It’s always been one of my dreams to go jet boating in New Zealand. We always had full sized fiberglass jet boats when I was a kid and when I came across this channel I knew that this is what I want to do someday.
had a great idea. enclose a the area in the bow as a fresh air box for the motor. with a quick close door so the driver can slam it shut to keep out water from the intake but still have enough air to run the motor for a few seconds perhaps more. another idea.. another spring loaded trap door on the side of the pump inlet.. cable operated.. so you might be able to use the jet pump as a bilge pump. might have to put in a sliding gate over the pump inlet grill also.. could be slid closed when heading for the grass also. if you box in the sides of the hull with thin sheets you might also have enough volume to prevent the hull from ever sinking if you get swamped. just some ideas from a very dry californian. who always wanted to put a jet pump in an aluminum oregon dory hull..
Curious about these boats and jet manifold. you build em yourself? Where do you find the plans..? I live in sweden lets say this isnt a common sport / hobby..
I'd say it's pretty much 50/50 whether he is actually sponsored. I did search for sponsorship's, but couldn't turn up anything. It is quite possible I'm off base though. You folks may be a lot more genuine down there. Here in the States, there are tons of posers who will decal a boat/truck/car/bike/etc to simply appear as if they are sponsored. Sort of a "cool" factor, if you will.
It matters that much to you on principle? What a bizarre comment to make on such an awesome video. People put the GoPro watermark on their edits or a GoPro sticker on their whatever, upload the video, and cross their fingers for a call from GoPro. It doesn't take too many brain cells to connect those dots, does it? People will piss on nearly anything these days. Just enjoy the damn video, nerd.
