- This was at The Home Depot in Huntington, NY. Since I worked there for the summer, I did some special things in the video! The self checkouts have NCR hardware and Fujitsu software. These self checkouts have since been replaced by a newer NCR machine with custom software. Most stores are receiving this now.
Ah yes an NCR Series 4/5. Too often I dealt with these units at the Walmart I work at. Now we have either series 10/11 and those machines are quite a bit nicer than what we had.
That beep is like Kmarts!
I used to work for that same one a few years ago
The Home Depot
More Saving, More Doing
Very, very similar to the self service checkouts they have at Tesco, just with different graphics and voice over.
All of the fujiselfs have been converted( or modernized) into NCR'S by where I live! ):
Sadly all the Home Depot locations they got rid of the ncr system and put the new self checkouts to windows 10 dell touchscreens SCO’s
Where The Money Goes In, That Part Is Still NCR, But The Computer Part Is Dell
They've mostly been replaced again, new custom units with Dell monitors and Datalogic scanners.
The new units are still somewhat made by NCR. The cash handling part is NCR.
Cool 😎
do you really have to insert coins first? IBM's systems say to do that too, will it just not accept coins if you insert bills first?
you worked there, so you should have yelled at yourself for filming :D
lol
is this home depot with the 400a
I was at target and in 2017 they replaced thhe Software from standard to Target Software.
Yep. Every Target store has custom software now.
The store i work at still has these NCR ones, but many are switching to Windows 10 dell touchscreen SCO's.
I love the new setup HD is implementing.
I mean technically it still is an NCR self checkout because the base of the checkout is NCR, including the receipt printer. The only differences are the scanner, monitor, and system. Other than that, it’s still technically an NCR.
Any option to key in a large item's UPC codes? I saw the large item option on the register, but does that just call the attendant over? I don't want to have my penny items taken away from me ;)
cool
