Doctor Who is a British science fiction television series broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The series, created by Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber and Donald Wilson, depicts the adventures of an extraterrestrial being called the Doctor, part of a humanoid species called Time Lords. The Doctor travels in the universe and in time using a time travelling spaceship called the TARDIS, which externally appears as a British police box. While travelling, the Doctor works to save lives and liberate oppressed peoples by combating foes. The Doctor often travels with companions.

I respect the hell out of Eccleston for calling them out by name, no bullshit. There is a man with an unwavering moral compass, truly The Doctor.

Sad that it's likely he won't return but Love how honest he is honestly lol

Unfun fact: After Eccleston left the BBC issued a statement saying that he left because he was tired, and after that producers wouldn't work with him anymore. The "don't you think she looks tired" line from Tennant was likely a reference to just how petty the politics behind the scenes at the BBC really are.

Good on him, hearing about his upbringing it seems like he has solid morals

“If you’re an alien why do you sound like you’re from the north?” “Lots of planets have a north.”

  • @chihauhaun

Man I loved Eccleston but I don't blame him for not wanting to go back after what went down. He's got balls to tell it like it is. You can tell the audience doesn't really get what happened though

  • @anthonyhanlon9808

I like that he also doesn't hold it against billie for returning either and stayed friends with her

  • @MairyHuffinMan

This must have been really awkward for Billie Piper 😂

  • @aviumcaravan

given Eccleston's labour union background, it all makes sense. what hurts is that every time he speaks about his time on DW you learn more things and there's more miserable info every time.

His honesty is refreshing and something we needed to hear.

I have to say. Out of all the 'New' Doctors, Christopher Ecclestone is my favorite. Because he is a very VERY good actor, and he brought something completely new to the role.

  • @LegoLiam1803

I’m glad he’s still active as the Doctor in the Big Finish audio dramas. And they are fantastic!

I see the situation as it follows. My best friend is a woman. We became friends YEARS after we met in Primary school. In 6th grade, we were in the same class, but we weren’t friends. Our teacher bullied me HARD, but my friend had a total opposite experience with the teacher. I can’t be mad at the situation these days because she has great memories from it, but my friend does understand 100% where i’m coming from. I know for a fact that Christopher would/was/is happy for Billie’s involvement with the series after the first season, regardless of what he thinks about the politics of the show.

Always liked him as an actor before doctor who and he is one of my favourite doctors, definitely my favourite of the new era, him being so honest just makes me like him even more, he was absolutely Fantastic

  • @StarRider587

At least he came back for the Big Finish 9th Doctor audio series. I havent listened to it, but I heard its really good and Eccelston's performance feels as if he never left at all.

  • @Gamatech123

It's brilliant to finally have some small form of context to the whole scenario, even if it is from just one side. I appreciate him sharing it out like that!

  • @thomaspowell1857

Eccleston is my Doctor the first Doctor I watched and grew up with. Thank you Eccleston.

  • @26thDoctor
