🎵 Intro/Outro: Imaginary - Broken Elegance - Krátké a kreslené filmy
"What we did in The Mandalorian was respecting what had come before" - That's the key to success of this show
Shots fired
George Lucas himself is the Grandmaster of Lucas Order, guiding the minds of Jedi masters Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. Soon enough all 3 will fight the Disney Galactic empire. The force is with them all.
Imagine that!
💯
Right. Too many idiots try to make something new, why try to fix something that isn’t broken.
George Lucas on the set
This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
I have spoken *cough cough*
Dave Filoni guys... He's like the closest to George Lucas we'll ever have.
Well, yep. He did mentor under George. Apparently they talk often. I wouldn't be surprised if George tells Dave what he wants to see and Dave puts it in his material.
George Lucas was a fantastic world builder, and a mediocre director and story teller
Dave Filoni knows how to take George Lucas' absolutely insane world and tell amazing stories in that world.
I wouldn't say they're similar. I'd say they're perfect complements to each other.
He will surpass george
I hope he will take over Kennedys Job
Lucas is the closest to Lucas we'll ever have, actually.
I love how Lucas is rocking the baby like its actually alive .
*Everyone* acts like Grogu is alive: they can't help it. Nice to know George isn't immune to it either, even liking the fact he's called Grogu's great-great-great grandfather.
How rude of you to assume it isn't! xP
Sometimes in the show I wasn't certain if it was actually animatronic or CGI... Now I know for sure.
@@540VarialHunter CGI only stepped in to fill the things the puppet couldn't do, but stay within the limits of it's capabilities.
@@girl1213 the first season was completely cgi but they need have him be more hands on for the second with everything so then they made the puppet
@@charmz6808 Did you watch the Gallery? They talk more about that.
Seeing her with the costume laughing with Lucas is just... idk, can't even describe how good it feels.
I honestly cried, star wars is reborn now and it feels REALLY GREAT.
This is how you handle Star Wars, with love, passion and respect. What a xmas gift guys!
Feels like old times
Such a beautiful picture. Seeing George with Ahsoka O M G like we haven't had enough nerdgasams
Same got that feeling too
"What we did in The Mandalorian is respect what came before."
That is why you succeed.
And thats why its also pure fanservice and zero challenge.
@@perseusveil9376 That's as if you'd say that every Western is zero challange and every work set in a franchise is pure fanservice.

@@perseusveil9376 zero challenge? What an obsolete comment... 🤦🏻♂️
The fact Rosario's movement coach can say "A little more darth maul" tells you just how perfect her casting was.
Yap. You just know how everybody on the set, even the stunt people just know what they are working with. They know it, they respect it, they love it. That is the key to success.
I disagree, she's too tall, too big-boned, and too stiff to be Ashoka. When I look at her all I see is Rosario Dawson. I don't see Ashoka Tano. I think she's horribly miscast. I realize this is an unpopular opinion, and a lot of fans wanted her. I am not one of those fans.

