  • amzn.to/3NDG1UZIn this video I Ankur Choudhary describe and provide information about how to make your top floor cool
    How to Beat Heat by Keeping the Roof Cool
    1) Grow a roof garden. One of the best ways to keep the roof cool is by growing your own rooftop garden with green grass and potted plants.
    2) Paint the roof by heat reflective pant.
    3) Make shade.
    4) heat-resistant flooring.
    5) Install solar panels.
    6) false ceiling.
    7) Proper ventilation on top floor in morning and evening.

    I hv done heat reflective paint at roof, which protects from heat & water-leakage both. I hv also installed 12 mm bubble sheet under the roof which also stops heat & 3rd i did POP false ceiling. After getting all 3 methods of heat insulation. I m very happy there is 10-12 degree difference at my house now in peak time.

    Cheapest solution is using lime stone with water and fevicol and put a thick layer on the roof in 2-3 layers, but problem is it needs cleaning and has to be done after every 2 years. Did this twice and it resulted in less heat transfer in my house. I was now thinking to put more thicker layer.

  • @mohroughkhataru5902
    @mohroughkhataru5902 Před 2 lety +16

    Over the years after a lot of experiments I finally discovered the cheapest method to cool top floor roof by providing an umbrella to the roof with mushroom thermocool boxes, thick perforated black polythene cloth and some bricks to reduce effect of strong wind. At the beginning of rainy season thermocool boxes are to be stored at the upper side of roof opposite to down side where rain water is displaced. U have to cut 4inch triangles at the base of boxes after throwing lids or tying on the upper side with plastic threads. Through triangles air will pass and roof will dry sooner after rain. Damp roof will break the strength of roof flooring .In winter the roof will also get sun rays & room temp will not fall down like that as had the roof been covered with that artificial umbrella throughout the year.

      Number of factors need to be assessed like your column span, coulumn size to choose between gci or slab.
      Having said that I must say GCI is ok but with some retrofitting or customising your columns and beams and if necessary adding extra beam slab casting also possible.
      Better consult a engineer to asses as per site inspection
