I'd definitely buy an audio version of North and South if he were the reader. There was a brief piece on the Armitage Army website (I think) but haven't looked for it in ages. His voice is sublime.

It is always a deep and true pleasure to be able to hear about one of my most esteemed passions such as literature, reading and books. Listening carefully to the literary tastes of a person can be observed a little more his soul and sensitivity.

Я видела его в роли доктора Астрова в спектакле " Дядя Ваня " по Чехову. Очень убедительно играл.
@@martinam9478 я фанат Чехова и фанат Ричарда так что разумеется её я тоже смотрел, он одна из жемчужин той постановки. Астров один из моих любимых персонажей литературы в принципе

Я смотрела Астрова в исполнении Сергея Бондарчука, Кирилла Лаврова, Лоренца Оливье (одно время был мужем Вивьен Ли). И вот Ричард Армитидж. Единственное смущало, что в спектакле чернокожая Елена. Это всё - таки Чехов. И на мой взгляд, никакой был дядя Ваня.
@@martinam9478 для меня Астров в исполнении Соломина на очень высоком уровне. И постановка Театра Европы в Петербурге моя самая любимая. Насчёт Елены не соглашусь, мне очень понравилась её интерпретация. Розалинд Элеазар это первая Елена которая не вызвала у меня отторжения при моём очень негативном отношении к этой героине. Она открыла для меня Елену с новой стороны. И Тоби Джонс для меня как раз идеальный Ваня, очень ему идёт эта роль.
