    • @stevesebzda570
      @stevesebzda570 Před 5 lety +2

      Mr.Puzzle , you could improve this puzzle and make it more difficult easily, couldn't you ?
      One tiny thing might be;
      I'm surprised those boards didn't slide-out in BOTH directions with a stopping-point-thing on the inside.
      That would have slowed you down, huh ?? Lol 😮😂😂🎶
      [[ Edit, a BIG EDIT 'cause I thought of something lol:
      You could do this NOW on THIS one. ;)
      You could dremel-out the other side so they would slide-out.. (but FIRST dremel-out some slots on the top and through each board (for stopping pins) so you would have that original position for holding them fast while you did it).. then of course you'd do that side cabinet opening 2nd like mentioned already..
      Guess what ?? Lol
      You'll be turned into a woodworking channel because you'll be sanding and polyurethaning on the side,
      and you'll be using Wood Putty to fill back in that top slot, sanding coloring/staining and whatever else to make it look natural, too.
      Did I forget to say again, you can include that drilling/hollowing-out with that Dremel, to boot ?? Lol
      Just give it to someone with these specs for your improved design.
      Tell them to make a video for ya' though, or YOU do it.
      You'll be a Woodworking Puzzling and Everything Else Channel in no time.
      😅😅😂😂🎶🎶
      [[ forgot: ya can mix them slotted boards up too. Keep each five separate but ya can put them in any direction ya want. Don't look at them again. Theyll be mixed up anyway but don't memorize ant pattern about them.
      Cheers. ;)

    • @stevesebzda570
      @stevesebzda570 Před 5 lety

      Mr.Puzzle , oh never mind some of that. lol
      I didn't realize those sliders already went out both sides.
      Those pegs on the sliders prevented 'them' from coming out you meant.
      It's fine the way it is.
      Presenting this to a friend with a cold drink can inside, if the puzzle was improved, it would be hot as heck by the time they got into it. Lol 😂
      Improve your quality rating to include, "a visible cold drink inside (tempting them) staying cold for a fiend".
      That's a joke lol 😂

    @fk319fk Před 5 lety +2

    I think the solution is fine, but I have some thoughts on the puzzle. First I wonder how the technique would work if the pins on the inner cage where not in the exact position. I think this would cause random tension. Second, why are the slides of the keys pinned? it seems they do not need to be there when the puzzle is locked. Changing the "L" space to a "U" space and letting them slide out when the inner cage is removed would allow the puzzle to be rekeyed. Having a U would allow the pins to be inserted from either side, aka left or right. A subtle change to the "U" can allow 3 or 4 positions. With a little change, the pins can be changed so there are different keying on the top and bottom, now the key is not only left and right, but can be turned upside down.

    If I see it clearly, there aren't lots of combinations. Just 2^10, 1024.

    I know The Isis Pyramid puzzle is expensive. Is there a chance you'll review this puzzle?

    I would like to see the text that's printed on the door. It was just too small for me to read, and I wonder if there could be a clue to the solution.

    I don't think it should be a 2. A lot of puzzles that you have to figure out how to solve are basically 2 way. Lets say (1) to disassemble, then some times they are just as hard to (2) reassemble. This one, once you have it open there is no difficulty at all getting it back to the beginning..

    Way too easy to break. We used to do a similar thing with combination locks on bicycles at school. If you pulled the two ends of the mechanism and rotated the dials you could undo them in less than 30 seconds and we swapped around about 20 locks one day at school. We weren't so cruel to ride off and leave everybody stuck, but it was funny. Could undo locks that people had forgotten the code on also. Always worth a quid or two.
