Forging a Damascus kitchen utility knife(Petty knife)

Hello everyone and welcome to the forge, In this week's episode I forge a petty/utility chef's knife from Damascus. For this project I used brass for the bolster, the blade steel was a combination of 1095/15n20 and the handle is Farkelberry wood from my property. Very nice knife! This reminds me that I need to make some kitchen/steak knives for the house. Maybe I can do it before Christmas, and it will be a gift to the family. Also just realized I wasn't subscribed to your channel, so I fixed that. 😉

What type of sand do you use?

If your asking about what I leave the knife in overnight it is actually hardwood ashes to help it anneal. I appreciate you watching.
