I saw several people have requested for using the footage. Since I am not quite responsive on CZcams, I sometimes replied too late. Therefore, if anyone wants to use it in the future, just go ahead and do so. Just kindly leave a comment :) I am also glad to see the resulting video that contains the footage :)
@@arturocubos4077 Sorry for the late reply! You can find the moon phase and moon rise/set time here www.timeanddate.com/moon/usa/champaign?month=8&year=2021 Don't forget to change the location. Unfortunately, it appears that Aug 20-22, 2021 has full moons, which is bad for viewing stars. You may want to find a day that has a new moon.
this video literally brought a tear to my eye. this is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen. Times like this are when im the most grateful that God blessed me with vision (and for creating such a beautiful universe) and times like this are when i feel the worst for the blind. Thank you for sharing this with us, (and this was posted on my birthday :D)
This is SO beautiful, thank you for allowing others to use. I am having a retreat there next month and included this video in the Eventbrite invitation. LOVE!
Hi Andy Great timelapse. I am also planning to take some nightscape photo at Enchanted rock. What website or software do you use to determine moonset and Milky way location at specific date and time? Thanks
Moon phase www.moonconnection.com/moon_phases_calendar.phtml Moonrise/set time www.timeanddate.com/moon/usa/time I use Stellarium to locate the Milkyway. Don't bother chasing the Milkyway now. The Milkyway core is visible only in the summer months in the US. Enjoy :)
Hi Andy Thank you for sharing great video. I am also planning on taking the milky way up on the Enchanted rock but not sure if i could climb at night. were you able to? did you camp up on the summit whilst recording this?
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! I climbed up the rock before sunset, but I had to retrieve some stuff from my car after dusk, so I did do the climb again in the dark. I think if you have never climbed it, it's better to familiarize yourself with the route before trying in the dark. I remembered that camping on the rock was forbidden, so I'm afraid that you can not set up a tent on it. In addition, technically you need to reserve a campsite for staying on the rock because day use vehicles are not allowed to park overnight. Back then, I was a bit worried about snakes or other dangerous animals, so I was up all night, but in the end, I did not encounter any. There was barely any vegetation on the rock, so I guess the chance to encounter dangerous animals would be low, but I suggest that you check with the park rangers for details. BTW, although the temperature may be quite high during the day, I suggest that you bring more clothes with you if you want to be on the rock at night. It would be quite cold and windy. Good luck!

I would think it has to be. Its amazing but I doubt its untouched. I've taken night video footage, not on a high end DSLR but you can get a lot more out of a great shot with software.
SAVAGE308SNIPER sorry I didn't check comments frequently. Yes it was post processed but not much. If I would redo it now I would put much more post processing into it. In case you wonder how it looks straight from camera back, here is an example i.imgur.com/duD2deb.jpg

I think I used full frame 16mm f/2.8 25s ISO3200 or alike :)

You can't see this with the naked eye, can you?
Jacob Limon The Milky Way is not as pronounced but definitely visible and distinguishable with naked eyes.
Make sure you are in a place that has little light pollution and time of the year matters.
How does this have 10k views
Well, it took 5 years to accumulate to the current number. It's not a popular video by any means.
