by texas you surely mean 'alabama'
Thats completely on me.. even though I heard him say Alabama, my loco ass was under the impression Alabama was in texas😅 my apologies.
Fun fact: if you look at the all the people sitting down at the wedding, you can see Bubba’s family sitting there.
Oh! And the actor Gary Sinise, was so moved by his character in this movie, he has spent his life now supporting wounded veterans. To see Lt. Dan come out the other end was important to him as an actor. Veterans were very supportive and commented on how it helped them, hence his decision. Art can truly do so many things for people in so many different ways! 😻💕
And thus was born the Lt. Dan Band.
The reason Lt Dan was standing at Forrest's wedding is because he spent too much of his life sitting in a chair.
Was literally just about to say this
Same!
I also don't think prosthetics in those days bent at the knees! 🤷
The context of forrest going to college that you asked about: in 1963 the federal government forced the university of Alabama to integrate. The governor of Alabama was george wallace and he symbolically blocked the door of the building that was actual footage of the event and they added forrest into it. George wallace was shot and that was actual footage. And also forrest played on a national champion team for paul bear bryant who is one of the reasons that The Crimson Tide have such a prestigious football programs
“The day you become a shrimp boat captain, I will be your first mate. That the day I become an astronaut.”
The next movie that Tom Hanks and Gary Sinese were in was “Apollo 13”.
Your "white on white crime" comment cracked me up! By the way, the "I'm walking here!" line in the movie is a nod to the same line delivered by Dustin Hoffman while crossing a New York City street in the film Midnight Cowboy.
Midnight Cowboy is a must reaction. That line was a mistake but kept in the movie.
The Watergate is a luxury hotel in Washington DC. It’s mostly associated with political corruption, especially with President Nixon who resigned after his political party broke into the hotel where the opposing political party setup their HQ.
I’ve seen a couple of other reactions to this movie but you are the first person to see how Jenny doesn’t love herself or feel worthy of his love because of her childhood. Glad to see an empathetic response! Enjoyed watching your reaction too, thank you young man! 😽💋🎥
There's a handful of reactors that are very empathetic to Jenny. I never watch one that's not; can't stand to hear the ignorant Jenny hate. I always check comments before watching a reaction to it. ❤
@@that.ll_do_pig I agree about not watching reactors that can’t grasp why Jenny is the way she is. She thought she only deserved to be treated poorly and even though she always loved Forrest, she felt he deserved someone better than her. Also, I get so frustrated with just about all those who watch this and are freaked out by the doctor and bus driver smoking. This was during a time when everyone smoked in all situations but as time went on, that all changed but it was normal back then.
48:17 Texas accent? They were from Alabama, not Texas. Famous, Iconic line: "You know what I think? I think you should go home to GREENBOW, ALABAMA!!" Tom Hanks' got his accent from Michael Conner Humphreys, the little boy who played young Forrest Sr. The kid was from Mississippi, and that's the way he talked in real life, so Hanks just imitated him, and Zemeckis loved it. So they went with it. Of course, that was the Oscar-nominated Haley Joel Osment as Forrest Gump Jr. If you have yet to react to The Sixth Sense- you should! Forrest Gump won 6 Oscars, including BEST PICTURE, BEST ACTOR for Hanks (his 2nd straight win as he won the year before for Philadelphia), and ZEMECKIS also won for Best Screenplay. Sinise (Lt. Dan) was nominated for Best Supporting Actor but lost to Martin Landau.
Yeah, they said Alabama so many times!! Plus he played Alabama football. 🤣🤣
Lol thats my bad😅 my loco ass was under the impression that Alabama was in Texas, my apologies.
7:48 wasn’t expecting a Terry Fox reference today. Made my Canadian heart smile
Terry was an inspiration.
There is a restaurant chain called Bubba Gump Shrimp. Guess where the name came from.
Ty for reaction. I'm 67, disabled veteran. Gary Sinise, aka Lt Dan has done a lot for us. Like Toby Keith.
Thank you for your service sir!
@@thatRalphieGuy terrible reaction... you got 'back to the future ' vibes from this film...
@@thatRalphieGuy and fyi. You don't got to say the f word on every sentence.
@Santino3989 yes, I got back to the future vibes from a film going through major events in American history. I get you didnt like my reaction but if you can't understand why I got those vibes early in the start... you need to get your comprehension level up. Oh FYI I can say whatever the F I want. So why don't you make like a tree, and get the F outta here.
8 minutes in, yep, I dig this. New sub. 😊
*not sure if it registered as you were understandably talking about Lt. Dan losing his legs, but none of the letters made it to Jenny. She was living the hippy life, hitchhiking the country. It was _very_ common during that time.
27:30 According to Tom Hanks he said, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing."
Such a good movie. ❤ It came out the same year as Shawshank Redemption and both nominated for best picture. Forest Gump won but both were so deserving.
1. The music rights alone must have cost a small fortune.🤑🤑
2. Kurt Russell did the voice for Elvis.
3. IRL Sally Fields is only 10 years older than Tom Hanks.
4. Having gotten his degree Forrest could have gone into the Army as an officer like Lt. Dan. His ASVAB kills that.
5. He actually saved Lt Dan twice. Once in the field and again to get him out of his post war funk and Dan turned his life around.
