- June Carter was born in the rugged mountains of Maces Springs, Virginia, to Ezra and Maybelle Carter, pioneers of country music. On stage from a very young age, June found her niche in the spotlight with her vivacious personality and down-home sense of humor. Her confidence and spirit were what attracted Johnny Cash to her in the late 1950s. On the road together, they quickly bonded. June was his helpmate and closest companion. They were married for forty years, through addiction and success, tragedy and triumph. Anchored in Love is an inside look into the life of June Carter Cash, through the eyes of her only child with Johnny Cash-John Carter Cash. With skillful prose, he reveals new information about the legendary woman through his tender memories and heartwarming stories.

Johnny and June Cash aren't dead..
Their Soul Just left their body
and now their souls live on our heart..
Rest in peace Mrs.June and Mr.Johnny Cash !
Have fun Singing together in Heaven
Deadly, being the son of 2 big time singers, guy has nothing to worry about. John and june will prolly be remembered for the next couple centuries, Forever Even. RIP
I must get the book. Johnny and June were so sweet together. I am so glad they were Christian and one day I'll see these two wonderful people in heaven. Their musical contributions are something I am avidly learning about and loving every minute of it! Thank God for these two precious people!
OMG I'M FRIGGIN CRYING RIGHT NOW!
i want june and johhny to come back :(
Anchored in Love..I must get it. Watching the Carter family getting into a car and traveling ,probably singing any where,as most of the older music stars of yesterday did.Now all you have to do is get on shows like American Idol and you're an overnight success.I don't really believe they will ever appreciate their fame as much as the older music stars.I love Johnny and June..RIP.
these photo's of young John Carter are so wonderful, in a guitar case, and I was in London ontario, when Jonathon Holiff was traveling with his Mom, (Saul Holiff's wife and secratary) he was sleeping in Hotels in his dad's suitcase and Teddy tucked in with him. These three little boys, friends, playmates. Jonathon was taken as often as possible on the tours. and Little Joshua too. the movie Jonathon has made, I can't wait till he can show the world. His memories and his dads life with Johnny.
Thanks Johnny for sharing with all of us.
God Bless June and Johnny!
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful insight into the June-Johnny mystique. I have always loved the music of both. may God bless and keep them.
i miss them
Indeed its not seen often.. But its still there :)
I just saw the movie walk the line I fell in love of them thank you for the post
Bravo!
My Hats Off To Them :)
LOL, Spartan is making a reference to the band, "Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash".
Let's not judge John Carter too harshly, even though he has led a highly priviledged, though unsheltered life. He certainly doesn't need looks, talent or schooling; he has money and the prospect of a lot more of same.
Is there not a one among us who wouldn't "Cash"-in on the family name? He's certainly entitled to it...
@tylenoljohnson
There is true love.
No but in Marshall Grant's book I Was There When It Happened he explains that Johnny had an affair with Jan Howard, who was a singer too, and occassionally worked with him.
Okay, shell those peanuts and name June Carter Cash's distant cousin.
I was not talking shit about anybody, just tell me, its not like im going to read the books :P
I read Vivian's book and I don't believe half of what she wrote. I DO NOT think that June went after Johnny like she says it was or that June ever talked like that to her.
@CashPresley32 Can you tell me if it is true, if Johnny Cash had a affair with June's sister. I remember hearing this story a few years back.
4 people don't know their ass from their elbow.
The book is more aboutJohn Carter -- a privelaged, spoiled kid who never did anything but make sure his inherited estate was well protected. If he can't say definitively who his parents were, as he claims in this video, it's because he's been in and out of rehabs so many tmes, he cannot remeber. Johnny and June had lots of struggles and personal faults, but they were much better people than their son is or ever will be.
I think Johnny is one of the best...but something keeps bothering me, what happened to the bastard children he abandoned from his first wife?
John, his name was JOHN....not SUE!
disastrous looking book cover...
Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy and Tara are not bastard children of Johnny Cash. You should read the book I Was There When It Happened by Marshall Grant, and I Walked The Line by Vivian Liberto Cash Distin. Everything in both books are the absolute truth. Please do not speak crap about his children.
Are you really their blood son?
