I’m currently waiting for stamped plans for our project in HB CA. converting my garage into Jr ADU, and adding an Attached 1 bedroom ADU in the back. So Cal Gas co has a multi family manifold so each unit will have its own meter, Electricity each unit will have its own meter. One of My biggest expenses will be the main water line. I have a 3/4” from the city but not big enough. So at this point I’m just going to bite the bullet pay for adding the extra two meters and each unit will be completely individually metered and in the long run will pay for itself. Aside from adding extra value being completely individually metered. It can be a landlords nightmare when it’s not. Do you have any experience with Solar panels and is it Worth if. I want to get Tesla panels for the main house and power wall.

I hope you are able to. Studios are highly profitable with minimum cost and impact. Usually just 1 person living on your property.
