      Don't know what Weems was doing wrong . No matter what Harley it was . If it was one of the two sportsters I had. The Roadking or the first Roadglide I had or the current one I've always got a thumbs up or someone telling how good the bikes looked.

      Got to give the dyno room a good test for EPA requirements 👍...
      Everytime I hear that work "chopp'in it" makes me shutter 😭😭😭but it's for autism, so cut that fcuker up❗
      Looking forward to the finished product.

      Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾

    Ironheads hold a special place in my heart, dad gave me his 76 ironhead and this winter we start to completely rebuild it top to bottom, excited doesn't begin to describe it!

    I bought a 77 right off the show room floor a Friday the 13th. I had to have 3 starters put on it in the first year. The plastic on the points that rode on the lobe broke on me on the way back from Florida. The pressure relief stuck and oil ran down my right lag at a stop light. All in the one year that I owned it. I traded it in on a used KZ 900 LTD. That bike was the main reason I bought my 2018 Iron 1200. Being my age now memories mean a lot to me now. The memory of riding with my father on his 59 pan head is the main reason I bought my Street Glide. I'm now rebuilding a 71 Triumph T120R/65 TR6 hardtail chopper that I've had for over 31 years in the corner of the garage. The motor locked up on me the other day. I've got it torn apart now down to were I'm about to spit the case.

    "WOW" never thought I would see this bike again, I had this exact same model back in 1985 when I bought it off the local MC. Believe it or not, out of all the bikes I`ve owned it was and still is the best bike I`ve ever had. It had minimal mods and looked mean, still had the original red HA paint. I still miss that bike.

    For a moment I thought that was my old bike but my king queen seat went higher up the sissy bar. Other than that it's identical to mine. I took mufflers off and drove a steel rod through them to make it run and sound nicer. Good luck with your project I'll be following.

    That Sporty is way cool it survived almost 50 years in its present form. You are going to hell for this. Maybe purgatory . Can you tell I owned a 77 of the same line. At least it is for a good cause. Good luck. Send me the tank.

    Everything Weems has been through and still goes through on a daily, for him to have such a positive outlook on life is divine. There are a million Iron head's out there original and cheap as their value is crap. Chop it and stuff it like a pig, it's an AMF, not a Harley.

    • @getoffmygrass6974
      @getoffmygrass6974 Před 2 lety

      Yes. They almost put Harley out of business or even worse, provoked the near launch of "Project Nova". This is an "Iron" or a Sportster as they were just called before the Evo came out but as sought after as "Shovel's" are, you couldn't give one away in the 80's. Now, younger generation's are paying top dollar for Nostalgic and cool factor's. The "Irony" (Pun intended) is thick lol.

      Nah, the market is flooded with XLCH's, so much their value in mint condish is crap. Kinda like the Flathead, only not nearly as sought after. Now a Knuckle, that would be Sacrilege.