6. Normally an enlisted Army person would be fully aware of his/her separation date.
5. Jenny did indeed give him the best gift ever (it wasn't the shoes)
8. Jenny died of Hep-C from dirty needles when she was in Caliphony.
9. It's ironic that Lt. Dan told the guys to take care of their feet because he loses his.
10. At the rally Forrest says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."
11. You have had a ride through recent US history and culture. From Elvis, John Lennon, Abby Hoffman to Vietnam and Watergate. Even the jogging craze of the 70's. About the only thing left out was streaking.
13. "Sometimes I guess there're just aren't enough rocks"
14. Haley Joel Osmentt/Forrest Jr. steals the show in "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis.
15. Often when he's finishing a segment about death, he ends it by saying "That's all I have to say about that"
16 Keep in mind if Jenny wasn't wasting her life seeking men like her father and was with Forrest he/we wouldn't have had this incredible journey.
I don't think Jenny dies from Hep C, I think it's HIV. It's an unknown virus she said..... they would have known she had hepatitis.
heh.. oh gosh man.. that was a great watch and reaction... subscribed... thanks
Instant respect and subscribe for the Terry Fox reference. My dad ran with Terry Fox in Prince George when he was 14
Brothel??? He said folks. Haven’t you ever heard of a boarding house. Old time name for an Air BnB
Lol I know what he said. Forrest's accent just allowed me to tell that joke.
Ayy you’re watching 2 of my top 5 favorite movies back to back
I like how you balance the commentary. You don’t talk too much, just enough to react.
That was Richard Nixon, not Ronald Reagan.
Run fast like that in front of Bear Bryant you’ll get picked to play for ‘Bama
Bubba Gump's is a chain of seafood restaurants based on movie!
Such a great movie and I enjoyed watching it again with you. If you want to understand Watergate - watch 'All The Presidents Men.' Another great movie about American political history. And please forgive Jenny - her life started out so badly she never wanted Forest to be wrapped up in it. I love this movie - Forest ended up with the best gift ever - little Forest for the rest of his life. This movie struck 'quite a cord' with Gary Sinese - he's spent much of his life working with veterans.
You are one of the only reactors who understood Jenny's trauma and not loving herself enough & she is afraid she isn't good enough & may ruin his life.
the first woman he met at the bus stop was Rosa Parks, didn't pick up on it until she said it was the #4 bus
😮😮😮😮🤯
The park bench scene takes place in the 80s in Georgia. You're about 30 years off and in the wrong state.
@HalcyonX86 never thought of the time line to he honest seeing as he met so many historical persons of our time. Lol I heard her say the #4 bus and my mind raced
Beautiful movie beautiful reaction 💗
Hey Ralphie...been a while! Looking forward to watching you watch this.
New Sub ✌️ Thoroughly Enjoyed this reaction and it's honestly one of the best movies ever made in my opinion!
Это была замечательная реакция и о личное резюме😊
Also Canadian, so never learned a lot of this history in school, but yeah, iconic film. Love watching people experience it for the first time and appreciated the genuine reaction!
Great reaction! Please watch -Steel Magnolias 1989 -Fried Green Tomatoes 1991 -Ghost 1990 -Thanks
2nd all of those! Great line up.
OMG dude ... haven't seen you in ages ... i was one of your big Game of thrones fan
Forest was on the Autism spectrum but i think it was never said, it was implied and to show just how amazing people on the spectrum are and how they are smarter in a lot of ways. I believe it was implied also Jenny died of some sort of Hepatitis from past drug use and back then there wasnt much treatment or knowledge. You gotta think even when the movie was over they were still young enough looking to have been in the Vietnam War. Im southern American, there are so many different sounding accents. Also, you said you werent from US, where then?
He was from Alabama not Texas..
Okay, i will ask. I had no clue you weren't American. You sound 100% American to me. I was going to guess Canadian if not American but you don't sound Canadian either. Are you in Guam or the Philippines then?
Lol yeah I'm Canadian.
@@thatRalphieGuy Well Eh, then. Lol. You literally sound like you can be from California like me.
different provinces have different accents, just like different states. all of bc sounds more or less like cali.
The sound cut at the Washington monument only exists in the censored US version.
The day he's a strip boat captain is the day he's an astronaut.... His legs titanium alloy, what they use on the space shuttle..(mic drop)
That actually blew my mind lol
there is one deleted scene where he meets MLK
It was more hep-c
The Actor That Played "Bubba" Was Very Lucky To Get That Roll Because He Just Got Out Of Jail For Killing Someone
mykelti williamson? Source? He was involved in a stabbing a few years _after_ this movie came out. He was acquitted in that case.
*Michael Jace played the Black Panther (and many other popular roles) and he killed his wife in front of their kids in 2014
@@that.ll_do_pig My Mistake
That was not a Texas accent.
You wonder why there was no chair for LT.Dan to sit.? Would you wanna sit if you've in a wheelchair for all those years???😊
He was best man. It is the best man role to stand up there. Dan was probably proud that he could stand for his friend.
Did he just say Ronald Reagan when Richard Nixon came onscreen?
I did...with confidence too...LOL I'm sorry I'm canadian.
Radio 2003 starring Cuba Gooding jr. it's a lot like this sort of with mentally challenge kid and based off a true story. Check it out please?
Really enjoyed your reaction

Life is like a box of chocolates……most of it tastes like shit!
Texas accent???? This content creator isn't the smartest out there
You run your mouth to much. And swear too much.
