  • Treatments for some retinal conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD) require frequent appointments, which can be a burden for both patients and their families. On this episode of ASRS’s Retina Health for Life, Dr. Jeffrey Heier of Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston joins Dr. Timothy Murray to discuss the treatment burden that many patients experience with regular eye injections and how retina specialists are striving to reduce that burden while improving patients’ vision.

I terrified to travel without having a retina specialist to contact along the way. I feel like I’m going to have a tear or detachment at anytime and need to be within a couple hours of a clinic!
