is.
I bought the headset, and it kept disconnecting from the dongle so I returned it and got another one. It hasn’t disconnected at all, the first one I updated the headset without following what it said on the screen, the second one connected the headset with plugging in the usb cable and did the update and I have not had any disconnecting problems, so plug in the usb cable to the headset like it tells you to do, it will solve the disconnect problem I’ve been playing for a week now with no disconnect problems, thanks.
Unfortunately, this isn’t true. I followed the instructions and mine still disconnect at least once per gaming session. Probably will return them. I can’t believe Sony hasn’t addressed this issue!
I don’t know, mine is doing fine and I’ve been playing the hunter call of the wild and I play for 6 to 7 hours and mine has not disconnected yet I play everyday along with other games,sorry,since I’m retired, and don’t have much else to do being by myself.i just know what I did and it worked.
So glad i got these headphones was playing a game heard a dog barking frantically far away stopped and looked outside then realized it was the game very immersive.
Mine started to keep disconnecting last night. Was working perfect, was happy with them, purchase because the 3D pulse kept disconnecting and now these are. Really disappointed. Hoping that a software fix is coming.
You must have something interfering or a dodgy usb jack on your PlayStation. Definitely not a software issue as mine have worked perfectly since 2020. If you have your usb plugged into that back of that PlayStation and not the front that’s a known issue for dropping.
I had them preordered and then cancelled. Just sticking with my wired headset since they work with every console and they sound fine. Elite doesn’t even come with an aux cable 🤦♂️
I had the pulse elite for 1 day and returned it. Here's why: 1 the lack of bass, there's no bass at all only highs and mids. 2 the comfort, they are uncomfortable and don't feel right. 3 the ratteling noise of the earcups, they are to lose and feel so weak. 4 the random disconnecting, they loos connection couple times every hour. 5 the lights on the headset are in the vision of the player. 6 they are not fit good with the psvr2. 7. No replaceable ear pads. Save your money and buy another headset!!
Trash headset. I returned 4 pairs back to Best Buy in a week, due to connection issues and a faulty dongle. It’s a known issue. I’d recommend anything thinking about buying to wait till it’s fixed.

Design is really an eye sore but I really would like to try the sound of a planar magnetic headphone and this one is affordable.

Elite. Planar magnetics just sound better. Imo.
