I love how this killer is an actual creep and not some victim that has justifiable reasons (doesn’t make them innocent tho). On the one hand he was getting called names and insulted by his looks, on the other hand he had an crush on a student who is an minor, and is being an creep about it.

The coolest part is how the kills started going wrong. The detective was actually smart enough to figure things out and get one step ahead of the killer.
It's usually the detective that wins justice in these scenarios. Makes sense that the cops got bodied but not him t b h

@@MarMar189.Yeah, but the detective still won more than he could have lost. He got out in a piece and got, at the very least, much closer to catching the killer, while the dude just got closer to getting caught, and a wound.
For Tape 17 just thinking of being in the hospital and finding out that a serial killer was in your room while you were sleeping and killed someone must be horrifying.

It's kind of funny to see the killer being killed off in one shot when we are playing as him but if we are playing as detective it took 11-12 shots and he still didn't get killed.
The killer is a perfectionist when you play him. He’d rather start over than get looked at by a cook.

You'd be surprised- Richard Ramirez (aka the Night Stalker) tried to shoot a woman in her garage and when she raised her hands (with keys in hand) to protect her face the bullet ricocheted off her keys. But yeah I don't think bullets can deflect off a trash can lid that many times (much less maintain enough kinetic energy to bounce back and kill someone). But eh, it's a video game.

@@magnusm4 Idk, a sledgehammer to the head with gravity, momentum, and full body strength is usually pretty deadly. They're wearing helmets, but he hits them straight in the face. Probably one of the more realistic deaths in this game.

Okay, I actually like that they didn't make the killer absolutely good, and some of the students had legitimate reasons to dislike him (creepy behaviour doesn't just go unnoticed. Maybe to the would've-been victim, but your unhinged behaviour would have to reflect on your day-to-day life).
As cheesy as this was, the graphics were amazing and the plot is simple enough to be likable.

It might be a stretch, but the climbing up of the garden slats (forgot the word 😭) at 1:49 could be a reference to Black Christmas, and how Billy Lenz entered the sorority house!

I was pleasantly surprised they didn't make the killer actually sympathetic in any way. He was actually a massive creep who was already planning something.
Like the victims weren't usually sympathetic or anything, but, most of them were basically innocent. Maybe even all of them barring the two jocks, considering the guy who was *arrested* for Cheese Pizza was apparently allowed to keep his job at the school, meaning not only was he not convicted, he had to be proven innocent to such a degree that there was no doubt he was not only innocent, but set up.
...And the killer *was* a janitor attracted to a student...
...I think this killer janitor might have planted a "gift" for the teacher.
...And that other guy *arrested* for arson wasn't one of the two jocks ether.
I like the twist that the "vigilante" was actually not only an insane killer who didn't care about the crimes, but that the victims were actually innocent to boot! That's a good twist on the typical "vigilante killer" formula, that the label of "vigilante" was applied to the killed by others and shaped our perception of the victims, despite the fact they didn't actually commit any crimes, only were accused of them.
Honestly feels way more authentic to the movies at the time, where the victims were mostly just innocents.

Honestly feel really impressed you put that together. I never thought so hard about the criminal records, and thought the fire was just some last straw. Him planning before the fire and possibly framing the teacher is actually quite clever, the victims were for sure assholes but didn't deserve straight up murder. Honestly enough of me quoting what you said but God is this so freaking smart. Praise is for sure deserved here.

i really like it when horror media has that kind of approach; reminding the audience that the villain is in fact a villain, even if he does do something that we might take a fancy to. the depth it adds is so good
The teacher probably was guilty of the crime; I find it hard to believe within a single year hes convicted of and released from cheeze pizza charges, but at the same time if he was falsely accused why would it show up on his record to the degree that the detective just think he was guilty? I think maybe the school just didnt do a proper background check on the guy
The copy machine making copies of the guy’s face in the office was a…nice? touch lol. I also appreciated Manly covering his mouth when he spoke as the killer, that’s real immersion right there. 👌
I love the small pauses before every kill because you can tell manly is thinking of a pun.

I got serious AAA-shooter vibes when I saw how "clever" the swat unit acts.
The brutality of the killings start to really make sense when you realize it’s personal. Who else sees the blatant resemblances through clown guy and the zodiac killer?

@@DeathnoteBB I think that's more of a reveal than a twist. The actual twist is that the victims weren't being targeted for their criminal pasts, but for the killers personal vendetta.
Paradoxically, certain "plot-twists" became so common that they turned into cliches themselves (e.g. detective being the killer), so when the answer is much simpler, like a cliche as well but one that you haven't seen in a while, kind of a classic, it actually feels surprising, fresh and nice. Funny how that is, maybe we should start recycling older tropes now that some of the current ones became stale and boring.

Game doesn't go off of logic from what i'm seeing; Bullet bouncing off lid, spear piercing through a boat like butter, hiding in the door of the bathroom next to a dead body while being unnoticed by a swat team, etc
How is a bullet unable to pierce through the lid of a trash can, when a knife is able to stab through the wall? Also, some of these moments are really comedically timed.
