Question: does iodine work for cleaning piercings? I know that it’s used to disinfect surgery locations and infections, but is it ok to use on piercings too?
You should actually try squeezing all the puss out and properly draining infection 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Imagine going to someone for help and they just harass and bully you the whole time
She works there, these are friends and colleagues 😂
@@jasm_ne y'all just let your friends/coworkers bully you? Seems like a great relationship

Honestly, I don’t blame them at all for roasting her. She works there. Her lack of care for piercings that she got at work is bad for business.
My bestie is a tattoo artist and I’m her shop, an apprentice dropped a needle on the floor and EVERYONE yelled toss it, don’t use it. It’s serious stuff!
I think them posting it to a global audience online pretty much rules out the “bad for business” justification for how they treated her in this video. I wouldn’t go to a place that shames *anyone* for a mistake. That makes people not want to ask for help.
@@catumiriparvum9178 But it wasn’t a mistake. You don’t ‘accidentally’ not clean a piercing. Maybe occasionally forget, sure. But just NOT clean it AND sleep on the piercing? It’s just dumb. You wouldn’t trust a dieting coach that only ate fast food, same kinda thing.
@@ghoultooth None of what you said justifies shaming someone. It also doesn’t address why I wouldn’t go to a business that shames people (mistake or not). Shaming decreases help-seeking. If people are going to be mocked and judged, they won’t ask for help. I hope her lack of ear care wasn’t due to something like a depressive episode or a manic episode. I hope we do better on those posts of people who didn’t brush their hair for months because they just couldn’t function. Not brushing their hair wasn’t a “mistake” either. It’s her ear. Handle it in private.
I don’t judge the personal habits of any professional who works effectively in my life, actually. That’s a boundary issue. What an eating coach eats is none of my business.
@@catumiriparvum9178 It's perfectly fine to shame bad behavior and attitudes, habits etc
And the fact she works somewhere where they harp on cleanliness etc.. That's not acceptable? At all!!?
I would never have gotten all those piercings and not take care of them by not cleaning them.
“Hmm. You’ve been sleeping on it.

When she went "Laura, you work here" I LOST IT
Best advice I ever got from my surgeon, clean it, leave it alone and wait. Works for pretty much any laceration or wound to the skin. Your body is great at healing itself, but it needs to be clean in order to do that. Usually, for minor wounds, water and soap until it properly closes over is enough. Fro piercings, whatever your piercer prescribes is probably enough. Just, don’t go touch it all the time. Your hands are dirty and will irritate the skin trying to heal. Clean, leave alone, wait. It works every time
Exactly! 👏👏👏
Exactly very true thanks for explaining that very understanding👍
Yea yea I get it, she works in a piercing shop and she should know better but geez, y’all didn’t have to embarrass the girl like that and make her feel that bad. On that note, if you’re gonna get piercings, at least make sure you’re gonna take care of them man 🙄
I know right i felt alittle bad for her at the end there🥺
It's not hard to keep it clean

@@brandenward3730 no stupid

The thing that surprises me is this wasn't one of those infections that pop up after a couple of days. If she literally had a hairball caught up in the discharge she's been working on that infection for a while. I didn't feel like they were giving her an extra hard time It fit the crime. She works in a piercing salon and allows that to happen. Come on girl. To be fair I bet she will be on top of her piercing hygiene from now on. If not they should make her remove all of her piercings. Update Spoiler. She ended up quitting when she fainted watching a customer getting a piercing.
So disgusting 🤢 I can only imagine the other workers and they’re dirty piercings as well. She couldn’t even wash her hair. Nasty!
@@ms.mar-y-sold.m.1634 I'm also surprised that professional piercers didn't spot immediately how badly infected it was. I would have thought it would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Especially when their CZcams business is based on infected tattoo content.
Shes really lucky she didnt have more serious infection infections like that can make you really sick and ill the amount of pain she must be in. Not good
@@ms.mar-y-sold.m.1634 I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed the state of her hair. That, mixed with the lack of care of her piercing equals lack of personal hygiene in general (at least to me). The best advice I was given from a great piercer was, don't fiddle or touch it and leave it alone. So that's what I did and I've never had any issues, no bumps or infections either.
Indeed. Mine got a little bump and a bit infected (not that big of a deal) and it all happened when I started touching it and moving it too much cause I'm fckn stupid lol. Anyway, I read the best advice first 》》 find the root of the problem.
And I stopped being a Lil shit, I cleaned it every day, stopped touching it, and voilá. Everything was fine again.
Edit: just clean it and leave the poor thing alone to heal.

