    It's all part of travelling, Steve. When we travel we're leaving our comfort zone and are going to meet all sorts of people, people with different cultures, characters and nationalities. It can be unpredictable and sometimes less than desirable but it's what travelling is all about. I envy you.

    This was a pretty nice looking train, despite the noise of the passengers. Pretty good views from it too. Cheers, Steve and Michelle! ✌️

    I made the mistake of booking a deluxe room suite by the pool and wow it was bad people shouting all hours past the door so we quickly moved to the first suite after the elevator it was so much better and a lot quieter but had no view.

    the scenes of those misty rice field filled with exotic palm in early morning looks like its out of this world.. but i was expecting lots a food review video from Hat Yai.. is it coming or are you giving it a miss.. as for the third class train carriage.. i don't think it look that bad.. the one in India and Bangladesh is horrific.. but the Thai train reminds me of malaysian trains way back in the 1960s.. i think thai train company is just keeping the whole thing going for another decade or so.. as a massive investment is underway to replace the system with a highspeed train linking Bangkok all the way to Singapore.. the new terminal to link all these has already been build at Bang Sue grand station in central Bangkok.. the first section of thai highspeed train project linking Bangkok to Lao and into china is almost completed.. due in 2026.. then the stretch all the way to Singapore might start with a completion date of well into the 2040s..

    • @Steve-Owens
      @Steve-Owens  Před rokem

      That section of rail will be a long time coming Azhar, perhaps 20 more years if the current leaders can agree, so I suspect we may not see it any time soon but the idea is nice. It's part of a line from Kunming China, where Michele and I were a few years back to Singapore. The line has been talked about for close on a century, originally planned by the British to link their Kunming lines to Singapore. I suspect by the time it's finished we may have invented now forms of high speed travel, who knows.
      It might look like we just rode from hat yai to Bangkok but you missed a trick it seems lol..

    Most likely, the annoying train worker has a politically connected relative, so everyone has to put up with him. The other workers probably don't like him either but they hide it.
