  • Join me on an epic 36 mile hiking and wild camping adventure through the stunning Peak District. Starting at Owler Tor, we'll make our way across the iconic Stanage Edge to Stanage Pole, taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside along the way. We'll then venture across Derwent Moor, passing Back Tor and around Derwent Reservoir and Howden Reservoir, before making our way up to the impressive Alport Castle and down to Ladybower Reservoir.
Following the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, we'll journey through picturesque valleys and tranquil woodlands, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the surrounding landscape. And finally, we'll traverse the stunning Padley Gorge before finishing our incredible journey.
On the journey I start with good weather before the heavy rain and strong winds that normally accompany my trips turn up again, but the stunning scenery and unique experiences along the way are well worth the effort. So grab your backpack and join me on this unforgettable journey through the heart of the Peak District!

That was a nice little spot there actually mate. Defo more peaceful than where I was pitched. You were right to stay off the hills.

It was a good, although I did pitch a bit too in the shrubs and did have a bit of a scare with some lights further down. But was very glad to be out the winds, even more after watching yours!

We love them hard hills Chris - a decent workout there. A bugger losing your clamp. Hey, we know you never intended to litter the hills. Gotta say a lovely pitch ideal as far as aesthetics are concerned. Only mad people leave litter behind in such places. Well, with awesome views a well decent 36 miles I'd say. Have a great week ahead. Mark

Cheers Mark, as much as I love Lincolnshire sometimes you just need to get into some proper hills! Was trying out a magnetic holder for my clamp for ease of use, problem was when I put the rain cover on, must have knocked it out and not realised! Never like littering even if it is accidentally! But it was a lovely camp to enjoy, and was much needed!

@@ramblebob1 A pleasure Chris. Oh yeah we gotta get big hills in - fills us up. Hey, live and learn about the clamp. Good to hear of the ethics and camp. Peace.

I end up doing that too much, walking over water. Gets us to nice places though, glad you managed to get that spot instead of in the battering winds

It can be fun, but was a bit damp already! Pitch was a bit tight to keep out of site but always a lovely night out in nature. Not that I need to tell you!
