- Today I show how to change out the low beam HID D1S bulb in the e92 headlights to a brighter and whiter xenon bulb to improve night time visibility and match the upgraded Angel Eyes. This DIY tutorial applied to the e90, e92, and e93 3 series models (328i, 335i, & M3). Let me know if you have any questions, thanks for watching!

The new bulbs look great with the bright Angel Eyes, great job 👏🏼
Thanks man!
Thanks dude, l’ve been looking everywhere trying to find a video for this.
Glad you found it helpful! Good luck 👍
Awesome! Adding this to the list for sure 🤙
Great to hear! Can’t wait to see it 🙌
that's some real transformation! I always consider the headlight the soul of the car, it should be kept clean and bright haha! I used to upgrade the HID to 6000K, it's bright white and gives you a good view at night. When I was in college I used to put 9000K HID on my E36, it's so blue like police car lol
Thanks for sharing Carl! Yea the HID light upgrade helps with the look and night time driving visibility for sure.
Yes Sal, you read my mind! Was literally just thinking of changing these haha. They look great!
Haha! Thanks, great minds think alike 😝
@@Sals_Garage haha indeed they do! Keep up the great content brother.
Looks so much cleaner and brighter 💙💙
Agreed! Thanks wifey!
Thanks, Sal. If it keeps happening I’ll go with the lights you did. I already have them saved.
Thanks for the comment! Good luck 👍
Nice OEM+ look. 👍
Thanks man! 🙏
Much better. Will need to do on my me93. The yellow is not bright up when I drive at night.
Thanks for the comment! Good luck 👍
Love the very start of the video ,eh cool car man cool car what is that Ferarri or maybe this one BMW i dont know😂
😆
Hi Sal, what mod did you do to your daily light? Looks much better than the factory yellow ones.
Hi! It’s precision raceworks Angel eyes: precisionraceworks.com/products/bmw-e92-e93-m3-halo-kit
Sal-Great video. Have you had any problems with these headlights since installation. I installed D1S LED headlights in my e92 M3 almost exactly 1 year ago and am now having intermittent issues. Bulb going off and on.
Haven’t had any issues for the past 2 years. Hope you can fix your issue soon. Good luck 👍
Great video man
So if i do these do i need to purchase a control unit ?
No need, they come with the control unit in the bulb.
Does this apply to stock headlight as well? thanksss
Yes 👍
one of mine just started to light pink and hardly give any light. gonna assume it’s going out and replace both of them
Correct. Good luck 👍
@@Sals_Garage Ordered the same ones you got, how are they holding up?
@@cristian198 so far so good 👍

@@Sals_Garage oh wow. Thx. They look great. I'm looking for an update for my e92 328i
@@49cohibas53 awesome! Thanks for the comment.
Have these bulbs last you? Give us a update overall pls!
2 years later and still going strong and bright 💪
Is the D1S bulb the same as the one on a pre lci E92?
Yes it is.
@@Sals_Garage awesome, thank you so much
@@scud69er anytime!
Isn't it easier to change from the top ? Can pull off the plastic top on the head light
This bulb cannot be changed from the top. Only the angel eye bulb.
@@Sals_Garage yes my bad
@@naders5 all good. 👍
How have these held up?
Perfect so far, no issues to report.
@@Sals_Garageare these in your car right now? I think I saw another video of you switching to a unit you had to splice wires for. Between these and that other LED set, which one would you say was better?
@@DjBoonyc I use these now: czcams.com/video/Jvu-YoYzT60/video.htmlsi=8v8V2cxaTuy5sBKW
Overall I would recommend the HID bulbs because they are cheaper and easier to install. The LEDs are brighter though.
Great look. They match perfectly!! Well done Sal. 🤍
Thanks Jerms 😊
👍🏻
Thanks Sauce!
NIce these dont throw error codes?
None at all.
Did anyone else have leaking headlights after changing to these bulbs?
Sorry to hear, sounds like you might need to change the gasket on the rear cover of the housing.
Do you mean of the gasket of the black cover?
@@emin911 yes, that is the only cover removed when changing the bulb. Double check the gasket isn’t pinched.
I'm pretty sure somewhere in the comments someone already made you aware that that's not an e92. It's an e93...😐😑😐
Yes, but it is compatible with all e9X M3s
