Looking back, I actually think this is very well made and one of Gleeson's best performances. It's the film that manages to permanently disturb and disgust thousands of Irish students, and you can't get that reputation by being lazily made.

This movie is peak Irish filmography. My favourite part was when the guy stood up and said "It's Cáca Milis'in time" and Millis'd all over the train. Truly the most exquisite scene of all time. Bravo Vince.

I watched it today and boy I can relate to the man. I have asthma before and it was bad. Had it for 2 years. The ending of this is really disturbing. She does nothing to help him and she just let him die because of her being annoyed by him.

Google says this was shot on 35mm film, and I doubt there's any visual effects, so a 4k transfer is definitely possible.

We were watching this in school but we never reached the end of it because the school bell rang. I remember saying out loud that I didn't like the woman and she just rubbed me off the wrong way. But some other kids in class who had seen it said that the old man is actually the bad guy. Few months later, I come back to watch this to the very end and I still have no clue what they meant by that...

I can't say what I think of the woman without being censored. She is a right . However, I really hate the guy too, and almost can't blame her. I think the whole point of the film is "which of these two characters do you like the least?"

Edit: on closer inspection I realized that the food cart people could save him because when cut from oxygen the body enters sleep mode to try and save what little it has left so if the cart gets to him before he is officially brain dead he could be saved

A true hidden gem. Brilliant acting performances. Funny thing is, when you immerse yourself in the story the running time of this short seems to be much longer than the actual, a mere 18 mins. I'm aware of this movie being meme-fied to oblivion and accused of ruining the lives of few generations of young Irish people tho 😂