The stunt double is Caitlin Dechelle, who also stunt doubles for Bo-Katan.
When he said “people know this character, they’ve watched her grow up” it hit close to home
It's insane to think about..When she was first introduced she was only a 14 years old kid, not knowing anything of the war, inexperienced and naive to her surroundings..And now look at her. She has matured so much and has become such a strong, independent woman, walking on the path she has created for herself and not the one the Jedi put her on when she was just a child.
Imagine if someone watches the show without having watched Clone Wars or Rebels. That was the case with someone I know and he thought she was evil because she was introduced to him cutting down soldiers in a misty forest like a horror-movie villain. 😂
The first time I ever saw Ashoka was in the malevolence Episode when she and Anakin saved Plo Koon
"WATCH" her grow up....I grew up WITH her 😆😭
The growth of Ahsoka, from a young brat that's irritating to watch to someone that can make fans jump in excitement, is really wonderful.
"I intentionally did not do anything with her in season 1 because I didn't wanna mess it up"
What a smart guy who knows his strengths and weaknesses.
He created Ahsoka. How could he mess it up tho? If anyone can do Ahsoka it’s him.
@@uniform1901 Because it wasn't the right time. He was smart and played his cards right. And it payed off in Season 2.
If they had introduced Ahsoka in season 1, it would've drastically changed viewers' image of The Mandalorian. It would've felt more like The Clone Wars and Rebels instead of it's own unique and original identity of a bit more adult "space-western" set in the SW universe.
@@uniform1901 I think one of the reasons is because Filoni has never directed live action before The Mandalorian and he probably didn't want his first try to be with Ahsoka in case he failed at it.
@@TheBalloonBob it also was his first live action feature, he probably wanted to familiarize himself with the media before bringing in a loved character like ahsoka.
George didn't even show up for the ROS premiere, now to see all these set photos with him and being happy and involved with Star Wars again is such a breath of fresh air.
Well, he’s the creator of both the Yoda and Ahsoka. He deserves to be there to see them in flesh. Plus Filoni and Favreau has so much respect for him, he is Dave’s Master, of course they would invite him.
@@basak9746 he created a bit more than just yoda and ahsoka
@@maerinmaerin4626 no duh
Feels bad that you didn't know. Lucas was involved in the story writing with jj for rise of Skywalker. But at one point disney didn't took his ideas nor did they let jj freely direct. Thats why lucas didn't came at the premier.
@@basak9746 That's...exactly what I'm saying, The sequels were a disaster, he no longer wanted anything to do with them and now that he sees Star Wars is once again bringing joy to people he is back in with it and he himself is enjoying it, it's good to see
"What we did in The Madalorian was respecting everything that came before"
This single line shows one of the main reasons why The Mandalorian is apreciated by the fans
And why the sequels failed.
I find it quite poetic that she essentially led Grogu to finding Luke - her master’s son, and yet she has no idea he exists, let alone the best Jedi in the galaxy, trained by Yoda.
I absolutely NEED the Ahsoka Show to introduce Ahsoka to Luke Skywalker. It would be the single coolest thing ever, not to mention super emotional too. It would just be perfect. Having her discover that this young jedi is in reality her former master's son, and that through Luke's faith in his father that Anakin returned to the light at the end of his life would be such a shocking revelation but also a huge relief for Ahsoka.
Ahsoka does not even know Luke exists.. How surprising for Ahsoka would be if they met and Luke says his last name..
Luke is already famous galaxy wide by that point for defeating Vader and Palpatine, so Ahsoka should know about him.
@@emmaspencer4586 I'm kind of hoping this happens because the Ahsoka series will crossover with The Mandalorian in a "climactic event". Considering Grogu is such an important part of that series I can't imagine they'll just never have him appear again. Since he's with Luke, there's the potential for them all to cross paths.
@@emmaspencer4586 there is a ahsoka live action show in production, I think it’s gonna air in the next two years I think it’s a spin-off of rebels of her and Sabine looking for Ezra

Don't think for one second Disney has some kind of magical involvement in the movies and they don't with the show. The only difference is you people seem to like the work people at lucasfilm do on the show more than the work that people at lucasfilm do on the movies
"I intentionally did not do anything with her in season 1, because I didn't want to mess it up"

No you don’t. You’re just saying you do because you hate the disney sequels 🙄 Star Wars fans are so predictable
@@brucish whats wrong with hating the sequels
@J.R. Spingly not really, the prequels ain't anything near gold. Atleast they're a bit better than the sequels
@J.R. Spingly ehh, they have their fair share of problems. They're not even close to being masterpieces. It's just stupid how people move to hate the new and love the old which they hated
@@brucish and you are pathetic lol
Samurai feel...every thing about that episode had a Kurosawa feel or a leone feel...the camera shots especially and the lighting in the woods the time of day the fog or Ashoka's battle with the magistrate...and the natural sounds like the wind and the water in between the battle sounds....the director of that episode definitely been watching Kurosawa and Sergio Leone for sure...and he took those lessons to heart and did a great job... massively impressed

ikr? She was amazing as Ahsoka
And 3:09
Omg You’re so right
Yes all of her energetic smiles reminded me of her clone wars days, she really looks like her it’s unbelievable. I hope we see this side of her again in her own show, I know she’s in a very depressed state because of her encounter with Vader at the moment, but just wishing for her to know Anakin returned at the end so she could be a little bit of happy again.
They chose well
It's great to see Rosario Dawson behind the scenes as Ahsoka Tano especially seeing her meet Geroge Lucas on set

I literally don't know who would've been a better cast for Ashoka than her... This really meant a lot for fans, but I wonder what it means for Dave. Just look at how he looks at her... That's a sight of a kid who's life-long dream was fulfilled in that very moment..
For real, even tho I don't like Rosario that much she's the perfect cast
*whose (possessive)

I personally though Zoe saldana would have been a perfect fit but I’m plenty happy with Rosario
Looking at this, Ashoka Tano was made for her. Period.
She is just utterly perfect for this role!
The Mandalorian has returned the feeling.
Star Wars is giving me that childlike feeling
of nostalgic magic again.
I don't even have the last 3 in my collection.
Just hand StarWars over to Fav and the Mandalorian
crew and return balance back to the damn Force!
The Ahsoka/Boba/Luke episodes had me
cheering like i was a 6 year old in Pj's.
GREAT WORK!!!!!
I think the nostalgic feeling created from this show is mainly deprived from the fact that they use cgi sparingly, which I absolutely love!! They are trying to capture the authentic Star Wars feel by creating costumes for characters and using as much of a physical set they can, the cg is mainly reserved for things that are impossible to do in live action which I love! It really gives this show a more retro feeling when they use actual costumes design and create the majority of the backgrounds to be on the set, I also really like how they use the giant screens those are very kool and creative.
@@theremycrocks6861 it looks amazing i have to agree but i kinda like some of the prequel cgi stuff (where its done right like in some great scenes of RoTS) thats maybe because im a prequel fan thanks to growing up with them. But if you prefer the classic look of the OT definietly Mando captures that.

