+Airraid73 They were decent enough under Gary Barnett in a weak Big 12 north to win a title in the early 2000s, but since the Katie Hnida incident they have gone in the tank.

+arenateam that's true !! Not sure if I like them in pac 10 seem like they should still be in the big 12

You mean a weak Big 12 north division that had a team (Nebraska) who played in the BCS national championship that year? Nah, you're right, the North division was weak there for the better part of a decade. Kinda like the SEC East now.

It was the Big 8 and there was no BCS. It was called Bowl Coalition, which Big Ten and Pac 10 were not a part of.

The Buffaloes sure had OU's number: OU didn't find a way to beat them til 2002 😞

I remember how cocky cu players, fans, coaches were going into the Nebraska game in 1994, they thought they were going to go to Lincoln and just hammer them. Good thing Frazier didn't play that year, Berringer was great, but Tommie would have shredded them on the ground even worse. Nebraska's defense flat out owned cu's offense.

Kind of like how CU now owns Scott Frost?

Kind of like how cocky Nebraska players,& especially fans were-during '89,'90,&'91.2 losses,& a tie.

Cant argue with that. Your defense dominated the best Colorado offense ever,an offense with about as many future pros, as anyone ever. I thought we'd beat you that season. But Kordell always was bad vs Nebraska, Lincoln was very tough to win at,& that Nebraska team, with Frazier healthy, in 1995 turned into 1 of the greatest teams ever

@@evdog1414 So what? That's nothing to brag about these days. Colorado is just mediocre. It's not like Colorado is some big problem for us, any team with a recognizable name is a problem for us. We lost to Purdue the last two years. Colorado certainly didn't own Frost as a player, they couldn't beat him, only as a coach, but right now everyone owns Frost and Nebraska.

@@jasonsmith5226 Why wouldn't they be? They beat Colorado most of the time with most of them blowouts, and they've won far more championships. It's surprising that Colorado would be overconfident going into this game after getting pounded the previous two years by Nebraska.

A cocky CU team went into Lincoln that season and got their ass handed to them.

Yeah and Colorado has beaten Nebraska in 2001, 2002, 2018 and 2019. What has Nebraska done since they joined the Big Ten? I recall Wisconsin beating Nebraska and putting 70 points on them in the the 2012 Big 10 Championship. They CANT beat Wisconsin, Ohio State or Michigan. Michigan would have KILLED Nebraska in 1997. Nebraska is just a bottom team now and they cant handle the Big 10.

it was that and being distracted a hell ton, salam with the heisman and the records, and coach mac retireing. if they werent in that mood we wouldve gone back to the natty and possibly won it. we were a lot better than nebraska that year
