The second girl was done with an at home piercing kit. I used to sell those at Sally Beauty, and theyâre absolutely terrible. Theyâre super harsh spring loaded things, and sheâs a liar for saying she was pierced with a needle. The post is too sharp and the backing is very distinctive

That was definitely a piercing gun stud. It was pointed at the end. Normal butterfly back earrings don't have points at the end of the post like that
The second girl must have her ear pierced with a gun because i have my firsts and seconds done with a gun(with no problems) and that how my ears look with big holes plus my first earrings were butterfly backs
Same here but I've had problems and decided to cut out the earring because of the infection and swelling I couldn't just normally take it out. I will never let something get pierced with a gun again. It was so painful and nasty :(

You are never supposed to remove jewelry from an infected piercing. Thatâs how you close up the exit pathway for the infection to leave the body and effectively trap it inside so itâs more difficult to treat
The earring in the second girls ear was done at home!!! Before I knew better I used did my best friends cartilage the exact same kit with the same backs and front and look of the post! They are fake metal and itâs a harsh spring loaded gun.
I going to be blunt: she didn't have to lie it was mistake and could have owned up to it. I hope she learns a valuable lesson.
Good on both of them for going straight into a reputable piercer to get their piercings looked at. Plenty of people wonât seek advice out of fear of having to take the piercings out.
Double trouble for her. No shop did her ear, maybe her friends or someone. She was also having an allergic reaction to the earring. Great that was caught.

Iâve been told to not use alcohol to clean my piercings but all my life Iâve been cleaning new and old piercings and Iâve never had a problem with using it. I have 16 holes in my ears and all are healthy.

It will dry your skin out. It will sanitize but it hurts your skin. You may have turned out ok but it could have gone the other way.

Also the type of piercing is different on both of them, the girlâs piercing doesnât hurt as much as the first guyâs. Believe me I have done both of those and the guyâs piercings is way more painful than the girlâs one

i did that a fuck ton when I was a teen. the trick is to keep the safety pin in and do 3 salt water rinses a day lol. not that I recommend it.

Saline solution and tea tree oil is the best đđŒ had a bump on my tragus and it went away pretty quickly after i started using tea tree oil and washed it with saline water every so often

Man this channel is teaching me a lot about piercings. I didnât know you needed room for the piercing.
Both of my kids got infections in a piercing after hitting the piercing when it was almost healed. In each case we soaked it in a half and half solution of water and hydrogen peroxide, gently drained it of pus by applying pressure until only clear liquid and fresh blood came out and then reinserted the earring covered in antibiotic solution. We did this twice a day and they both healed perfectly. I also felt the earring kept it draining while pushing the medicine to the infection. Their relief when I discovered it and fixed it was a little hilarious. They both thought they had done something wrong. Infections happen.
What antibiotic solution did you use?

Emily Betts you should try get implant grade titanium jewelry from good brands Iike Neometal or Anatometal! Iâm highly allergic to nickel (even the smallest amounts will make me have a rash) but my ears have been okay ever since I switched to high quality jewelry :)

I got my rook done and it was my most painful piercing out of 13! She has done many of my piercings and I love her, but this piercing was PISSED! She did everything right and so did I, but my ear got sooooo swollen and I finally gave up and took it out and it was just full of fluid that needed to be drained.

I got my double helix done at the shop, and they used a needle but they used butterfly clips. Once I found that out I went to another shop to get the correct studs put in
I had my ears (lobes and cartilage) done by guns back in the 80s and 90s before we knew there were better ways and I never had problems like the 2nd girl. Did she even clean it?!

I am currently having a mental breakdown since I did my midway piercing with a gun knowing the risks. I am deeply regretting it. The earring is the same type as what she had with the butterfly back. I am glad you guys mentioned the fact that there is barely to none space between the earring and the skin. When I clean the piercing, it is so difficult to be able to get in the middle. I got my piercing three days ago and I am hoping it wont get infected or leave any scarring. You guys do a great job!

I got my seconds pierced with a gun and 2 weeks after my ear started swelling so my mom took them out cleaned them and put different earrings in and itâs fine now. Iâve had it for about 2 months
You were probably allergic to the metal and it took a while to react bc it was plated with something you didn't react to, but that still doesn't mean guns are any good.

When I got my double helix done, my piercer pierced me with a needle abd gave me earrings with butterfly backings. So should I trade these ones out for the flats?
The greatest thing for an infected piercing take a cup or bowl fill with water, heat it in the microwave for a minute make sure it's a little on the hot side after that add salt and mix. Then let your piercing soak for a while best feeling in the world and it pulls the infection. Every one of my piercings where saved using this.

have you ever had such a bad earring that you cannot put another one in after you take out the old earring? i am always worried that someone wont be able to switch jewelry
I always suggest that people put one right back in. Once you clean it out and put a longer piece of jewelry in, the swellingvwill go down. Just keep the area clean, slightly rotate the jewelry and don't put any additional pressure on it (ex, lay on it, right clothing).

Mine would always swell up and get sore I stated taking it out ever so often and put some 10% hydrocodone cream and it would go down pretty fast.

You can totally tell how a few of these people just straight up lazily neglected to even turn and clean their piercings.
Had a cartilage piercing done and i loved it so much, but caused soooo many problems. One, i ended up getting a keloid. Two and i had to get it pierced twice cause the hole closed a bit and that hurt slightly more (even with the keloid). Third, i accidently tugged it after almost a YEAR i had it in (mind you it still didnt heal after all that time and i would clean it everyday) and caused my ear to bleed. So yeah had to take it out and my ear finally healed and no keloid. It was sooo cute i was so pissed đđ i couldnt put any piercings it. It was closed shut.
Ps, i did get it done professionally, but my body just wasn't having it lol

I just recently got a double helix and my 3rd lobe they said I need to turn the love but they never said if I should turn my double helix am I supposed to turn it or what? Also they are so close together that I canât clean in between them with a q tip so is it okay for me to not clean in between them or do you have any tips?

This happened to mine in the top of the ear like the first girl the jem went stright through the back of my ear it was terribly infected ... i just left it out