Ahsoka referencing Anakin in The Mandalorian was so bitter sweet if you grew up watching the Clone Wars. Rosario's performance was perfect as an elder Ahsoka that went through severe grief but one who is still an extremely powerful (former) Jedi.
Seeing Lucas happy around Star Wars again gives me hope for the future of the franchise!
I love that George was able to come on set and see it all for himself
Sad they didn't show the first moment filoni and Lucas saw Rosario all dresssed up as Ahsoka. Rosario says they both looked at her but not at her. They were looking at their precious creation aka Ahsoka Tano
This was one of the best tv episodes I'v ever seen, topped only by the season 2 finale. What a great job everyone who works on this show has done, a hearty thank you from a long time star wars fan!
This was very well put together. Thanks for your time on this.
Listen. I'm a simple woman. I see George happy, I am complete. You can tell he loves what they're doing here.

so glad to see them do her character justice, I grew up with that character watching the cartoon as a kid and to see that episode was really dope.
When Rosario puts on the costume and starts snapping her fingers... There you are Ahsoka😍💙
"Snips."
She looks like how Ahsoka Tano would really look like in real life.
I can’t wait to see her near Hayden and Ewan, I hope they do that somehow!
@@basak9746 The thing is Rosario represents Lady Ahsoka tano very well. Had a live action taken place years ago when teenaged Ahsoka was created, she would have done well portraying Ahsoka as she looked at the siege of Mandalore.
That’s the point sergeant
@@nishantjoshi5174 not really. Held the lightsabers wrong, fighting style was completely different, attitude/character was completely different as well. Felt like I was watching either a parody or a knock off $1 version. She represented nothing true to Ashoka at all besides how she looks.
@@nathandrums0 lol, of course animated and real life is not the same, never has been
I really do hope they do a flashback to season 7 of The Clone Wars, episode 9, "Old Friends Not Forgotten", with Ahsoka and Annakin meeting up with Rex and the clones that had painted their helmets orange, in honour of their old Jedi commander Ahsoka. Such an iconic moment in Star Wars history!!
Chills, I can't explain why but my eyes were watery and I had chills for most of this. It was like nostalgia overload, the attention to detail combined with their passion gives me hope for the future of SW.
This was Star Wars done right! This series, especially the last episode, made me feel like a kid again! The sequels didn't come close to achieving that, except for Rogue one
Glad someone enjoyed Rogue One as I did. They had love and respect in for that film; unfortunately, it wasn't the same for the Sequels....which never happened.
you probably never saw Force Awakens
@@poldiklapzuba9898 I liked the Force Awakens, it went down hill after that. The last jedi and the rise of skywalker just kinda killed the sequels as a whole.

"Only two there are, a master and apprentice." -Yoda " But who is the master and apprentice?" - Mace Windu. Dave Feloni with the mentorship of both George and Jon, you will become the hope and light that allows Star Wars to continue for generations, never lose your Modesty and Character, "you're our only hope."
@Aurang what a load of BS. Favreau was never a mentor to Dave Filoni. If it wasn't for Filoni, Favreau would be just another MCU director. It was Filoni that met Favreau at ILM when Favreau was doing Ironman, and Filoni was working on the Clone Wars animated series. Filoni suggested Favreau star in an episode of the series but wanted to play a Mandalorian, so Filoni created Pre Vizsla just for him. The two became friends. George Lucas on the other hand HAS been a mentor to Filoni; the two have worked a long time together.
"But which was destroyed? The Master, or the Apprentice."
@@jeffburnham6611 so what are *YOU* trying to proove in this argument?
@@youngspecial64 He's not trying to prove anything. Filoni was always the one in charge. Filoni basically made both TCW and Rebels worth watching, and he saved the whole disaster that was the prequel movies with TCW show. Everything that is amazing about Mandalorian comes from TCW. I'm guessing 90% of people haven't watched TCW show though, so they're probably missing out on everything going on in the show.

That opening sequence was an instant classic. Filoni knocked it clear out of the park.
Seeing both George and Dave's shining eyes and smiles when they look at their creation comes to life... just perfect!