I remember having my belly button pierced. I kept getting mocked for not cleaning it told to clean it repeatedly. I had been cleaning it. It turned out I was allergic to the material and it was burning the skin around the bar! Needless to say I have a scar and no piercing now!
Same. But I didn’t realize my jewelry wasn’t titanium and my body was rejecting it. Did it at some beer fest thingy 20 years ago. 🤦🏻♀️ scar has shrunken but it’s still thick there. Won’t be having it done again 😔

I went to a salon one time and all they did was to say how damaged my hair was and even said that it looks like a broom. I was so embarrassed because people are looking at me. I went their to fix my hair not to criticize me in front of all people. I always asked for home service because of that.
i dye my own hair bc i like it that way but go to a hairdresser to get it cut bc i can't do it myself and she keeps going on abt how the colors suck and that i should never dye it bc my natural color is so pretty, it makes me wanna actually learn to cut my own hair lmao
I remember going to a salon, first time after my baby was born. Hadn't left the house without my kid for 3 months, and decided spur of the moment to get a haircut.
The hairdresser made me feel so revolting because my hair was slightly greasy.. he didn't talk to me at all, had this disgusted look on his face, and when I left, I felt worse about myself than when I went in. :-/
I'm so sorry.. They shouldn't do that
Sorry that happened to you. I believe the situation in this video is more innocent, and more preventable than damaged hair. But hair doesn't necessarily become infected. That's shitty the hairdressers talked about you like that, especially since hair can be one of the first things to go awry during a depressive episode.

@@lyndapawlik1347 hypertrophic scar aka piercing bump it can happen even if the piercing heals before the bump is treated ; it becomes a part of scar tissue outside the piercing.
no infection just the scar left from an irritated bump that formed during healing. That said, scar tissue is sensitive and can hurt when pressure is applied

We need some updates on how the healing goes please!!
That's the hardest piercing to clean and it takes a while to heal. I had a double forward helix and the studs bump each other. I had to remove the other so the other one can heal and the doctor prescribed me oral antibiotics. Once the other piercing healed, I had the other one repierced.
Omgosh, her helix is dirty too.😭 4:09.
It would be nice to see the result after a few weeks of so… after videos like these would be satisfying af to see if bumps and stuff heal up

i changed my earrings early and now i have piercing bumps. it has been 4 mos huhuhu
Use tea tree oil
I use tea trea oil and it helps dry them out although mine come back after a couple days but I just got my helix pierced in November
I used a body piercing aftercare solution. You can get them on Amazon for about £6 and they've saved both my nipple and belly button piercings. Both I've accidentally tugged and it had caused bumps. Perfectly healed now.
Did you have a hoop or bar? When I got my conch pierced the lady put a hoop and it was causing so much irritation that I changed it to a bar. It started to form a tiny bump but once I changed it it went down.
@@mamallama826 i had a bar then i changed it to a hoop but yes, so much discomfort and the bump worsened so i changed back to a bar. my helix are starting to heal. though not advised, i put rocksalt on the bump. 😢
Kinda surprised he put the earring back in. I would have thought he would wait until it was calmed down and healed.
I had one fall out and the next day my hole had somewhat closed.
They actually advise not to remove the piercing. Otherwise the hole will close and the infection will be trapped and cause an abscess. By putting the piercing back in he ensures that the hole does not close and the infection can drain.
@@nawsheen7538 I didn’t know that. Learn something new every day. 😁
This happened with every single piercing I ever had. I paid special attention to try to avoid sleeping on my ears. And I cleaned my ears at least 2-3 times a day. I had someone dig around the piercing to get the hair out. It was so painful. I got accused of not cleaning my ear either and it just wasn't true. 🙁😢
How??? Holy shit how poorly did you clean? Were you cleaning the actual piercing or just your ear canals bc idk how cleaning it too much like you did can cause THAT.
@@AS.02 I used a Q-tip, cleaned around the piercing with warm water then followed up with the cleaner I got from the piercing facility (I then dried and cleaned again, sometimes twice). I always moved the erring around in an attempt to clean inside the hole as much as possible. I am sensitive to metals so not sure if that played a part.
@@hildia5439 You're not supposed to move them around and clean inside the hole. You're just exposing the open wound and killing any kind of natural protection your body is trying to send there, not giving it a chance to heal on its own. The cleaner you were given is meant to clean, disinfect and prevent any kind of build up around the piercing. Your body will handle the rest on the inside on its own (if given the chance, which you didn't give them).
You could have had an allergic reaction to the piercing. I get an allergic reaction to the kind of rings they use after they pierce you unless it’s stainless steel. I literally can’t even use hypoallergenic without it getting infected. No plastics either, they burn. 🤷🏻♀️ Not saying that this is what’s going on with you but it’s definitely something to consider. 🙂
